I loved the sight and sound of the of the '50. As a schoolboy in Carlisle during the 1970's I enjoyed watching them hauling the express trains before electrification, often double headed.
Excellent video this was one of my stomping grounds in the late 70’s into 80’s years ago you could spot all night.always said the fast line at Doncaster is the number 1 .

Excellent program and a friendly narrator, a good yorkshire lad in fact. I grew up in Huddersfield and in the sixties was often found on station platforms in Leeds, Doncaster and York with my trainspotting book. Now live in Winnipeg, Canada and your program brings back lovely peaceful memories. The DB 67 was there earlier in the night! Where did you find to stable for the 4 hour layover? Those 66's of yours are like our NR class here in Australia, with a fleet of over 100 they pop up everywhere. Top and tail will do me for doubles. Well done lad, I did enjoy it!!!!!

I have just watched your 24 hours at Doncaster. The video is great, 12 hours train spotting is hard work but 24 hours is amazing. After speaking to you at Doncaster and wishing you good on being able to stay for 24 hours. I was very surprised by how freight still comes through at that time

I don't do this for the money so what little I make will be invested back in 👍 The intro crawl is usually a bit slower but I had to speed it for the clip I had this time which has made it a little too fast, i'll keep this in mind for future though thanks!

@@Leonard_Smith I normally use a Rode shotgun mic, unfortunately I didn't have it whilst in Donny (or the past couple of months) as it's been back to Rode twice as even in a slight breeze it's been breaking up and dropping audio. I've just received a full replacement so hopefully going forward the videos will be back to top audio 👍Fingers crossed anyway!

Some great stuff, i dont get out as much as I used to, due to Mobility problems. So it great to see whats going on. Acton Bridge was good, even got to see our Train running (Varamis Rails 321 334). Keep up the good work.
That’s sad to hear Alan, glad my videos can at least keep you up to date. My late Grandad started to not be able to get out and he found railcam to be a real bonus so he could still “spot”, if the sounds like something you would enjoy. Great to see Varamis running, the more mail by rail the better!

Excellent video, looks like some of the trees may of been cut down in the triangle towards the end of your video. Freight trains travelling on this route are often missed when viewed from the station.
Thanks David! You’re right I noticed virtually everything on the triangle island had been taken down since I last went. Makes a couple of spots a bit more viable to catch everything going into Roberts Rd. and up that way.

Yeah think I just got unlucky, the manager in the day said he would have let me stay but ah well. I went to the road bridges but they felt really sketchy so I went for a coffee, dropped a few heavy bits from my bag at the hotel my missus was staying in and milled around outside the station. Pint was so good I thought I better have 2 or 3 to make sure ha. Cheers Douglas.

@@DiggleJunction Yea, its VERY sketchy around Donny at night, especially around the Market place... used to work in Donny regularly, overnighted in my lorry there a few times! I personally wouldnt have travelled there by train, i would have gone in the car, at laest that way you could have got yer head down for a couple of hours!

The 465 could be classed as South of London (kind of). Slade Green depot is in Kent/SE London.

Thanks David! You’re right I noticed virtually everything on the triangle island had been taken down since I last went. Makes a couple of spots a bit more viable to catch everything going into Roberts Rd. and up that way.

Well done. Was wondering if you was able to stay on the Station when it closed, however you did tell us. How did you kill the hours between 12.30 & 4.00 am ? The Pint look good as well
Yeah think I just got unlucky, the manager in the day said he would have let me stay but ah well. I went to the road bridges but they felt really sketchy so I went for a coffee, dropped a few heavy bits from my bag at the hotel my missus was staying in and milled around outside the station. Pint was so good I thought I better have 2 or 3 to make sure ha. Cheers Douglas.

Got it in one haha. I went over to the hotel my missus was staying in too to empty some stuff out of my bag. Bit sketchy at night around the station tbh.
@@DiggleJunction Yea, its VERY sketchy around Donny at night, especially around the Market place... used to work in Donny regularly, overnighted in my lorry there a few times! I personally wouldnt have travelled there by train, i would have gone in the car, at laest that way you could have got yer head down for a couple of hours!

Thanks a lot mate. Geographically Felixstowe is a little north of London but I did miss the unit move to Slade Green so you’re right I should have got an extra tick 👍🏻 my mind was a bit frazzled by that point I think ha.

I tried to get up on the car park but wasn’t allowed so tried both road bridges so I could keep filming, one was too high and the area around the other was way too sketchy so I dropped some stuff out of my bag at the hotel my missus was staying at, got a coffee at a 24 hour McDonald’s and hung around near the station lol.

Pretty much par for the course around Donny now sadly. I at least expected more 70’s. Hopefully a trip to Barnetby next time will give us some more variety.
