I want to thank you because I met a pastor recently who shared this verse along with other things and for days I felt very heavy depression and torment. It's really crazy how the devil twists every single word of God. Often in my life there is a pattern of me not feeling good enough, rejected, and insecure. Sure enough the devil used that to his advantage. I couldn't stop crying today about it and I told my husband I feel like I'm not doing enough and that I feel like I'm going to hell. He saw that ever since meeting this pastor my whole vibe changed and I wasn't myself so I looked up an explanation to the verse and The Holy Spirit truly came through you to deliver me this message. Even while watching God reminded me of that time when Jesus was on the cross with the two thieves and one of them tells Jesus, "We deserve this, we are disgusting, but not you son of God. You haven't done anything wrong." and just because of his profession that he is a sinner and that Jesus is Lord, Jesus gave him everlasting life. The sinner didn't do any works. The sinner didn't even go through a deliverance process. Automatically by professing with his heart those words he gained the Kingdom of God. Hallelujah praise the LORD the most high
Don't you find it strange that when interpreting the bible, we tend to doubt our interpretation until we find someone who interprets it as we want it interpreted, or in a manner that makes our life easier or allows us to sleep better at night? You are probably right to think you are not doing enough. Few of us are. The issue we have, because we really do know we must do more, is knowing exactly what it is we should be doing. The bible give us plenty to do. I am not preaching to you and certainly not passing judgment. But take account of your life and realize just how much time you spend solely on your own self-satisfaction and comfort and realize that it would take very little sacrifice to give some of that time and energy to the will of God. I am in the process of doing that as I write this. What I am finding is that it takes very little time, effort or resources. And the will of God can be quite simple and certainly rewarding. Ask yourself what would Jesus do? That's really about all it takes. God bless! And just to add, yes, many protestant preachers misuse this passage. And I'm not picking on protestants because I am one. But depending on the preacher, you will get varying interpreations of this passage. Even within the same denomination. The Catholic church interprets as I described above, which I think is the accurate interpretation. Certainly nothing to be afraid of. If anything, as you may mention this to that pastor, this passage is really speaking directly to those preaching the word of God, but not living in accordance with the will of God. If anyone should be scared by this passage, it's your pastor.

I saw a short of someone using that verse in a way where he was trying to make us evaluate ourselves and I didn't feel to good about it and I decided to seek context and I found this. Ty brother and God bless ❤ I, like everyone, is struggling with sin, and we will miss the target until the day we die. Though we will get stronger in our spirit over time to where the sins we struggle with degrade into obedience in the Lord. Fear not brothers and sisters, if your in Him then your with Him.
If you feel uncomfortable, then you are not at peace with the way you are living. Are you loving God? Are you loving all people? If not, you’re currently a worker of lawlessness (commandment breaker). Ask Jesus to help you in these areas.

He took it completely out of context and taking other verses out of context to combine it with these verses in order to confuse us as to what Messiah is saying then gives us an erroneous conclusion. The context is the Sermon on the Mount which begins with Messiah telling us to keep the Law, even the least of the commandments. (Matthew 5:17-19) Next, Messiah expounds on the Law. Then at the end of the Sermon on the Mount, He tells us what happens to those they think they are saved but do not keep the Law. (Matthew 7:21-23) Shalom!
You cannot know somebody unless you have a relationship with that person. Knowing Christ isn't going to get someone to be with God in heaven. It's about relationship.

@@GaryDisciple Paul highlighted the human struggle we experience. He knew that even those with God’s Spirit still had human nature and have to resist the selfish pulls of the flesh while seeking to obey God’s law. Paul summed up this struggle when he wrote: “I love God’s law with all my heart. But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death?” (Romans 7:22-24) He gives the answer in what immediately follows in verse 25: “Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin” (Romans 7:25) Continuing on in chapter 8 he says: “So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death” Romans 8:1-2

That young man gets much right but still misunderstands some. The Lord is NOT speaking of Himself when he says "but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." as this video claims. Neither are reformed preachers saying you must do this or that to be saved. However, all true Christians will show evidences that they are TRULY saved (they love God's Word, love biblical preaching, love learning about God, love other Christians, love the church and having fellowship with other Christians, love to pray, and love to share the Gospel). Those who had false conversions do not, and never examine themselves to see if they are truly in the faith. God tells us to examine ourselves that we are in the faith....(see 2 Corinthians 13:5,2 Peter 1:10-11) not for works for justification but evidence FOR OURSELVES of that justifying work of Christ in us and that is in our sanctification. Evidences of true salvation is not works. It's not the perfection of your life, but the direction that demonstrates we have true faith and will not be the ones Jesus spoke of in Mathew 7:21-23, which are simply religious false converts who relied on their "good" works thinking they had earned salvation and Heaven.

How I would know that I was in Christ, if I didn't examine myself? In this video, he tells us to stop using our works for asurrance that we are in Christ. How then, do I interpret "2 Corinthians 13:5-7"? If I wan't to know that I am "in Christ", and I am not allowed to follow "2 Corinthians 13:5-7" because it is legalism, how am I supposed to do it? I just mean, how do you know that you have been truly saved without the self examination that the bible teaches? Is it like a special feeling inside or something? Or do I just assume that since I said I was a Christian, I ignore santification, and just live as normal? I don't understand, and this video doesn't tell me how to proceeed in my walk, bypassing the self-examination. Does anyone have a verse that puts 2 Corinthians 13:5-7 into a different context? And of course, “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20), and a dead faith is not a saving faith. Thanks. Not works salvation, not legalism. Just Salvation by Grace, and being able to know I am saved.
You are saved one time, by grace through faith. There is no "walk" needed, as that would take away from the redemption and justification that Christ did on the cross. Faith alone, plus nothing, minus nothing.
So, then what do we do with the rest of the bible, all the stuff about walking in the spirit, all of the things about reproof and instruction, evangalizing, WHY DID JESUS SAY WE WOULD DO GREATER WORKS THAN HE DID? The problem many make when reading this passage is ignoring the language "workers of lawlessness - evildoers". This passage speaks only to self-deception and hypocrisy. It is not defnining the will of God nor is it removing the performance of good things on earth from the will of God. It is not telling us that simply believing in God is enough. It may be, for some. But certainly God's will requires us to live on earth in accordance with our belief and faith in salvation. Which will certainly manifest itself in good works, deeds, thoughts or other on this earth. The key parts to this scripture is 1 we know those who say Lord Lord are believers in Christ. We know that they also did works in the name of Christ. We also know they were given prophesy. Buuuttt the very last line that says i never knew you, depart from me, YE WORKER OF INEQUITY(king James)....or Go away from me, you lawbreakers! (New English translation).. God doesn't need us to do his work. We are to follow him, worship him, and do as he says. The individuals he speaks of who say Lord Lord... Were those who believed but did not keep the law. That's why he calls them lawless and why he says he doesn't know them... He doesn't know them because they most likely didn't keep the Sabbath, feasts, and followed teachings that say the old testament laws are null and void. This is how I read this verse.
For us, we are under Jesus’s law, which is still God’s law. Love God and love all people. If we don’t obey commands that result from abiding in Jesus, like Jesus says in John 14 & 15, we are officially workers of lawlessness/iniquity.
You abiding in him is keeping his commandments, because its the act of being covered in HIS perfect blood. You need to strive to be Christ like but when the time comes you present HIS life and HIS blood that covered you. NOT your own just like matthew 7 : 21-23 says. So when he say you who practice lawlessness, thats all of us. No matter how hard you believe now, you sinned in the past, you probably sinned today, even in your mind or dream and you will probably continue to fall into temptation. So if you present your own life youll get judged according to it. God will count your Truly Good Deed on two hands and then pull out a book with 1000000 bad things youve done. John stated the same thing another way..WHO EVER SINS HAS NEITHER SEEN HIM OR KNOWN HIM. 1 John chapter 3: 4 Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him. Read the full chapter for context) it's not about works, it's about obedience. Obedience is not a works based salvation. People should not be convinced they obedience is working their salvation which will lead them to hell. When we do fall, we are called to confess. Confession of sin is not works based, it is an act of faith. I have sinned, i have fallen short, therefore unworthy I need forgiveness, I need the Lord's mercy, His grace.

This means that if we have repented and come under grace and then slip up and sin, we are still under grace and do not immediately return to being under the penalty of the law. Though continuing to struggle with committing sin as Paul did, we are not condemned with each new sin. Rather, as Paul says, there remains “no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” (verse 1). With every sin and subsequent repentance a Christian does not repeatedly drift back and forth between being under death and under grace. We remain under grace, with “no condemnation,” as God still accepts Christ’s sacrifice as our atonement.

@@coltonlevi4385 You abiding in him is keeping his commandments, because its the act of being covered in HIS perfect blood. HIS perfect life that he lived gets put upon you, when God looks at you he sees HIS life not yours. YOU WILL NEVER BE GOOD ENOUGH. Because youve sinned and will continue to sin. So if you present YOUR life, he will judge you according to it and you will fail. You have to present his life that he laid for YOU. But if you have the holy spirit you need to fight against temptation of the flesh, and you will feel the spirit fighting aswell. You will stop sinning regularly and be conscious of it. That is stopping the practice of lawlessness that Jesus talks about. You also need to stand back up if you do fall into temptation. You do well. Even the demons believe and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only"
I am far from perfect, I mess up regularly and kick myself after but I keep trying, and every day that God sends is yet another chance to try again.....and again....and again 😥
So, what about examine pur faith? Is faith (sometimes so called faith) enough? Dont we have responsibility to submit ourselves and carry our cross leaving worldly things behind (or try every day) after believing in christ?

Many people giving a message complicate the Gospel ❤. Usually you can identify this message of 'works' because it has little to no mention of the Gospel. Some people will not believe God. The end. It doesn't mean to smack the law over the head of those who already believe, but have some sins they wrestle with.
36 years of deeply studying the Word of God and KNOWING this passage passionately, Mat. 7:21 this is the scripture that took me from my famous days in Radio hanging with rock stars and movie starts this scripture - turned my life around!! It shows its NOT Religion, what you do (Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works) its RELATIONSHIP - "get away from me, I never knew you" - do you have a RELATIONSHIP with God, or are you a fake christian. THATS THE MESSAGE!
We should have a holy fear of the Lord psalm 103:11-13 Fear of the Lord comes through faith which is by God's grace Ephesians2:8-10 . Phillipians 2:12 along with James 2:14-26 makes it clear works follow a truly regenerate heart not that they are from us but that we allow God by his power to do them through us and in us.
Jesus repeatedly speaks of obedient faith. Matthew 7:23 is not the only place Jesus says this Kind of statement. Very similar teaching in Matthew 25:1-13 & Luke 13:22-30. The context in each of these passages is salvation. And clearly Jesus is speaking of those who were in his kingdom. Please don't dismiss or explain away the clear teaching of Jesus. There are two stages of Salvation taught in the New Testament. Initially we believe, repent & get baptized. The second stage requires works demonstrating a person's faith. Both stages are totally based on God's grace. Notice all the verses about salvation in the past tense, then notice all the verses speaking of salvation in the future sense. All scripture is God breathed. If you only focus on faith verses about salvation, then you are not being spiritually or intellectually honest. God gives his grace to those who Love him. (James 1:12 & 2:5) Jesus said, 'If you Love me, you will obey my commands.' (John 14) When Jesus said, 'I never knew you,' he's saying, 'You're a stranger to me; I have no relationship with you. He's saying, You never spend time with me & you don't obey my commands.' For example, Jesus saw Nathaniel under the fig tree praying to God and he was known by God. (John 1:48) Also, 1 John 2:3-6. John says we know him (Jesus) when we obey his commands. This was written to Christians. People already saved. Galatians 4:8,9 ; knowing God & being known by God are simultaneous.
@@GaryDisciple You can trust in yourself if you have that much confidence in your goodness an ability to keep the law perfectly. I know I will never meet God's expectations perfectly. they asked Jesus, what must we do to work the works of God and Jesus said to them, this is the work of God,that you believe in the one that He has sent.
Saved by grace through faith nothing we do it doesn't matter how you live when it comes to salvation Jesus Christ is the one who save us its pretty simple.
Hi Samuel, you’re a passionate perspective on Matthew as a powerfully, strong message, indeed. We can only rely upon the grace of God through Jesus to be saved, and not through our works. I’ve always found in looking at scripture we need to pull deeper meanings together, and be sure that they all fit according to God‘s word. Although what you say is true about how we will be judged there is a transformation that needs to take place in one’s heart through the power of the Holy Spirit. That is also what Jesus is referring to here Since some people, although, perhaps well intended initially, are still basing their own salvation on their works, and not necessarily the quantity. The whole purpose, for God’s creation was to have relationship with us, and to know us, in the true sense of the Hebrew text from Genesis … Does God truly know us through our connection with our transformed hearts? That is the other element of this passage that needs to be emphasized. Thank you brother for your passion. We don’t want to have believers who have excepted the grace of God think that they can go about their lives in any way that they wish , You certainly know the other passages in scripture that refer to this blunder. Shalom!
Look up John Wesley's sermon number 33, on Matthew 7:21-24. Study his sermons 21-33. The only way to bring revival is actually to UNDERMINE the salvation of professing Christians, until they break in pieces in true repentance and surrender at the foot of the cross, and then, truly saved, bring forth fruit. That's what all the revivalists did, Jonathan Edwards, George Whitfield, John Wesley, Charles Finney and every other evangelist during the great awakenings. This is the ONLY way that revival will come. Just as every move of God was preceded by repentance preachers, as John the Baptist was sent to preach repentance before Jesus and then Jesus himself preached repentance, in such a way, as in the sermon on the mount - to this day the law of God magnified in its spiritual nature and application - shatters us into pieces if its understood correctly because as Matthew 7:24 onwards says only those who fulfill the sermon on the mount show evidence they are the children of God, no one else. So again the only hope is the kind of preaching which UNDERMINES false salvations, and also brings backsliders to repentance.
Hi Samuel! Thank you for that wonderful explaination of Matt.7:21-23! The false interpretation takes our eyes off of Christ and focuses on our "good works" which means nothing! As you read through Matt 7 from the begining, verse 15(beware of false prophets) through verse 23 seems to be connected which would add more evidence that Jesus is condemning works based "salvation", which is no salvation. Your thoughts on the connection? God bless, Sam
Samuel the whole point of Matthew 7 is that you can't Play God because it's the heart that matters. Many people do claim Christ as Lord but they misuse His name. Exodus 20:7

I'll make it even easier - What is the will of the Father (i.e. requirement, wants, commandment)? The will of the Father is to Love Him and Love others - Fulfills the Law and Prophets. The only thing Christians should be worried about "doing" is loving. If you answer the question, "who do you say I am" in the same way Peter does, then the will of the Father is to Love God and Love people. Simple. Only out of love can the work that is done be recognized by God and transform others.
1 Corinthians Chapter 15 1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Not by good works alone but by Faith you’ll find Salvation. However, Faith without works is useless. You still have to do the works after accepting Jesus Christ into your hearts and that He is The Lord and Savior.
I'm realizing this essentially means the exact opposite of what I've been led to believe. I always thought it was talking about Christians who didn't do enough good works, but now I'm realizing it actually is talking about people who relied on their own good works to get into heaven, rather than trusting in Jesus to do so. Thank you, brother!
Thank you. And yet this verse is meant to search your soul if you really are in Christ, covered by the blood of the lamb. Because there will be many who know of Christ, but are not in Him. 2 Corinthians 13:5 says: Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you fail to meet the test! Not to dicourage the faithfull, but to discern if you are a true believer. Because so many will not seach their hearts and will say they are Christians without having Christ. So truly being in Christ is the answer.

(Matthew 7:21-23)

FIrst you are saved. Period. But, then you pick up your cross daily.

The problem many make when reading this passage is ignoring the language "workers of lawlessness - evildoers". This passage speaks only to self-deception and hypocrisy. you think that when Jesus tells us to do his will, that means we should GO SIT DOWN? NO! HE MEANS FOR YOU TO DO WHAT HE ASKES, WHATEVER HIS WILL IS!
Faith without works is dead James 2:26
Ephesians 2:8-9 for by grace have you been saved, and not of yourselves; it is the gift of god. Neither of works, lest any man should boast
HIS perfect life that he lived gets put upon you, when God looks at you he sees HIS life not yours. YOU WILL NEVER BE GOOD ENOUGH. Because youve sinned and will continue to sin. And according to that, are you a child of God or of the Devil....Devil. But if you present the life that Christ lived for you and gave FOR YOU, then you did the EXACT will of the Father because Christ only does what the Father wants him to do. God is perfect and you can only be with him if youre perfect, and the only perfect person and life was Christ. But if you go back into consious sinning like your old life it is said that there no longer is a sacrifice for sins. Meaning you wont be able to present Christs life as your own, because you turned away.

I grew up in church. I'm actually a PK. I've never heard this passage of Scripture explained as you have explained. I listened to everything you said and you are 100% right. I was one of those ppl using this passage of Scripture to get them to really examine their lives which is not wrong. But this passage of Scripture should not be used as a "scare " tactic, or, to get them to do more "good works." Thank you brother. You have enlightened me.

So well said dear Sir. Thank you
This means that if we have repented and come under grace and then slip up and sin, we are still under grace and do not immediately return to being under the penalty of the law.
Finish Romans 8:1 verse. “who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”. This part is key bc obeying Christ includes no works of the flesh, but the Spirit lives.
exactly, its when you go back to your old life of practicing lawlessness, thats when the sacrifice goes away
@@Anony584 Finish Romans in totality.

But if you go back into conscious sinning like your old life it is said that there no longer is a sacrifice for sins. Meaning you wont be able to present Christs life as your own, because you turned away.
This is powerful and truth God bless you

"But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only"
Abraham was justified by works in the sight of man not God
@@bigal98761 If that was the case, God wouldn't have asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac to prove his faith.
They do not beleive in this, aparantly. Or “Faith without works is dead” (James 2:20), and a dead faith is not a saving faith.

But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. From what I’m coming to understand, there are several levels of heaven! There is outer darkness…where there will be weeping & gnashing of teeth, then paradise; the outer court, ( apparently where most believers will land/live! ) & the holy place…& most holy place , where very few have walked this walk & closeness & obedience w/our Lord❤ thoughts anyone?
i thought it was heaven 1 is atmosphere, heaven 2 is space, and heaven 3 is where God resides and where we will go, ( paradise )
Many people giving a message complicate the Gospel ❤.
Usually you can identify this message of 'works' because it has little to no mention of the Gospel. Some people will not believe God. The end. It doesn't mean to smack the law over the head of those who already believe, but have some sins they wrestle with.
Thank you so much for this video. Jesus Christ is Lord!
Of course the majority of Christians still can't understand the doctrine of grace.
amen brother.. John 6;28-29
Amen brother. Love this. been seeing this float around recently. Always irks me.
Amen, this is amazing!
(James 1:12 & 2:5)
Jesus said, 'If you Love me, you will obey my commands.' (John 14)
When Jesus said, 'I never knew you,' he's saying, 'You're a stranger to me; I have no relationship with you. He's saying, You never spend time with me & you don't obey my commands.'
For example, Jesus saw Nathaniel under the fig tree praying to God and he was known by God. (John 1:48)

they asked Jesus, what must we do to work the works of God and Jesus said to them, this is the work of God,that you believe in the one that He has sent.
Shalom!
This could only mean one thing and that is the Father had known only the Son, but, now that everyone who has the Son is also known by the Father.
HalaluYAHUAH in YAHUSHA HA'MASHYACH'S name I am grateful for your video!!❤️💯
Thank you for making this clear!
God bless brother!
Samuel the whole point of Matthew 7 is that you can't Play God because it's the heart that matters.
Many people do claim Christ as Lord but they misuse His name.

Thank you. This was a short and thorough video.
1 Corinthians Chapter 15
1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.
God bless you Samuel.
There was something or someone talking in the background have a listen at 2:33 please can someone tell me what's going on the background
