    I’ve worked for several farmers over the years and they always seem to disappear when there’s any physical labor needed. Not at Larson farms, they are the first ones to get in there and do the work. Way to lead by example! Keep up the amazing content everyone!

    You can mount the pump on the truck that you use to pull the trailer the most. That way it won't block any of the trailer bed.

    • @henkoosterhof5947
      @henkoosterhof5947 6 месяцев назад +4

      But than you have to connect the hoses, lift the trailer, disconnect the 5th wheel, put the truck close to the trailer to connect the hoses and lower the ramp. Then you decide if you want the truck close while loading. 7 things you have to do for loading or unloading.

    Chet tell Brody to watch his power washing hoses, or he might hit that switch below. True story, myself and 3 other workers were on top of a 6 by 14 scissor lift, and one of our chords hit the up switch and overrode our controls, which almost pushed us through the ceiling. I was starting to scramble over the edge when the electrician ran over and hit the switch luckily. Good times...

    Have a class on the man lift!!!!! Make sure that if you are operating close to an over head object that someone is on the ground knows without delay how to take control of the unit. When you are at the top of your lift, where you want to work, LOCK OUT THE UP COMMAND. You do not want the lift to get a notch in its belt like one I worked with. The Person was working under a beam when he leaned over the side and moved the up switch. The lift pinched him between the side rail and the beam. NO one on the ground knew how to switch control. We had class every time we worked close to an overhead structure.

    may I suggest to you all, keep a maintenance logbook for piece of equipment. So when you guys are working on multiple pieces of equipment at one time, you're not flipping back and forth on one book. Also when you sale a piece of equipment its easy to sale and could add more value, because of all maintenance records are kept.
    If you really go nuts get some digital tablets with maintenance manuals loaded for the equipment, then when you sell print records, and keep tablet for replacement equipment. You can set the tablets up for all kinds of inspections and maintenance issues as well as trends of inferior parts breaking too often.
    It does take time to set them up, but when its done I believe you're going to love it.

All the controls and key start were up by where your hydraulic inputs are now. You’d have to pull it off its pallet. Only thing I can see is at the rear all the dirt a debris getting all over it. Up front it was in its own case. Regardless you guys will come up with a great solution that works for your operation.

    I used to take those gear cases off all the time by myself. Tilt it up all the way and it is a one man job.

    Eric, we are on the same wavelength. The first thought I had as well when Chet pulled out the platform extension.

    You should take the new pump apart and make a box for it to fit in. Under the trailer in the space closet to the deck by the brake chambers for the first axle. It looks like enough space to put a shelf to hold the box. You should measure the space and see. From the top of the trailer cut an opening to start and access the pump.

    Make a naugahyde cover for the controls station to keep most of the water off the control panel. And you can get a pressure washer hose up through the center and put a plug-in on the platform. They're included in the Towable versions of the lifts. And a plate for the gasoline pressure washer, too. 🎉 14:40

    Can confirm, hire out the lower unit re-install! Did this with an 87 year old grandfather in-law, a 58yr old uncle in-law at the top of a dirt driveway in northern New Hampshire with FAR less tools and know how. It seems simple until you need to get the trans, motor, and both shafts into the same gear while holding, twisting, turning, persuading all of that together at once. Ask me how I know. Also would have loved to have had a seat like Erik while holding all that!

    Do yourself a BIG Favor on equipment logs .. Make one for each one . Growing up my dad ran 4 Asphalt plants and 6 cement plants . as well as a lanf leveling compny that did lots of road building . between it all we had over 400 peices of equipment . We started out like you are now but we found out it was much easier to give each one it's own book . Also if and whe we sold that piece of equipment the book went with ir so the new owners could see what had been done to it over the years ...Dad was very proud of the system I went too.. Good Luck ..

    More planks on the tilt-back bed for Traction and control on the bed. The excavator needs something to grip onto the ramps and edges. 24:21

    Lift your boom up high. Track on till the machine wants to tilt on the deck. Then boom down. The machine will sit level. Best way to load in the winter

    Put the shifter in reverse so it's easy to turn the prop and get the drive splines aligned. Tilt the outboard back. Remove the cowl, hang a ratchet strap that hooks on both sides and runs under the lower unit. Easy controlled one man removal or install.
