Thanks to everyone for all your lovely words about how great I'm looking at the moment. Of course it's a large part to do with how I'm taking care of myself, showing up for myself, but also I've had a few "tweakments" over the last few months. In this video I show the entire process of deciding and what I end up getting done.
This video contains medical procedures and needles.

Over 30 years ago I lost 150 lbs, walking. I had a tummy tuck…skin removal on the abdomen…I didn’t do my arms because it was too expensive. That surgery changed my life! I don’t tell many people because the judgement is real, also it’s none of their business. I have had a nice flat abdomen for the past 30 years, and at 65 I still do! Anyone who thinks we did this the easy way never went through our journey…good luck in whatever you choose for you!
I'm on my way to a 120 pound loss and, at the age of 64, I realize the changes to my face and body will be different to those of a younger person. I'm trying to begin getting my head around this now and you are the only one who talks about these challenges of the journey. Your "middle of weight loss" video is one I repeat a LOT! Thanks so much for this valuable content.
Thank you Karen xx
Karen, I'm 69 and trying to lose the same as you. At my age, the only thing I worry about is that my eyelids will droop down over my eyes. They already do a little and I've only lost 50. I have to admit, Carla looked beautiful even in her before losing weight picture, and again before the procedure, but she looks even more beautiful now. Maybe I should really consider getting the drooping eyelids fixed when the time comes.
@@EnjoyingLifeMelanie It's possible that the drooping eyelids may be covered by insurance if it's negatively affecting your vision.
You lived the weight-loss struggle and deserve to have the face of your dreams.
"if you are unhappy with something and you have the means to change it, why not?" I love that. Very empowered mindset.
Before weight loss, you looked to me like the classic dark haired Irish ☘️ beauty. After weight loss you look more sophisticated, but still an Irish beauty ❤
Dude, you are soooo inspiring!! We have the same aesthetic and when you said “I’ve wanted to look like THIS my whole life” I felt it in my chest. Seriously, I tested up. Currently on what I hope is my final weight loss journey. At 202lbs currently, and I’m striving to be ~150 or so with LOTS of muscle.
You look beautiful now and before the weight loss. Your journey to self awareness and healing is inspiring and heroic
You were very cute even before the weight loss! I have lost 90 lbs. I have since had filler in my face and I am scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast lift in November. I still have a lot of loose skin in my arms and legs, but may have to just live with that because all of this is expensive. I am almost 72 yrs old, so my skin does not have much resiliency. I am still thrilled with the weight loss. My daughter laughed and said did you ever think you were going to peak at 70! I have to admit…I’m a hottie!😂🥰
I know exactly what you're talking about after loosing a large amount of weight. My face became looking old, ill and has wrinkles on the cheeks. Just so far I'm still thinking about getting fillers and one doc I considered told me, that due to the amount of lost fat in my face and my age, fillers won't work. But better a wrinkly face than an unhealthy weight. Congratuations to the results! They look really natural and good!
You look amazing before and after!! Looking at your before, I'm not afraid of what my face might look like after I lose my weight. (Fingers crossed. I'm 320
pounds) I'm so glad you were able to get the work done that makes you happy 😊 You look amazing.
I have to say I think your face is beautiful all three ways: 1st photo during the weight loss, after weight loss and after Botox. You are just beautiful, period! I'm glad you did what you needed to do for the way you want to look. All that is for you because you're worth it.
Thank you so much for sharing all of that!
Love your honesty and transparency ❤
Yes girl, love it!

Tremendous thanks for sharing this with us. Answered all the questions I had. You look fantastic! ❤
I’ve lost 100 lbs in the last year and have about 40-50 to go, but I’m having the same volume loss in my cheeks and tear troughs. I’m so happy to see that there is a relatively simple solution and will definitely find someone near where I am to help me!!
Huge respect for your weight loss. Well done you. Good luck with losing the rest and any procedures you have done. 👍
@@carolinejohn4537 Thank you 💕 I’m now at 120 lbs lost
You deserve it! You look gorgeous and have worked hard for your health
Girl, you look freaking fabulous!! I love how natural it looks and how good it makes you feel. Way to show up for yourself! I so identified with your desire to look a certain way, can’t wait to get there myself! As always thanks for being vulnerable and inspiring. ❤

Honestly I am super proud of you! You are taking care of yourself and it really shows that you are in love with yourself. Your aesthetician sounded very knowledgeable and I love the way she was giving you so many compliments and make you feel like you’re in control.
You look awesome, do what makes you feel great! ❤
I appreciate your honesty in when you say that you have always wanted to look this good. People don't admit that. So good for you and I agree with you about, always wanting to look a certain way and working hard for it and deserving it. Well done Carla. Please send some of your motivational my way on my weight loss journey. Xx
I love that we have choices about how we look. I love, love, love that you shared this. Yes you are beautiful either way, but if it makes you feel like who you are on the inside... then you go girl!! Thank you so much! Such great information. :)

You look beautiful! I've had botox and fillers and I'm completely happy with my decision too.
Carla. You look stunning. Dead right. You deserve to look amazing after all your hard work.
Good for you!
Hi Carla I’ve just come across your channel and I love it! Thank you you’ve given me so much motivation and I’ve kickstarted my weight loss journey, I’ve lost 3 1/2 stone so far. On cosmetic surgery live and let live you look fabulous I’m saving up for lip fillers 😁 xxx
Wow so natural looking!
Yesss! I totally understand ALL of your rationale. Thank you for this video! And great that you were able to film your consultation and procedure. (I, too, have started injections to my forehead. [Haven't tried filler yet.] I'm still losing weight, so I guess I'll have to see what's staring back at me in the mirror once I'm closer to goal.) I think this is an important conversation to have for those of us who experience major body composition changes. There's so much involved in terms of mental health, self-care, body image/esteem, and grappling with stigmas (size, age, etc.). It can feel triumphant to arrive at the moment when you want to AND CAN do something like this.
Never would have thought ..it looks so natural..U look great Carla..why not 🖤
Thanks Lynda xx
You are absolutely stunning Carla! Love your content and love your honesty 😍 You're a true inspiration! x
Thank you Maebh xx
Good on you! You do what you want, missus
You look stunning before and after! Good for you for doing something to make you feel your best ❤️ I hope sometime you could post a tutorial on your makeup. I have very similar coloring and just think you are beautiful 😍
It’s actually my plan to do one for next week 😉 and thank you xx
Thank you!! I have the same amount of weight to lose and am concerned about looking gaunt as well. Love this video! ❤
I hope to have the means to have this done if “necessary”.
You are right to feel fabulous. You look fabulous ❤
Thank you xx
I'm quite glad I watched your video as I've been pretty worried about a colleague who has lost a lot of weight which is great but her face is looking pretty gaunt so I was worried she was ill. I didn't realise that was something that happened with a large amount of weight loss.
I am so happy for you. You are GLOWING. I'm glad you finally got to look exactly how you always wanted to look. You deserve it! I'm at the beginning of my journey (but I already look fabulous, haha! I definitely don't have the poor self-esteem that other overweight women do, lol!) but I look forward to feeling and looking EVEN BETTER. My boyfriend lost a lot (too much, I think?) and when he gained ten pounds back, his face filled out beautifully again. So, you're right, the face takes the biggest hit! Congrats to you and thanks for all your straight-forward, no-bullshit videos!
I love that you thought deeply about it before committing - I was in my late 40s when I lost 50kg - and frankly, enjoyed my slightly gaunt look - what is interesting, is how now I'm 61, my face and body have all reshaped naturally (as in with being an active and healthy woman) - I'm content without any interventions - I have a natural outlook with most of life, but I know that as a younger woman I was less confident - one of the best things I ever did for my self esteem was hair removal on my legs - I'd hated my pale skin with dark long hair since a girl - so I do understand that we all have our personal journey with body image. Great video sharing.
Thank you for your honesty as always. Once I reached my goal weight I needed 8mls of filler, I’m a lot older than you so it doesn’t make me look younger, just not so gaunt! The cheeks are definitely where the weight loss shows and it makes the biggest difference. Good for you, you worked hard to get there so make the most of it x
Thanks for sharing. That’s one of the reasons why I have been very conservative on my weight loss goals… I knew too much weight loss would make my face look too gaunt and wrinkly! It might… but I can now see there are minor procedures that can be done to make your face look better after weight loss. Thanks! By the way, you look fabulous!
Cosmetic procedures only enhanced your beauty! I admire your hard work ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was so incredibly helpful!! I’m about to go for a consultation in May for a little procedure that I’ve wanted for so long, and then this pops up on my feed! ❤ from a Canadian Carla 😉
Yeay!!! Thanks Canadian Carla x
YOU LOOK AMAZING!
Thank you xx
I’m happy for you! I’ve had those same fillers/ Botox areas treated. I even added the chin filler and have never felt better. You look phenomenal!
Think I’m going to do the chin 😊
You’re just a beautiful woman. I watch your videos to help give me incentive to keep trying.
Thank so much for sharing your procedures! I love the results. You look so natural and I wouldn't have ever known you had anything done. It is good to see that this can be done and look like yourself but at your best. I'm 47 and have been looking at procedures and the last thing I want is the obvious look that is so popular today. So again, many thanks for sharing!!
I agree, I didn’t want to look like I had anything “done” I just wanted to enhance my natural looks and undo my volume loss. No puffer fish looks for me
I support you 1000% for having those few things done so you can finally feel fabulous! I'm looking at about 160lb loss and I'm 55. I'm not sure how I will look once I reach my goal. If I am able to and want to have work done, I sure as hell will! You are such an inspiration, and I admire your candor! Thank you so much for sharing everything you do. ❤
You go girl! I used to get filler&botox back when I was working full time and LOVED how it looked. Now that I’m broke I do “face yoga” and practice awareness so as not to have an habitual “oh woe is me” look lol. Once you become aware of whatever outer expression you want to project it’s just takes some practice and that’s half the battle. The other thing that happened with the Botox is my muscles learned to overpower it so I had to keep getting more and more to achieve the same results.
Now my forehead is falling down and I wish I could get that snatched but financially that won’t be happening anytime soon
:-(
You are gorgeous inside and out and I think your happiness with your procedure allows you to shine with a beautiful sexy confidence. 💛
Good for you, Carla! 👏🏻 You are beautiful both inside and out, and if doing this makes you feel even better about yourself, then it is absolutely worth it! Thanks, as always, for your refreshing honesty! ❤️
Thank you Pat xx
Hey lovely could you wear makeup afterwards? Downtime? Thanks. Happy for you😊
Carla-I never stop being amazed at what people are willing to say when they are sitting at a computer screen. You look amazing, and I understand why you had that “boost” after your weight loss. I started getting Botox when I was about 42, after I glanced at a photo, and thought it was an old one of my mom. It wasn’t. I also was told, even in my 30’s, that I had “resting bitch face”! They don’t say it anymore. 😄After what you accomplished with your weight loss, you should absolutely take it to the next level, if that’s what you want to do. No explanations need to be given.
Thank you Bev that means a lot xx
You look wonderful!
Those results are incredible! I don't know if I'd be able to justify the price for the short duration though 😔 If it was closer to 5+ years it would make more sense for me (personally). Either way, thanks for sharing your journey!
You are so beautiful! I love that you feel so good about your look. Greetings from Colombia!
Ahhh you are so amazing, always so honest!
I feel okay about wanting this now, haha!
Do what makes you feel good. You don't have to apologize or justify anything to anyone.
Thank you Jennifer. That’s why I share, so we can reduce the stigma and shame about doing things for us, because they make us feel better
I concur xx
Im 53 and was done having children when I lost my weight 3 ish years ago. I felt I also looked gaunt and a bit older. I've been doing botox maybe 2 times a year since 45. I wish I started earlier. I am considering a bit of filler. My most "extreme" procedure was a tummy tuck to get rid of loose skin on my stomach. Definitely worth it. You look fantastic!
Thank you so much for sharing! I lost a lot less than you and I'm still on my journey, but I already feel like I look a lot older and sickly. I definitely understand what you mean by the cheek dent thing! I have it and it drives me crazy. I always wanted to get some botox and my lips done, but I was worried about the filler in the face, because I've heard people often saying that it will migrate, make you look puffy etc. You really made me consider trying it out, it looks so good, fresh and youthful :) So thank you for sharing and please keep us updated if you see some further changes or do something else :)
Awe thank you and I will. I think the most important thing is to find someone who’s good that you can trust. 🖤
I’ve been following The Happy Pear for years!
You looked so pretty before your weight loss, and now you look as well amazing! Bravo! I am personally so grateful for my botox! At 50, I prefer having botox than a lifting... for now, at least. I a totally relaxe with all kind of procedure as long as it is safe.I encourage you to do whatever you want, honestly. Good for you girl!
You look absolutely stunning ❤❤❤❤❤
Hiya Carla, only found your videos last week. I love your look and attitude. Am on my own weight loss journey now too. Where did you get your beautiful round ring from? Thanks x
You look amazing and you'd never know!
Thank you xx
Awesome - thanks for sharing - very inspiring ..... may I ask did you have your stomach stapled that you want skin removal surgery? Just wondering about autophagy through fasting - have you considered that?
Carla, you are beautiful inside and out!
As for the skin removal, I’ve seen other RUclipsrs who have reduced their excess skin without surgery over time btw. Some use micro needling and other use just loofah and scrubbing. Over time and with consistency, some results are very good. You’re young enough and with healthy enough skin, that it might be worth considering.
Thanks Sandy, for certain areas on my body I will 100% require surgery, but that's ok. For others those techniques do work xx
Ur face looks so so good now. Not that it looked bad before but as u said the volume had gone down due to weight loss and I thought u did get some wrinkles on ur forehead before. U look 10 years younger for sure !!
I know you said you weren’t looking for comments but may I compliment you? You have a beautifully symmetrical face no matter your weight but now literally stunning. Fan from
SW Missouri 🇺🇸
Thank you so much 🙂
You look stunning with your hair pulled back. How you held it to show your face contour. You must have so much fun getting ready to go out. 😍
Thanks Hannah, love getting ready!
