Fire coach was Crown Coach - boom is used With a Pumper inline. Bucket is a lift only, you need a Pumper separately. Looks like a Los Angeles City California unit.
Take the tank off and sell the extension ladders, make a shop and tool truck out of it. The ladder will be excellent for servicing the leg, dryer and lots of high work, tree topping, roof repairs and even a tow truck for the yard. Maybe not. Call me if you need suggestions.
SNORKEL. My dad was one the first employee’s of Snorkel! He started building all the gigs for all of the weld mets. Later to in 1979 I also were building the booms for the trucks by looking at it that’s a single axle possibly a 55 foot my dad may have a diary of exactly when that truck was built. His name is Ellis
Hope you're all holding it together after the storm. Watching you scope out the 🚒 was funny enough to make me spit my beer out
What about storm damage ???
Glad you guys are all ok how's toby
Always fun to watch ya'll.. GJ keep on keepin' on!
Good stuff ,good to see all the crew together,Dougo
One hell of a thrilling video Chet
Hope you all are OK. Zack Johnson indicated that you got hit sorta hard by the wind like he did with some damage to equipment and buildings. Saw your 2 pics on the shorts channel. Didn't see a post here for 3 days so I guess you're sorting stuff out and had this as a "banked video".
Keep up the good work, hope all are well and healthy and good luck. Equipment and buildings are replaceable, people, not so much.
It's a elevated master stream truck, (snorkel). A line from a pumper (engine) supplies it. Be a lot of fun & probably handy during bin/dryer clean up time. Retired firefighter here.
That means they shouldn't get it since it requires a second pumper truck, correct?
@@OOpSjm , if all they want is a high rise water shooter, you can supply it with a larger transfer pump & water supply from their trailer. Sold anyway.
I am glad everyone made it safely through the storm. Too bad, you didn't get the firetruck. Great video.
Hope you all goes well and you guys can get back to farm life. So glad you are all safe.
The fire truck is a good idea for cleaning everything!!
Chet, you guys will have fun learning to operate the two rams raising the bucket, in Camden-Wyoming, De. we had a 95' snokel on a 1981 Americian La-France 10 wheel chassis. That baby can fly down the road, does it have a pump on the truck if not you will need to have a pumper truck when flowing water to clean the drier. Maybe get the local fire company to use a tanker and pumper to get the flow you need for a donation and a lota fun. Our snokel could flow 1500 gallons a minute through the tip but beware the bucket will move when flowing water. Good use for a old fire truck
I use to work for Snorkel in St Joseph, Mo. I believe you had a 85Ft
The fire truck was funny, just think how fast you could wash the mud off in the fall
I actually think there should be a Larson Farms show on tv. I’m in.😂another awesome video. Bring on the seeding.👍
Well that would have been very handy now for the wind damage in the bin site I bet Dougo is kicking himself now
I hope you guys can get that stuff cleaned up after the storm & hopefully soon you will be in the fields finally. Keep it up Chet
Sorry to hear you guy’s have received damage from the storm. Hope everyone is ok. Zach was showing us the damage on his farm yesterday. Will you be showing any of your storm damage on your RUclips channel?
Its probably going to be hard not to show it, as they are missing an entire shed and a grain bin ;)
Hopefully, not their main or wash shed.
Oh wow. I hope everyone is ok.
They shared stuff on insta the other day.
Probably coming in future videos.
@@denault3985 No, a smaller one, next to where the spray trailer is usually parked :)
They got me on when they said YOU COULD IF YOU HAD A FIRE TRUCK
ALL REASONS TO HAVE ONE
I bet dougo is regretting not buying that fire truck now with all the clean up you have to do
Hope you and your neighbors are all safe. Did you lose power? We lost power for several days when the derechio hit in Ohio in 2012.
Dougo showed pics of generators running on Instagram.
Nice old Ford snorkel. built by crown fire coach in L,A California most ladder trucks and snorkels from that time period didn't come with pumps they had to have an engine to pump to them.
Joseph, Hope to tell you wrong! Truck was all assembled in St Joseph, Mo. The body was installed by Crown. I use to work for Snorkel in 1980. Sorry
we just had 8 days of sun and heat tractors going everywere here in central ontario
Get a used tiller trailer and hook it up to the PETE!!!
Use the bucket to loosen the track, take a 4x4 and put on the nose of the track and tip the bucket into the 4x4 to loosen the track faster
One of greatest videos buy it Doug the boys want it.
I don't know when this video was made... but here up in north-east it's been in the 90°s all week, and in the 100° this Friday and Saturday. (please add a time-stamp/date, or even the year lol, to your video ;)
Chet and Larson Farms works via a video release backlog, this was shot before the storm on the 12th. they still release in order and don't usually have a huge lead or buffer like some channels I watch but just keep in mind it's not real time.
what I like about the FT is it's a Crown body.. They don't make them anymore
The fire truck would be meet and very useful
I bought a firetruck this winter. 1250gpm pump 10l cummins no boom but had 34' ladder all the lights and sirens, 4 air tanks with respirators. 2600' feet of hose. Auxiliary lights and generator. 28000 miles 4000 hours. How can you pass them up.
You guys need a strap to lift stuff lime the drive unit
15 minutes Job, big pry bar
You guys should get a pile of sand in the yard. Before you run in the mud run your tracks through the sand, it makes cleaning tracks wayyy easier. Food for thought.
you guys are the best. love the videos.
Much love from ohio. So sorry that mother nature was mean to you. Glad nobody got hurt.
Yea that’s a fire truck yellow one I’m talking about. That red one was a little squirt
It looks like Brodie is the only one who works.LOL
If you put a two by four in the front and drive it loosens it right up.
Hehehe..... Love it
Here’s some irony. I just bought a fire engine (with the pump) that’s approximately the same year as that one.
One toy chet needs a bolling ball cañón
How did your place handle the storm the other day?
They're ok , grain system damage, tractor with windows blown out, trees and old shed blew down.
I like that video guys I like watching when you spontaneous just take off and go somewhere and check on something you would like to buy be nice to see that big one that Douglas showed you on the computer there start selling some equipment that you don't need and go get it just think what you could do with that you know pull up like you said wash the dryers wash all them bands wash all your equipment instead of going down there to the creek or you can go down to the creek or river and suck the water out and fill it up for free and then you can wash all your tracks on your tractors wouldn't that be easier and when are we going to see devil's new addition to his house I would like to see that and thank you for your video I think I'll go watch it again cuz I'm bored
You goof balls! Why your great, lov you guys and gal, the Mrs that is.
Where did you get that beautiful brass fire nozzle?
You don't have near enough water !!!! 1500 gpm if you have a pumper and a hydrant
Glad you’re all ok
This video was filmed before anything happened
@@jamiemiller8110 every video they make is behind. But since they just posted this, the storm happened so I was just telling them I’m glad they are ok from what they just went through 🤦🏻♂️
We own a ambulance and turned it into a service truck and we just purchased a tanker to use for a nurse truck
That's how auctions work, just like Sweede said, you put in your max and it bids for you up to the dollar amount...
That fire truck probably has a Detroit engine if it's a Ford truck for that time period.
Yeah if you were to get that fire truck the Duggar was showing you are you going to leave at the same color you going to paint it your company logo on it just think of that you can put your American flag on it if there's ever a brush fire you can go help your neighbors that would be cool to see on your farm I don't think your grandfather would like it too much with the siren though you start playing around with that would be nice to see it though thank you for your video I watched it again oh it was nice to see your mother in one of your videos again she's a little hottie
Well I laughed at the 24-15/16 comment.
Looks like the Benson DQ, meadowlane nursing home and golf club hasn’t changed in 30 years….
...and Zielsdorf auction with Midwest Machinery in the background
Doesn't look the same since Thursday. Few trees are gone
Remember Kids: If it's not fun, you're doing it right.
Will DougO bite on the firetruck?
Vote for Dougo!
Pro tip, stuff a 4x4 in the track and run the track around to completely depress the tensioner. Makes it a BREEZE
Yes sir.....I think Welkers learned this after the fact as well when they were working on their skid steer. Definitely makes it easier.
@@vrfarmerguy makes it 100% easier for sure haha
Really worried about your damage.
Best line: "you could if you owned a fire truck."
❤❤❤❤❤❤
If your interested in a Mack fire truck 500gal everything works it’s 6 cylinder Gas think it’s 1970
Yep then you can fix your own down pipes on your grain legs
LARSON FARMS FIRE DEPARTMENT. LOGO ON DOOR LFFD. Or yard art with boom as a flag pole!
Just send the bowling balls to welkers for the cannon
I have a feeling Dougo is starting to feel like a frat house mom.
"You could park here if you had a fire truck" BEST comment of the week!!!!
I'm a 30yr retired Fireman, the Snorkel is hooked to a engine to punp water to it the little nozzle under the basket is to protact you from the heat of a large fire which this is mostly used for at one fire I spent 12hrs up in one
Thank you so much for your service. 🙏🇺🇸
My Dad was the driver for Engine 7 at station 7 in Flint Michigan.
Arthritis and thrombosis retired him from fighting winter fires in the 50's and 60's before they developed self sealing gloves.
Water would get past the stretch cuffs abd get his hands wet.
He sold his Harley because it hurt to much to ride it from the vibration so he "gasp" bought a 650 Yamaha.
Much smoother ride.
@@pinwizz69 If he’s still around thank him for me, fireman do such a service for the country, I couldn’t imagine doing without you all. 👍
@@freemanhochstetler9598.
He passed away over a decade ago from thrombosis related to his years firefighting.
He was also a WW II Navy Veteran.
I didn't know that until the day I came home from Coast Guard Aviation Machinist Mate A school post boot camp.
My Mom made me come home in my uniform and when I sat down next to her on the sofa my Dad got up ftom his chair and said he had something to show me.
He went into their downstairs bedroom and when he came back he put a small lapel button on the coffee table and told me to look at it.
I picked it up and it was a WW II Navy service pin.
My parents got married when he returned in 1946.
She was 16 and he was 20.
That was relatively common back then unlike today.
Nobody batted an eye then.
My oldest sister was born the next year.
I'm the middle of 7 siblings.
They drove him to the cemetery on the top of the Engine he had driven before he retired on a medical.
I agree what farm doesn't need a fire truck especially when you guys wash equipment as much as you do
I drove a Snorkel, exactly like that, many years ago. Like many departments, we hung onto it, way too long. We called it the Klingon Cruiser!
So, if You couldn't get it started, how would you tilt the cab to get at the engine with that boom hanging over it?
The ladder truck without a pump needs a fire truck hooked to a hydrant. They use a 4" or 5" supply line to feed water to the ladder truck.
Problem is , it needs another fire truck to feed it water.
@@ianslow1234 Easy fix... buy two!
That pallet must be welkers ammo👀
My aunt is from Brackenridge Minnesota thanks for the video hope everything alright on your farm with bad weather you had these past week
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
First of all and most important: I trust you have recovered from the storm damage and trust everyone is ok.
I hope your damage was not too severe. Bad deal these storms.
You all take care.
Now back to this video. A fire truck, come on now. Spring better get here soon or these guys will have you crazy Dougo. $16 at Dairy Queen was a good trade off.
Sorry about the skid loader. Hopefully the pump overall will not be too bad. Lot to take apart to get it out.
Good to see Toby. Looks like his leg is much better. Good Toby.
Just remember, no fire 🔥 trucks.
Once again, sending my best wishes that your storm damage was not too severe and all of you are ok.
You all take care and be safe.
Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks for everything.
The Iowa farm boy.
Steve.
Watching Big Swede ask for Whip cream and a Cherry..."that's all I need" Priceless!
That was actually a fun road trip! Experienced the same ice cream sticker shack today. $18.50 for three icecreams.
Don’t know where you found the time to edit a video. You’ll must be cleaning and repairing day and night after the storm. 😢
Hope that the tractors, planters and everything else can get fixed soon. The corn bins can wait until later
Just remember it takes a whole community to maintain a fire truck properly!
You could always use the firetruck to pressure wash equipment out by the crick! Extend the ladder so you won't be back splashed.
Get rid of the Bobcat and invest in a Takeuchi loader. End of problems, end of cost of overpriced parts!
That pallet of balls could be a gift to the walker farm for their Cannon
I've been praying for you once I heard about the storm. May God richly bless you!
Fire Engines have pumps.
Fire Trucks may or may not have a pump.
Very concerned about you all! I have seen other videos of the storm damage and saw and heard comments about damage at your place. Hope everyone is OK and your operation is ale to be up and running soon. Wishing you the best while you deal with insurance and recovering from the damage.
We are good! Thankful.
You need the 4 door crew cab fire truck, to get everybody to the DQ...
Been to Wilmar a lot back in the day. We had a cabin on lake Norway for 22 years. Lots of great memories!
I ended up with a Honda Goldwing screwing around like that on eBay. 😆 Turned out to be not a bad deal.
What year did you get , I love those new DCT trannies
$10 - half a gallon of gas... ERIK - that's the quote of the day !!!
Let the young guys buy the truck, then they will have to spend there allowance. I'm glad I have this channel, whoever knew farming could be so much fun
Chet Eric Dougo Broodie and MoM great video really enjoyed it so fire truck ok was some one out in that last storm to long
"Is that a mouse?" Touches to make sure. You're great Dougo!
Hope your damage wasn't as bad as Millennial Farmers, lost a few bins and a tractor window was destroyed along with other stuff
Great content Chet keep it up
Planting question....if you see a rock up ahead do you stop for it? What is the minimum sized rock that you would stop planting for to pick up? Also, ever find arrow heads in the fields?
I was a volunteer fireman/EMT while going to college (long time ago as I am retired). We had an American La France 80 boom-snorkel truck. I was one of 12 student that lived at station upstairs. The University Of Idaho in Moscow. Built the Kibby dome. . It looked like a half a soup can on its side with 180 feet to the under of the ceiling. We had a sales demonstration inside the dome for the air filled stunt/rescue bags which are inflated with smoke evac fans. The boom was at 60 feet and I was one of six to have an opportunity to jump. The procedure was to jump out and kick your feet in front of you and fall back first . When I jump and fell back first my mind freaked out as it id not natural to fall back first. My heart hit at 180 BPM. I had no sensation of hitting anything or stopping. It was an unique opportunity that one doesn't repeat. The one you bid on was an aerial basket. The truck did not have its own pump, that I could see. You would need another pumper truck that would supply 750 to 1200 GPM at 40-80 PSI. Water supply would be a big problem.
🇺🇸 mother nature better start cooperating pretty soon or your Mom will be videoing you guys out chasing imaginary butterflies with imaginary nets while the guys with the straight jackets stand by waiting for the signal! 🤣🤣🙏
Hope you start planting soon…for Dougo’s sake!
Love the videos chet, it's my go too every night. Keep em coming. You are all a class act. 👌 Larson farms 🚜 2022!!!! 👍🤘
