The two bolts on the disc are there to hold it up into travel mode, take the bolts out, raise it all the way up and put them back in and let it down so the cylinder isn’t holding it up when you’re going down the road or when you’re going to leave it sit for a while. When you are disking with it, either remove the bolts completely, or put them in one of the multiple sets of holes to use as a depth control. Another thing with an offset disc is to go clockwise, so your turning to the right and the desk will cut in more. Looks like it’s in good shape and does a good job.

I have a disc like this & it takes a 100 HP tractor to pull it if fully set in the ground. You have an adjustment link at front of disc that will lift or lower the front discs & make it cut deeper and the rear cut less or just the opposite. To cut the brush, I'd set the front lower for the first pass and raise to "level" for later pass to smooth the soil. The off set is a beast.

I wanted to scream at you when you first hooked the cylinder up, but I'm sure you couldn't hear me! That may have been when it bent. Disc works perfect behind the dozer. A remote hook up on the dozer would be a much better bet than risking multi- thousand dollar tractor tires, at least the first few times over.
Congratulations on both purchases. Love the bucket.

Now that you have a disc and tilt bucket. Mrs. Dirt perfect said she now wants a raised garden bed with a 1/16 “ fall 20 by 20 and DO NOT damage the roses. Now let’s see how good “ operator my donkey” is 🧐🫣? A tip from an old man farmer using the disc try and make a X pattern across the field corner to corner to start with. This will create a checkerboard with the dirt and give you even more airflow to help dry things out. Good luck on the garden and hi from Texas

DP YOU have to drill an tap a thick small steel plate that fits tight between the boom an valve an put one bolt though the valve into the plate to hold it there as a spacer. The smallest bump to that valve will bust that fitting between the two blocks every time with out that spacer ask how I know. You can't get away with it hanging mid air. It not going to turn. Trust me. Don't weld spacer to boom.

You mentioned no plan on putting a block behind that vale and mounting to the boom. I would probably recommend that since there's quite a bit of weight hanging off that mounted block with all those fittings and hoses and such and vibrations from running may make fittings crack hanging off there like that.

I grew up on a farm and in my younger days worked in oilfield and construction. I have seen equipment over greased and completely neglected in both places. If the edges of your desk are not good and sharp it makes a huge difference in what it does. You can take a coarse grinding disc and work from the backside of the deskand put an edge on them. It doesn’t have to be razor sharp but I promise it makes a huge difference.

You know how you are frequently saying that the topsoil is thin, or there is not much of it? You now have all the tools to fix that. Start with ripping the area, then go back and disc it, all in one direction, and then use a chain link drag (you have the power rake) to get the rocks and sticks, then spread a couple inches of manure (needs to be a little aged) and disc it the other direction. Let that sit up for a few weeks and then put a seasonal grass in (we used winter rye), and once it is full height, mow it and then disc twice (once in each direction) and then plant what you want it to grow... we usually put in "Coastal Bermuda grass" and let that get in solid and added it to grazing rotation. If that works in our rocky dust to make good topsoil here in Texas, it should work up there!

That disc only turns to the left while in the ground. It could use a slab of concrete on top for extra weight. If you take a couple of smaller worn discs and use them to back up the leading disc blades, they will be much less likely to break. Those things do take a lot of abuse but accomplish a lot.
