Just a suggestion, try using a length of nylon strap wrapped around/underneath the battery as you lower it into the battery box.
Then leave the strap for when/if you need to remove the battery.
    Just a thought.

5:00. Anchor pins & bushings. Those are always a pain. I worked in a heavy truck shop. We had a giant driver for them very similar to a ball joint press, but significantly more chonker like. Can't count the number of times I used that thing with heat, a 3/4 air impact, and a BFH do drive out the pins. Then an air hammer and chisel bit for the bushings. Whizzy wheel the hole with a die grinder and flapper wheel, and slide the new ones in after dunking them in anti seize. 👌

Y should build reservoirs in your ranch close to places where there is flooding. Then drain the floods to reservoirs, and use reservoir for irrigation. You will see the difference in crop. Less excess watering in wet season. And reservoir to irrigate in dry season. You can even reduce evaporation from reservoir. Using shading in reservoir.

Iowa State used a brush like that on a small JD tractor to polish the ice on the sidewalks back in the 70's. It was safer to walk through the snow than it was to walk on the sidewalks. They would also use the same tractor to go out on Lake Laverne to polish the ice for skating but one time the tractor fell through the ice. Best entertainment we had all winter!

You can use welder cable extension connectors between the truck and trailer and source power from the battery through a 100 amp breaker, then you will have enough to power the engine on the trailer. Happy New Year Larson Farms.

I maintained state salt / brine trucks and what I did was use heat to warm the cast up for the pins on the shoes then crack the cast a few times with a BFH then air hammer them out. and then I always got 1 1/2" round flap disks or even some 1" ones and then use them to sand the rust down then you can easily apply anti seize and tap the bushings back in

Ya know, they make a carry strap for batteries. Holes in the ends of the strap drop down over the battery posts and then little folding tabs drop down to hold the strap to the post. Lift the tabs and the strap slips off. We used to sell them at Sears Auto. Just about any parts store should have them.

Hey Chet, increase your wire size a bit (find out the CCA of the starter then ask a sparky about the right size for the amps at distance), then run a line direct from the truck batteries, through an appropriate fuse, to the trailer. You should be able to get an appropriate connector for the amperage also

Your problem isn't voltage or wire gauge. It is voltage drop due to the current limitation of your relay (which you will probably burn out if it is not protected). Use the truck to charge your battery (within the current limits of the relay) and use the battery to start the engine. You will need to isolate the two circuits to do this.

If on this set up u truely want it to charge then u need to put on a power cable set up ,like for charging a battery that has a lift gate on it, 1 gage cable to back of sleeper next to the 7 way light cord . To recepticals 2 terminal one 50 amp or 100 amp breaker put it at the batteries run the ground and positive to receptical, plug in the curly cable 2 terminal, wire in the same way on trailer to your motor ground to frame and positive to where you got it, then test it before starting the truck . Double check once running. It will start then properly.

Chet Do a AMP check when starting the engine if your pulling 300 amp you need a cable that maintains that amperage at whatever length you have from the battery. You can get away with a voltage drop of 3or 4 % but no more than that, under volts burns up motors. A 4/0 battery cable should carry 300 amps 20 ft. at a 2 % voltage drop. Don't take my word ask a engineer.
