What’s up man! Great video. Do you know the weight rating and size of the gas struts on your hood hinges? I got a set of hood hinges from some douche bag from Self Made Fab which I suggest or do not recommend ordering anything from that guy guy. He’s a clown, but of course I installed the hinges and the the back of the hood sticking up further than it should and the gas struts will not hold my hood up. On my struts it says they’re 80 pound rated. I moved them on the outside like you said in your video and that kinda helped with the hood laydown but the hood just will not stay up so it looks like I’m gonna have to order my own struts, so didn’t know if you knew the weight rating and the size. Thanks ma’am.
Does the hood sit flush without any gas struts on it? If it does then it could be the struts, if it doesn’t then that means the bracket it too high. That happened to me on my first set of hinges I ever installed. I’m not positive on the weight and size but you could connect with Noah at switch suspensions to find out. noah@switchsuspension.com is his email. Great guy.
@@SIMPLE.C10 yeah when the struts are off, the hood sits flat. But also on this guy’s bracket he has two groove marks that sit on the firewall that they can sit up or higher. It’s weird.
I wish I could send you a picture of it because they’re the only hood hinges that I seen with the grooves. It’s almost like where you mount that strut to the firewall now imagine that hole having to be an L to where I could slip up or sit in that hole if that makes sense
These are built from 1/4 inch steel. Super beefy! Not a doubt they would have any issue holding the hood. Thousands of trucks have these without issues so I wouldn’t worry about that if you’re considering purchasing. Thanks for watching and commenting. I really appreciate it!
Clearest install tutorial video for these I have seen yet!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
I like this style of video. Very informative and great explanation of every step.
Thanks a lot! I try to be detailed.
Great Video !
Thanks a lot!

Cool, but man that seems like some weight on a hinge that small..
