I am watching this in a small mid-western town. However, I am mentally transported back to the Italian bakeries I would frequent in my hometown in northern New Jersey. My Grandmama from Abruzzi made these every Christmas. I’m so happy to see you make these! Her recipe was slightly different in that she used walnuts, no chocolate, cooked the filling down, and made them in long tube shapes. Makes a wonderful jam! Wonderful memories! Buon Natale🎄

Could I use a maple syrup reduction in place of honey? My daughter is vegan and would love to make these.
