The Most TERRIFYING Bible Verse Explained | "Lord, Lord" Matthew 7

  • In this video, we examine a passage commonly cited by those who oppose salvation through faith alone. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." What is the "will of my Father"? Does Jesus teach contrary to eternal security? I pray this video provides clarity and dispels any confusion concerning this subject. God bless! -OD

Question Brother. Do you have to Know Jesus to Be Saved? Not trying to sow doubt, and am willing to be corrected.
The only thing I would say is It HAS TO Be GENUINE Faith. Do you agree or disagree?
I agree Yes, you are Sealed when you Believe. But can you Believe in Him without Knowing Him? Genuine question.
Many people have only an idea of Jesus in their mind. The idea that the world has put into their mind. Meaning they know about him, but Dont Know Him. And from this point they Believe .So this is the danger. Putting faith into a false idea of Jesus rather than HIM. So the question becomes, How do I Know i Know Him?
      1 John 2 3-6
3 We know that we have come to know him if we keep his commands. 4 Whoever says, “I know him,” but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, love for God[a] is truly made complete in them. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him MUST live as Jesus did.
      This ties into Matthew 7:23
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      So here we can see:
Lawlessness is tied to Not Knowing Jesus
Obeidence is Assurance of Knowing Jesus
Can you please make a reply or video for Verse 1 John 2?

    Wow!!!
I believe a lot of people. (Myself including) don’t/didn’t understand that Gods will is for us to believe in His son. We are looking for something mysterious of his will like becoming this or that. Or doing this or that. When it’s actually simple as believing in Jesus.❤️ thank you Lord

Amen! This is something that has been on my mind lately because I feel like sometimes as Christians we can get caught up thinking/asking “what is Gods will for my life?” And in a sense it kind of immobilizes us and paralyzes us because we feel like we can’t move forward until we know His will. But like you said, His will for our lives essentially is no mystery but pretty clear. To believe on the One He has sent. Jesus Christ. After that we pretty much are given freedom to do whatever we want, excluding sin of course though we still fail. But yes, maybe there is no secret, mysterious, specifically curated and unique will for our lives other than to trust and believe in His Son Jesus Christ. And to live a life of gratitude and love towards Him and our neighbors 🙏🏽✝️🩵.

@@Findtherealjesus2025 It really doesn't take a genius to understand the gospel or to study the Bible a lot. I'm sorry I didn't make myself very clear. Some people are even pastors who miss the true Gospel and still backload works to grace through faith to be saved by saying you also have to stop sinning and go to church regularly to be saved. And they supposedly have studied the Bible a lot. The Gospel is simple to understand as I was saved as a child in early grade school and hadn't read much in the Bible but I was taught the meaning of the cross and what the penalty for sin is and that it took a God-man to pay its wage for everyone as a sinful human couldn't redeem us as it took perfection to do something that great and that Jesus' perfect blood is all that it requires to have eternal life. Learning just John 3:16 by memory as a 6-year old did it for me. Ephesians 2:8-9 cinched it for me. But many people start off thinking its the law that saves in the Age of GRACE so are confused about the Gospel when salvation is just by faith alone, sight unseen. When Jesus was born, things changed.

I listened to a sermon the other day from a Pastor that I absolutely adore amd respect, but he made me question my salvation. I believe whole heartedly in the finished work of Jesus, and that he paid it all on the cross. I'm in a really dark place right now, and I admit that my flesh has the upper hand. I'm hating myself daily because I feel like I'm in a rut that I can't get out of. I feel so distant from the Lord, but there isn't a day that goes by that he's not on my mind, and that I'm not reminded of how I'm messing up. The pastor said that if your live isn't reflecting that of a spirit filled believer then the spirit isn't in you, and that you're not saved. This just seemed so off from how he normally teaches. I don't want a pastor that sugarcoats and excuses sin, but it seems like he is now teaching a works based Gospel. I'm so confused, and really feeling lost. I want my life to bear fruit, and I want to be witness to others, but I'm a failure. I need prayers, please.

Hi Ono, I’ve been enjoying your very refreshing and biblically sound teaching for some time now, and it has very much helped bring forth peace and reassurance.
I understand that we, as believers, are sealed with the Holy Spirit, eternally secure, and that He who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion, and that no one can snatch us out of His hand. Therefore, having said and knowing that, I understand this may be redundant, but I feel that it’s essentially one of the only questions I still have left:
Can someone who comes to believe in and put their trust in Christ alone for their redemption and the gift of eternal life, yet later in life renounce their faith, and decide that they actually hate what they believed in, and proactively spend the rest of their life causing others to stumble convincing them to blaspheme and not to believe, still be saved?
Again, I know that I may be redundant here, but it’s the only scenario I find some difficulty with; someone actually no longer wanting any part of the kingdom anymore and causing others to stumble, for which it will be better to have a millstone tied to their neck and cast into the sea.
I would very much appreciate any biblical insight you may have to this genuinely curious question, let alone even a video addressing such a matter.
Thank you for all that you do and God bless you in your ministry!

You cannot lose your salvation. No one can pluck you from the Fathers hand, that includes yourself. If you could lose your salvation then God would have to lie, GOD cannot lie, you are promised ETERNAL LIFE.
So if you went to belief, then changed your mind down the track and then changed back to belief, that means you plucked yourself outta Gods hand for a while.
      God bless

@PTP that's a great question and one that many people struggle with. As another commenter stated, no one can pluck us out of God's hand and that includes ourselves. Since our eternal salvation is dependent on Christ alone and not our continued faithfulness, in the scenario you described, that person is still sealed by the Holy Spirit. That cannot be undone. It will make for a world of hurt in this life, but that person's eternal life remains intact.

Lord Jesus truly is the stone!
It amazes me how many times I stumbled in trying to do good works to earn or maintain my salvation, and with all that pride I had, saying how one must repent, and get all self-righteous, rather than simply trusting in him like the foundational rock that he is. And because of thst, I've haven't found peace.
But since I'm finally gaining a bit of understanding on the gospel, and placing my trust in him, there is peace. I still stumble a little here and there, but yeah... I know God's got me.
It's as it’s written: "So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic." Isaiah 28:16
As well as this: "And he will become a sanctuary and a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to both houses of Israel, a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem." Isaiah 8:14
And lastly, this: "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; The Lord has done this, and it's marvelous in our eyes." Psalm 118:22-23

There whole life they casted out demons and prophesied in your name they must have lived a life thinking there doing the right thing. If these people did all this work they must have read the bible every day you would think they would know that they must believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and god raised him up on the 3rd day did they not pray everyday I do love the lord but at the same time I fear him..

Hey brother, I came across the verses from Matthew 24: 48-51 last week. After reading the parable about the faithful and wise servant and the evil servant I noticed that I felt fear and uncertainity after reading those verses that Jesus Himself has spoken. I had the same feelings I had in the past reading Matthew 7:21-23. The reason was that I didn't understand those verses at that time and therefore they made me fear. Now I understand them. The Word of God clearly says that once we are saved it is impossible that we loose salvation and once someone is born again he immediatly obtained everlasting life and this life cannot be lost or taken away from this person. But I don't undrstand about who the verses in Matthew 24: 48-51 are?
Bc to me it sound like the Lord is speaking about a born again believer who has fallen back into the cares of the word and sin ...therefore he will be counted to those casted into the lake of fire which cannot be because that's impossible and against the Word of God and his promise of eternal life that we have in Him. I know that my interpretation is wrong because the Word of God says that the eternal life can't be lost once someone is born again. This person can't be cast into to lake of fire. I'm just lacking understanding. I know that saved believers are saved eternaly and that salvation can't be lost. Do you have opinion on Matthew 24: 48-51 ?

I think that the works cited in Matthew 7:22 ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ " are to be linked with the works of faith cited in Mark 16:17 "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; ...". This means that these people once believed but their faith collapsed. They listened to the words of Christ, but did not put them into practice (see Matthew 7:24-27 where Jesus explains why he will reject them). They did not put them into practice because they misunderstood them. Matthew 13:23 "But the seed sown on good soil is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit ..." Hence the vital importance of understanding the word of God and therefore meditating on it every day in order to bear fruit and keep the faith until death.
Psalm 1:2-3 "But his delight is in the Law of the LORD, and on His law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding its fruit in season, whose leaf does not wither, and who prospers in all he does."
John 14:26 "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you." => the Holy Spirit teaches us when we meditate on the word of God. « I will bless the LORD who counsels me; even at night my conscience instructs me. » Psalm 16:7
Ephesians 4:14 "Then we will no longer be infants, tossed about by the waves and carried around by every wind of teaching"
2 Peter 3:16 "Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction."
John 8:31-32 « So He said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” » => and you will bear good fruit. To be a disciple of Jesus is to have faith AND to cling to his word. By meditating on the word of God, he ends up understanding it and putting it into practice (bearing fruit). And therefore this strengthens his faith which will better endure the trials of life.

It’s so funny to me that preachers claim they know the Bible and always skip over or over look the fact that believing in Jesus is the only requirement to get to heaven yes we should live a good clean life BUT non of that saves us..the gospel is so simple🤦🏽‍♀️ Jesus did the hard part all we have to do is believe

    • @mikefun7482
      @mikefun7482 10 месяцев назад

I agree, Belief and faith are two different things, those who say "Lord, lord" obviously believe that Jesus is lord, but to have faith in him and what he has done is different. If you have faith, you will be born again, when you are born again, you will not continue in sin without repentance, if you do, you were not born again which means you have no faith. Having faith in Jesus is the single requirement, once you fulfil this requirement and surrender to Jesus, he takes care of the rest, he changes you, makes you new, changes your desires from wanting to sin without repentance, to repenting everyday.
We can't have any role in our salvation, we just can't, the one purpose of God's grace is for HIS glory, if we have any role in our salvation, then we get the glory. All we need to do is surrender to God by having faith in the one he sent and Jesus will take care of the rest. This is my belief and I'm not going to pretend that I am more knowledgeable than you but this honestly what I think. Once I had true faith, which was pretty recently, my desire to live the sinful lifestyle I was in was taken away, not because I wanted to change, because I truly didn't, if it was up to the old me I would be high right now jacking off to porn, but God and God alone changed that desire in me, I simply cannot believe that I had any role in my salvation or change of heart.

@@mikefun7482 repentance is a one time process..there’s no way any of us can “repent from our sins” because repent means change of mind and we’ve already sinned..which means our destiny is hell UNLESS you repent ..and belief and faith kind of go hand in hand because we’re saved by grace through faith and if someone believes in Jesus they’re trusting him what he’s done to save them..(trust is a synonym for belief)…the way someone becomes born again happens the single second the put their trust in what Jesus has done..I don’t think your really understand because based off the first half of your paragraph more specifically “ when you are born again you will not continue in sin without repentance, if you do, you were not born again, you think you have to prove you were born again ..which you don’t..maybe you need to change your mindset when it comes to salvation

    My thoughts.
I never knew you means there was never a relationship. How could there ever be a relationship if we are not known of him? If he doesn't know us, then, we don't know him as well. Whoever knows the Father knows his will, which is to believe on the Son. Whoever knows the Son knows the way to the Father. Whoever has the Father has the Son. Whoever has the Son has the Spirit abiding in them. And whoever has the Spirit abiding in them has the power of God in them. I never knew you also means they never had the power of God in them. Therefore, the miracles they did were not done by the power of God hence the reason they were referred to as those who do lawlessness.

As a child, I would have dreams in be in many nightmares where underground tentacle monsters could sense my slightest movement and impel me,
wars, dreams of persecution, the grim reaper, things would get wild. I remember calling on the old testament name of God Jehovah, and I remember things
did not end well for me when I was being assaulted by a witch. However, ever sense I was a child the name of Jesus has never failed me, when I began to call on his name
Even recently, a spider demon with a human face around the size a 42" TV was crawling on my wall when I awoke from my sleep.
I spoke the name of Jesus quite a few times and I attained Mercy unto myself, for that because Jesus has the authority for this reason.
John 3:35 " He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
1 John 2:23 "Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also."
I believe that God cares for his creation and dosen't want to lose them, because I believed in Jesus and had the humility to honor his name many times throughout my life.
I attained mercy through the New Covenant, agreement, or Testament. Only parts of the old still apply. The old prepared place for the New.
I believe Love is many things, and is doing many things read 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (KJV) and study the langauge of the time (Middle English) and do for yourself an order of operations properly like you would use in Algebra. A few things I believe Love does it when you matter greatly it is a kindness(: an act to preserve and help you), that never lies to you.
I will always believe in Jesus and will burn anything that comes against his word in my heart.
I should add when I saw Mr. Spider Demon (Who had the face of a man with spider legs) I was in great fear and panic, but when I called on Jesus and continued calling out his name and like in any good relationship with enduring faith and belief I attained peace and serenity by his mercy.
    John 1:1-5: 14 "
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." (Darkness in hebrew is often a metaphor for ignorance.)
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Proverbs 4:19 “The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.”
A concept of the word is the idea that is behind it or what should pop into your head by what the author is meaning. If you do not have the idea of the word correct you have a misconception and it changes the whole story.

Hello. I found your page today and I have enjoyed listening to some of your videos. Your video making a distinction between salvation and discipleship was particularly helpful and encouraging. I wanted to ask you a question; Have you ever read The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer? I started to listen to it on an audio book and it seems like he believes that salvation and discipleship are the same thing. I have only listed to the intro and the first chapter, but I was bothered by his apparent conclusion that if a believer is not a disciple of Jesus, then he must not be saved. I was wondering if you are familiar with this book. Let me know when you can, thanks.

.3- i was baptized but i have said the sinners prayer about 20 times over fear and anxiety and i am a fighter i try so hard to study the word everyday and i pray God hears me ive been through so much in my life. and from watching this video your saying God had already known if i was gonna be saved or not before i was born. so if people aren't saved some of them why let them be born thinking there saved that's unfair. i Believe Im saved i Just think the good lord is upset with me and wants me to know him better

    • @GiftofGrace88
      @GiftofGrace88 10 месяцев назад +2

What you are saying can be accused of backloading works. The reason some folks will say it is backloading is because you are still adding works back into salvation because a Christian life is not without work, as if a life need works to show evidence of salvation. Your statement contradicts itself. It is possible for a Christian life to be without work depending on how you define 'work'. Good works that earn rewards are built on the foundation of Jesus Christ that are tested with fire as explained in 1 Corinthians 3. However, 1 Corinthians 3:15 also states 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
That means a man's work can suffer loss of rewards, but that man is still saved because he believed on Jesus Christ.
Romans 4 explains that you can do ZERO work and your faith is still counted as righteousness before God.
4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.
5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

1 John 3:23,”And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.” Born again when you believe Jesus is the Christ;1 John 5:1,”Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?”
