Once again we're on the same page! Last week I had gotten tired of switching my monitor back and forth from my shoulder rig and top handle whenever I wanted to go handheld, so I moved my monitor to be side-mounted on the top handle. I used one of those tilt/swivel friction monitor bases, but put it out sideways from my top handle (so the swivel axis makes the monitor tilt). I like it, the monitor is in a nice position where I can still use it well from my shoulder rig, but it's just as good handheld. No more having to move the monitor and reroute cables all the time!
Hey Zeek! Great to see you back with another excellent video. Try a rubber O ring on the SmallRig monitor arm. Between mounting screw (place over thread) and the cage. Works a treat. @@pittbrad1780 To load the focus pixel maps for all modes, delete your current MLV App and install a new one you will be prompted to load all the focus pixel maps and accept. Done!
If not, then you can do it manually, msac one of the developers of MLV App has about a video about this, it's very simple: m.ruclips.net/video/G8CSpHnCpK0/видео.html

Accept to load all the pixel maps upon installation of the MLV App. The video mentioned above will help, otherwise a quick way is by enabling 3x3 chroma smooth which isn't always the best option.
Can you please link to the filter you use for the 11-22mm
It's called CITIWIDE CPL 55mm. It can barely be found these days on the new market:

hi! Can you make a review with android sony xperia pro with built in micro hdmi as a compact monitor for eos m ?
I don't own a Sony Experia Pro though..
Zeek on your 2nd eos m body the silver one what is that tripod?
Jessops tripod
I'm just starting to use my EOS M with a monitor but when I connect the hdmi, the screen of the canon goes black and the external monitor displays no signal. I've already tried several modes but I can't get it to work...
@Zeek.
Is there a way I can still use a microphone mount without blocking it because I use a rode video mic pro +
Yep you can add hot or cold shoe smallrig adapters to the top of the monitor mount which as 1/4" threads or if the rode is high enough it will be fine fitting into the camera's hot shoe.
Hi. I have problem with focus peaking when I use monitor the screen became half red. Do you have any idea to solve that. Thanks
Wait… are you powering the monitor with the battery bank? You’re a genius
No i'm not :)
is that the danne june built 2021?
Yep!
Excellent work
Cheers! 👍
Zeek,
I'm trying to follow your settings here. I have a a feelworld monitor, but when I go into 2.5k hdmi (and other settings) I get a clear picture on one side and small horizontal lines on the other. You don't have any suggestions?...I'm struggling to get my monitor to work with eos m and magic lantern...
Send me some schreenshots on facebook or instagram if you can
@@ZeekEOSZ I'll try and send some screen shots to you on instagram...am I using the wrong kind of cable? I thought that I heard you say once that it has to be a 1080p cable and not 4k....
is there any way to set up the ML menu preview display on the ext. display? I don't know why my eos m cannot do that. thanks.
Can the monitor record externally from eos m?
You mean wirelessly? If so, then no. The EOS M doesn't have wifi.
@@ZeekEOSZ no, i mean via hdmi like atomos..
@@jenchieri8353 Okay, yeah no it can't. I have the Ninja V for my Pocket 6K & other cams, but unfortunately its not compatible with the Eos m. Won't work at all.

Hi Zeek, Thank you for your great tutorials! I have been using the EOS M for some professional work recently, since I simply love the colors. I even shot a whole festival movie with that:

When making the concert videos I realized that I need a monitor to be able to focus quickly even in bright sunlight. Could you please provide a link to the exact build which you have used in this video? I have tried four different builds (including the latest 2022 Oct. build from Danne) and none of them works with the 1080p mode - I get a black screen. And with the high FPS mode it works but the liveview is even more stretched out compared to the camera screen. I have followed all your advice switching off the focus aid and 3x toggle.
Hows the autofocus on these M / magic lanterns
I kinda want autofocus on one of my cams. Currently using blackmagics with no AF
