One day,I saw your video accidentally, now I have been watching your videos regularly. This is the beauty of internet or RUclips that we came straight into your kitchen which was not thinkable 20 years ago. As usual every human think, eat feel in the same manner whether he is in Ukrain, in Afghanistan, in China, in Brazil, in turkey or in India. Thank you so much for having expressed your thoughts so beautifully! The world is one and we are all brothers and sisters. We must celebrate our differences and appreciate one another! 🌹
Omgosh, beautifully stated. Bless you! I love this snack/meal, lol. Sadly, Im not a fan of eggplant. Instead, I use mushrooms sometimes, or just 🍅, garlic & basil. Love roasted bell peppers. I love the paper bag method vs the plastic bag used the last several years by many. I was taught to wrap peppers in a wet hot cotton towel. Paz be with us all 🙏. "Isa"
Old school Chef here, Kudos Mom and Daughter. Professional kitchens would be honored and wise to learn from you. Shining example of culinary excellence and traditions. Thank you!
What I love about your channel is that you are perfectly integrated in the American culture, but retained your culture and language. And then passed it all down one generation. I like this much better than other channels where the host only speaks a local dialect, their English is painful, and their kids say stuff like muzzadell.
My dear RUclips Friend, Thank you for your thoughtful comments. I feel that out of respect for any language, one ought to speak and/or learn a language correctly and well. I also cringe at the fact that being illiterate in two languages is considered “charming” and pronouncing a foreign word incorrectly is acceptable! I have spoken to my daughter exclusively in Italian since birth, and to be sure that her English was always as fluent as her Italian, we placed her in a Montessori pre-school when she was 2 1/2 and had the desired results. Passing my language to my daughter was very important, but never at the expense of her own native language! Best Regards, Giovanna 🌹
It is wonderful to see generations working together in a family enterprise. It is not something that one sees much anymore. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge, experience, stories and cooking skills with us. Your entire family is delightful,
Thank you so much for making me wake up to you guys. Beautiful food and beautiful smiles! How beautiful is Nicoletta!! I love your smile, I smiled right back at my TV 😂😂
Oh that looks wonderful! These earthy flavors are what summer bounty is all about. Your daughter looks like an excellent cook too! I'm glad to see you back Giovanna!
What a great joy to watch you both cooking and serving your wonderful dishes to Pappa! Brings back such lovely memories of my Calabrian and Sicilian roots! And it is not even all about the food for me. Watching you cook is like watching a beautifully choreographed performance with such skill and precision .The little nuances like toasting the bread on the fire and chopping the garlic in your fingers just authenticates the whole legacy of Italian cooking skills. I just found you, and I will watch all your videos with great joy! Thank you to whomever films and edits. They do a great job!
Dearest Carmela, Your name is dear to my heart because my maternal Grandmother was also named Carmela, and having had four Sons, each of them ( according to Sicilian custom) named their daughters Carmela! Thank you for watching and for your beautiful words! The filming and professional editing is done by our brilliant Granddaughter Francesca!
So delightful! The flavors seemed to jump off the screen. Such attention to the attractiveness of the dish was amazing. And I’ll loved the comment…not a date dish LOL❣
I love watching your videos Giovanna, it brings me back to my childhood watching my grandmother cooking my favorite Sicilian meals. The roasted peppers under oil ,the eggplant, the caponata, stuffed artichoke, the arancini, and I can't leave out the zeppole..sooo good. I love all your meals, great work!
What a pleasure to watch! You remind me of my family’s way of cooking!! It was always a total pleasure to watch, help out, & learn directly from both my mom & especially my grandmother!! Their experience & cooking knowledge was pretty immense, so it was extraordinarily exciting to hear about the dishes they loved & prepared for our family & extended family get togethers! This show has that special feel & beauty!! Thank you!!
Ahhh! Just found you today and this is about my 5th video!! I agree with you about the roasted peppers! We do them on the barbecue grill and blackened them, however! Thank you for the tip about the paper bag! I did not know that! I am so grateful for your videos! Your knowledge and tips are so valuable! ♥️ from Canada Bella! 💋
From what I can tell by watching your lovely videos, it seems that your "Kitchen on the Cliff" is somewhere in NJ on the Palisades, looking across into the Upper Riverside section of NYC or perhaps further north towards Yonkers, Hastings on Hudson or maybe even Tarrytown. I lived in Westchester County NY for about fifteen years and your lovely videos remind me of the incredible array of Italian/Sicilian food available in the area. These bruschetta are particularly appetizing and remind me of warm spring and summer afternoons when we would visit our favorite local Italian delis and bakeries and get all sorts of prepared cold marinated dishes, fresh mozzarella and different cheeses, fresh bread, pastries and cookies and a bottle of good wine and mineral water and go have a picnic somewhere beautiful near water with a great view. Your careful instructions and advice on preparing Italian food reminds me of visiting friends homes and enjoying their mother's or grandmother's or aunt's lovingly homemade Italian/Sicilian food. I miss your food and culture from the Tri State area and your videos are like a trip back in time to my wonderful memories. LOVE YOUR POSTS!
Dear Rusty, I love your name, because it was the name of a beloved High School Friend, now gone 🌹 You are absolutely right, we are Palisade dwellers, we welcome you to our Kitchen on The Cliff and we thank you very much for watching!

Watching your husband I thought of my mother! She used to always say, "I not talkin' while the flava lasts" she had a Boston accent!! I miss my Mom..She taught me how to cook. She was Polish and my father was Italian. They met and married in Boston in '44 and moved back to Texas after two cold snowy winters! My dad didn't like shoveling snow! He was born in Waco, TX and was raised in Dallas where I was also born and raised. I live in the country now for almost 30 years here with my horses dogs and cats! My five kids were raised here on the Fivehands Farm and they've all gotten married and living their own lives! I made homemade ravioli last night until 12:30 AM, my comfort food! It was delicious today for lunch with my homemade sauce, a nice salad, and bruschetta!! 🍷 Ciao! I enjoyed your video very much! Your daughter seems so very nice!
Thank You so much, Annette. I enjoy hearing your stories and remembrances of years past in family harmony. Enjoy life at Five Hands (Cinquemani) Farms and keep making our delicious Soul Food!
Everything about this video is perfect, the simplicity of, the easiness of, I love the kitchen and the home, family feeling to it, the volume of the soundtrack in the background, the mamma like tone of voice, the deliciousness of the recipe, the way she talks, the humbleness of it all, it´s about passing on to us their tradition and history, not one bit pretentious and snob, so, so good and it even brings you a sense of peace, absolutely awesome. Amo questa signora e la sua famiglia.
Thank you for a lovely video! I loved seeing the two of you cook together and then enjoy it with the three of you at the dinner table. It looks delicious!
I grew my own produce for this summer just for your recipes and my own favorite Korean dishes. I can’t wait to use all the peppers, eggplants, herbs and tomatoes ! Thank you so much for sharing another great recipe to cherish and to share with my family and friends. Your channel is one of my very favorites.
Thank you for the video and lesson! Made these tonight, had to make some concessions for the olive salad but it was still delicious (went with some baby artichoke hearts per the recommendation, forgot the sun dried tomatoes, but it balanced out and the herbs and olive oil really stole the show). It was a good way to trick my dad into eating something healthier too. 😉 He loves bruschetta, even though he still says it wrong (just about everyone where we live does 😅). We ate so much for an afternoon snack that we couldn’t be bothered to even think of dinner. Wishing you all great health.
Delighted to listen to the family while preparing this, can not wait for bruschetta dish; do it myself. YUM. Another addition to my Christmas holiday menu. Your complexions are clear and fresh. Quality ingredients. ❤❤❤😊
I char a lot of vegetables making salsa. I put my vegetables in paper towels or clean kitchen towels, then into either a paper or plastic bag until cooled. then the skins comeoff with the toweling it's way easier than peeling itoff, which I've done before. Until next time much love.💖💖

Dear Giovanna, what a beautyful view over the river. Your recipies are delicous as ever. Best wishes at Germany❤❤❤ I wish you a long live and lots of fun and power with your work. I sample cookingbooks, one of yours will be the next.
Bruschetta is one of my favorite dishes. You guys did it exactly the way I like it. I bookmarked this vid for future reference. Another excellent and inspiring work! Thank you for sharing.
Just had a chance to see the video today on my list to make and of course your rice balls ,I bought the molds . Love your daughter and you and your cookbook 🌸🌸🌸.
Oh, it’s so wonderful to see you all!! The bruschette look incredible. I’m going to try them. I’m wondering how I can make the peppers since I don’t have a gas stove. Maybe broil them? Anyway, best wishes to you all!! 🥰 Marlene
Yes. I think that using the broiler is a good possibility, but more work to get them evenly charred. This is why I've always had a gas stove, because my family and I love roasted peppers! Let me know how they turn out!
I was so disappointed in the food we had in Italy. The bacon was served raw everywhere. I thought how sad I like American Italian food better. I’m afraid it was all tourist food. This looks phenomenal. I grill my tortilla the same way. My other favorite bruschetta is goat cheese with green tomato preserves that I made. Definitely trying these!
The olive salad is amazing. Made it for a get together tonight. I didn’t have dry cured olives and it wasn’t worth $6 in gas to go get some. I used kalamatas.
Your daughter Nicoletta speaks excellent Italian. I'm impressed.
I have spoken to her exclusively in Italian all her life. But she attended a Montessori school from age 2 1/2 to be sure that her English was equally fluent.

Presentable and palatable
I love the video. I learning and enjoying the process. Delicious. Thank you both.
Thanks to my friend Dorothy! ❤🌹❤
Burnt toast, that’s memories of my Sicilian pops.
We treasure those memories!
I can’t wait to put what you just taught me into practice
Lovely!👏🏼👏🏼 thank you for sharing this with us!🥰
My pleasure. With the abundance of delicious summer vegetables, you could make this treat easily and often.
Just like my Dad, Romolo Pagano, used to make! 🥰
Yes, of course, l would have done the same!
