I think part of the charm of the X-Men is that everyone has a different favourite character there too. It wasn't until the X-Men movies came out and insisted that Wolverine was a major focus that I saw him in that sort of role.

hhm. no idea who that doctor is, but id rather say that Leo is oxytocin, Michel is dopamine, Don is seratonin, and that would leave the Raph the endorphins. Leo seems to think of the group as a whole, Michel is all about pure fun, Don looks at things with a very inquisitive mind, and Raph is all about getting lost in the emotional blur of it all.

Ehh, I would put Mr. Fantastic in the row with Donatello and Invisible Woman in the row with Leonardo. Sue is usually the one keeping everyone in line and making sure Johnny and Ben don't butt heads too much, whereas Reed was always introverted and kind of shy, only showing real leadership skills when absolutely necessary.

With the 4 humors, it's not that you only have one. It's that everyone has a balance of each, but everyone has more of one than the others. Of course, they actually believed it was a real biological thing, which we now know it isn't, but you can still apply it to personality types.
This also works for the robins in the bat family too: Dick is funny and a free spirit, Jason is a loner and has an attitude, Tim is has a genius intellect and Damian is honorable and ambitious to being the best. Oh and Alfred is wise and a caring surrogate father like Splinter.

Toussaint Gervais Agreed, Flash and Tony Stark also don't strike me as introverts, and the Hulk when you perceive him as Bruce Banner is very introverted, not extroverted. Allthough, you can make a point for the Hulk on his own being extroverted, since the whole point of him is being very different than Banner, but I always see Banner as the character portion of the Hulk. When you talk about a wherewolf you don't perceive the wolf part a personality, it's just animal instinct and rage. Seems to me the Hulk is the same (for the most part at least, the story and logic of the Hulk is kinda fluid since comics have different continuity lines)

Although when you look at the original four Renaissance Masters that they used as the basis they actually got it wrong. Michelangelo was very withdrawn and a loner. Raphael was very reckless and loved to party. Leonardo loved to invent things and is known for his sketches of various inventions. Donatello was the oldest of the four and may be considered the "grandfather" of Michelangelo in some respects.
So, you're saying Donatello leads, Leonardo does machines, and while Michaelangelo is cool but crude, Raphael is a party dude?
Basically. But when I compared myself to Raphael I was referring to the Ninja Turtles version. (Or Michaelangelo in real life.) I love to work with my hands (he was a stone mason and sculptor even more than a painter).
When Eastman and Laird created the TMNT, their personalities were pretty much the same. The individual quirks came out later.
Ok this video was amazing and I can't believe I'm 5 years late to it, but there is one MAJOR flaw. You're really going to say George Costanza is Donatello and Elaine is Raphael!?? What just because George has glasses that makes him the smart nerdy one? Any true Seinfeld fan knows that George is far far from smart and tends to be the angriest out of the 4 just like Raphael. "GEORGE IS GETTIN UPSET!" Elaine is the one with the most common sense and often points out when the other 3 are being stupid/ridiculous.
+Toe Cutter is not about the nerdiest if were jerry you be donatello is about pragmatism and george was the more pragmatic
According to Tv Tropes, George is the Melancholic which makes sense to me. He is vulnerable and emotional, while Jerry is the anchor of the group, the Phlegmatic.

Bc it’s true. I always identified with Raphael. When I was a little girl I never wanted to be like the invisible woman, I had big foam “the thing” cloves that said “it’s clobbering time” when you hit them on things. I think in most groups of 4 it’s very natural to gravitate to the one you’re most like.

So, what are the alignments of our crew? Soren is lawful good, obviously. I'd say Daniel is lawful neutral - he cares that the rules are followed and things are orderly, but whether that's good or not is immaterial. Katie is chaotic neutral; you never know what side she'll take. And Michael, of course, is chaotic evil.
Anecdotally, I’m a Michael(angelo), Air Nation, Sanguine, and Chaotic Good.

What if for women it's not the turtle you want to be but the one you want to be with? If they wanted you to identify with a turtle they would have made girl one as they did in power rangers. I also feel that April O'Neals interaction with the turtles could represent the what the media feels are sexy attributes in a man.
There was a female turtle but she only appeared a few times and the creators have done everything they can to delete from existence. Venus de Milo is her name.

Well, Hufflepuff was pretty much a throw-away house, which was given almost no characterization in 7 books and 8 movies. More or less, it's a house for people that don't have strong enough personality traits to be in the other three. The Mike characters in HP are Fred and George, and they were put in Gryffindor, but a more ill-intentioned version of that archetype could easily be put in Slytherin.

I always imagined their cardinal traits to be loyalty, dedication, hard work... maybe artistic inclinations.
Impulsive=Gryffindor so Mike would be the gryffindor Ambition=Slytherin so Leonardo is the Slytherin
Raph would be the Hufflepuff=since he got sensitive. (I do agree with you on hufflepuff's cardinal traits though) and Donatello is a ravenclaw through and through.

Kyman102 I kinda liked the idea behind her. Using those elemental orbs reminds me of the Chinese goddess, Nu Wa who also uses rocks representing the elements. I think it was a good idea that never got fleshed out properly, which is kind of criminal because the prospect of her style of combat is actually interesting

Leonardo is the Charismatic (and Fearless) Leader and Perfect Soldier. Raphael is Hufflepuff by default - I don't think they were properly fleshed out in the HP-books, but they ought to be dry and sarcastic (like Sprout).
And before you point to Snape, just know that I thought he was too Hufflepuff to plausibly be put in Slytherin at any other time than during the war, and then solely because he wasn't opposed to going there. ;)

Srnuff Slytherin isn't raw emotion, it's ambition. Slytherin's are controlled manipulators, who get every advantage they can get. They make for great leaders.

just watched the newest teenage mutant ninja turtle movie and now laughing because of the sappy speech Raphael give when they all think they are going to die
***** I know that is what makes it funny when they say "Raphael would never pull some bullshit like that" after she goes off say how he is the sensitive one
I attribute that to the fact that Raphael spends most of his time being angry and aggressive with everyone else, so in near-death circumstances his reaction is overwhelmed with clogged up emotions. The emotional scale for him racks very quickly. In many episodes, this was played straight. I think the most extreme case was the newest series where Raphael acted as leader and Michelangelo was knocked out cold. He completely froze up and panicked, rescinded his comments about leading, immediately forgave Leonardo, and was especially relieved to find Michelangelo alive after that.
He was the one who yelled "I love you!" at Leonardo, right? I find it kind of surprising that Michael Bay, who makes these movies that are defined by perpetual male adolescence, has zero problem including moments where one man yells at another man that he loves him. Armageddon is the other one I mean BTW.
Katie switched up Raph and Mikey. Mikey should be blood and Raph should be yellow bile.

They don’t necessarily map perfectly, but it’s not a science. The general pattern is pretty cool, though.

In fact Slytherins are also characterised as resourceful, strong leaders and fraternal. And Raphael is broody and temperamental, what famous gryffindor does that remind you of? (hint: the books are named after him). As if further proof were needed look at the Fantastic Four correspondents. The Thing = Raphael and Reed Richards = Leonardo. I think we both know how they would be sorted.

That doesn't fit. Ambition and leadership aren't iconic traits of Gryffindor - people only assume that, because of Harry. And Hufflepuffs aren't characteristically laid back. They are concerned and rightous. Gryffindors are couragous but also headstrong and cocky.
Judging purely by the character traits it would rather look like this.
Leonardo = Hufflepuff
Raphael = Gryffindor
Donatello = Ravenclaw
Michelangelo = Slytherin

Batman is the Raphael, more willing to go to farther lengths, generally the "darker" one in modern versions but wasn't originally grimdark. Superman is the Leonardo. This is obvious. Wonder Woman is the Donatello. She's not just a super hero, but an ambassador, bestselling writer and general public figure. Sure, a lot of this was then ruined by comics like Amazons Attack, but that's DC for you.
