My 14" bars saved me from giving up riding. If my hands aren't at least shoulder height I can't ride more than 100 miles. I don't know why that is but it makes me wonder how riders have called it quits because of the stabbing pain of riding with stock bars. Watching your videos you've touch on the benefits and it's 100% accurate!
That’s nice I heard if it’s to low it makes your shoulders hurt. To high and you start losing circulation
did you have to get extended cables
@@onOnewheel_jay Yes, new clutch and brake cables. Nonetheless, I still highly recommend
I just want to thank you for making such detailed videos... I just finished up my 14" bars on my streetglide... Thanks alot and as always keep up the good work👍
payless work mates!!! incredible work with this video for all community over the world. Congratulations and thank you from Spain.
Thank you for doing this video. It definitely helped my decision on what bars to go with.
I run 15" bars on my 2015 Road Glide, perfect ride. I'm 6' and run a Saddlemen seat with a 10" Klock werks windshield.
14 in ape hangers on my 2020 lowrider had a little problems but got them solved and love them they look awesome😎
thanks bud! now i know exactly what size to pick up!
Thanks man.
That's what I needed to see.
Extremely helpful video, thank you👍🏼
As always, thanks for the great video. Much appreciated.
These are videos that really help you. Good job 👍
Just bought a Softail Slim S. I’m coming to you this summer to get those bars! I’m a few hours away from your shop but I enjoy your videos and ride across Texas to get that Pro Quality 💯
Been trying to decide between the 12" and 14" bars and this definitely helped.
Thanks for this video. Very informative
This helped a lot, Thanks✌
great videos!, i reciently purchased a Softail street bob and your videos are super helpful!.
I searched the topic to hear some compressed exhaust but this was more useful and informative so thank you 😂
Thanks for your effort 👍🏼
Thanku bro loved every vid you posted aye helped out a whole lot more viewing tonight
Thanks for the video.
Awesome videos. Can't compliment you enough.
Thanks for making
Great help. Thanks you 👍🏾
I owned a 1973 Honda 750 four with King Queen seat and 15” ape bars. It was semi-chopped and the control you had over the bike with these bars was just great!! I had a few panic stops because of other vehicles that stopped purposely in front of me, or turned broadside in front of me, and these 15”ape bars allowed me to have control even when because of no ABS the rear wheel was at almost 90 degree angle and I was still able to come out of it and stabilize.
Great video, thank you
Awesome Video
At 5-10 I have a lower profile Saddleman 2-up seat on my Softail Deluxe. With 16" HD Apes they appear more like 18" because of the lower seat height. I could not be happier with how comfortable they are compared to stock handlebars! To each their own, but it's been my experience that when people who talk poorly about Apes actually try them they are amazed at how much more comfortable they are than stock bars.
Great Video!!!!
Greta video. I have 16s I was debating on going with. I think you made my decision
A very helpful video 👍👍👍👍
I noticed on the last set of handlebars there was play when you pulled back on them, are you using solid bushings for that setup, and are you planning on doing a T-Bar setup video soon? THANKS FOR SHARING
This video has solved such a dilemma for me. I haven't been able to decide what inches to get based on how it looks installed with someone actually sitting on the bike. Think I'm going to go with 13 or 14 inches. Thanks!
Great idea! Love this video, Yall should Definitely do a part 2 where you show the side view longer for each one (clips were really short) a back view and a front view would be great too! Just an idea.
I’ve ran 16s on 3 bikes. 2 with mustang seats the other with a saddleman. I’m 6’ 2” they are perfect plus I like wide handlebars
Awesome! 👍👍👍👍
I love the 16s on my road king. I am going to put 18s on my CVO
20" bagger bars on my electra glide.
had 16" on my cvo ultra classic but wanted more
Love my 20s on my 88 evo heritage
In the 1960s, I ran Flanders ape hangers which were approximately 14" high. Those bars were just above shoulder height with me on the seat. I was pulled over by cops more times than I could count. Eventually, I switched to a lower handlebar.
Cops don't pull folks over for ape hangar height much anymore...at least, not in the 25yrs that I've been riding, I've never heard anyone complain of it...as long as they aren't 20 or more where it's crazy, I doubt any1 would have police problem with tall bars
I love the ape hangers they sell. He has video on how not to pinch wires but sent me damaged kit. They did send me replacement switch and wires but it shouldn't have happened. I do like them and they did fix. My chrome app are very low amount of chrome at the lower bends but not that bad. So I would say great apes just need to work on quality control.
This video answered all but 1 of my questions, I would like upgrade my metric cruisers stock beach handle bars to 14" tall 1" OD apes can you help me?
Great video! Thanks I ordered some 12” bars and thought they might be too high for me. I’m about 5 10” but watching your video they should be ok,
Ya. Because a You Tube video validates your preconceived notion.
great video to judge what a handlebar side profile looks like! thanks guys
Right. Because handlebars are all about looks.... Right?
I think the 12" bars are actually shoulder height for you.
I agree.
i am 5'5" on a 2011 Road King with 14" apes. It is about shoulder length to me. Very comfortable ride on the hi-way but not great on the twisties
I have 1.5 14" apes on my street glide. They were on it when I bought it and thought thats the first thing I was going to change, but I love them now that I've riden it!
What brand are they?
@@j.vosier6786 they're either paul yaffe or FBI (fat baggers inc.) They're the classic style
everyone has different comfort ranges. I like mine as tho I am resting them on a table, this also allow for most movement when handling the bike, too high and my fingers start to tingle and between my shoulders start to fatigue. even with all this I am looking for slightly higher on my road glide but only 2-4 inches at max. also some people can get thinner seats or a seat lowering kit which will also change the arm position.
Could you do a video on the 2018 breakout 114 with a range of 10 inch through 16 inch bars?
How do i measure to determine whether i have 1- 7/8 or 1/2 in handlebars?
Do you have a video on this?
I’m looking for apes for my Chief dark horse 14 inch. Any suggestions of bars and location for install let me know. Out of San Antonio.
out of all the bars you showed, which one do you prefer the most and why?
Thanks
I have a 2020 fxbb and I bought some 16” narrow apes, but having trouble finding out if I need to also buy wiring extensions along with an extended upper ABS front brake?
Hey brother do something on different TBars sizes shapes n for different rides ,performance n cruise. I got a hotrod bagger with a DRAGON T143 in her n I'm thinking something like a dirt bike style with a riser for comfort n performance, I need something so I can lean back more since I have a lot of back issues.
Please show a roadking install with 18
Great video. Sadly I'm trying to come up with a good solution for my '12 NRS. Drags bars are killing my shoulders. I'm not sure how the Vrod would handle apes. Mid controls also. I might be hooped on this.
I got 18" ape (including riser) on my street bob & they're preety comfortable to ride & I'm 5.11" tall
Looks good can you put 18" ape hangers on tri glide?
When I installed my 16' bars I remember thinking I wish I'd have went with 17' which I did find. When all said and done with some nice risers and labor, seems like I had right around a thousand bucks in the whole sha-bang. Nothing's cheap these days.
Hello, i have an 01 Springer softail, i am 5’11”, do you have an idea about what size Risers would be ideal for my bike if i was to buy your 16in kit? Or 14in kit and what size bars/risers do you think would look best on my particular bike, Thank you!
Any chance you could do a handle bar video on tri glide
*hi dumb question here*
I have a ‘12 roadglide ultra, how similar is the bar heights / seating to the newer bike shown here ?
You should do a similar video for t bars
Which bar would you recommend for someone who is 5'8? I got a 2015 Iron 883.
Sir, I am enlightened by your videos. I am 5'9". Is 18inch ape hanger height okay for me?
I have a 2015 Street Glide CVO, I like to get the 14” inch ones, my question is will I be able to install them myself or will it has to be installed by a H-D shop?
I have 2019 RG Special. I'm 6'1 and 16's are perfect for me while using a lepera streaker solo seat. Alot less cushion on the seat and i sit further back than i would with that crappy stock seat. I also use the lepera maverick 2up daddy long legs for when my ol lady comes with. Great seats for taller guys. You must take into consideration what kind of seat you have as to how high you go with your bars. I wouldn't want 18's on my bike with the style of seats im using.
I’ve got daddy long legs seat on my 2011 road glide. Thanks for sharing this. 16” bars it is
I ordered a settlemen saet for my street glide but I also want different bars
I'm 5'5 using a stock seat on a Yamaha Stryker and thinking going with 14" apes, any suggestions are appreciated, Thanks!
I’m on an 04 1200r, I’m 5’11 and can’t decide between 10-12. Also the rear end sits on progressives so it’s not slammed and I’m hoping it won’t look stupid with big bars? Any suggestions?
Does anyone know if you need cable extensions with a 10" bar on a 13 steet glide. i like the way that the 10's look
Can you make brake hose and clutch hoses for my vtx 1800
The 20s" actually look fitting on that ST
I am looking at 14" for my 23' Ultra Limited. Will I need to change the cables?
Woow maan I just love ape hangers
Can you suggest a 14" Ape that has minimal pull back or wrist angle. I want to keep my wrist as straight as possible. I am 5" 11". Bike is 2005, HD Deluxe. Great video. Thanks for the help.
Can you suggest a 14 inch bar where my wrist are straight forward? Thanks
"I'm 5'11" on a normal day." Little shorter hungover? Little taller pissed off? Lol.
That's the best comment I've heard anywhere...
I do a bit more than watch videos and don't feel the need to validate my work with the approval of the You Tube crowd. Wanna race? Grab your best apehanger bike and see if you can hang in Vanocker Canyon. " LOL"
@@ranchodeluxe1 Maybe you should stick to racing on the track. "LOL"
Hi, I'm 1,80cm . What do you recommend on a 2006 Fatboy? With the originals I'm always curved and my back hurts. They recommended 10 inch so I don't have to change the cables
I got 2022 Road King Special I am similar height to you at 5’10” What would you recommend for height to get me comfortable?
I'm 5'9 and have a 2015 Fatboy. I bought it used, and it came with a set of handle bars that I haven't never seen before. I want to go back to the original style handle bars that came with the 2015 Fatboy. But' I'm not sure what they look like, and I need help trying to find them.
What handlebar it's perfect for a 5.1 tall person on a road king 2006 ?
I'm 1.88cm (about 6'2), and I'm not sure if I should get 12" or 14" to put on my Virago 250
HI , SURE WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW THE PART NUMBER FOR 2014 SOFTAIL CVO MINI APE HANDLEBARS , it is my nightmare to figure what is best . thank-you
Would 10's wrk w 6' in risers or do I need to change risers?
Old school Shcwinn nostalgia
Is there a reason why the bars are always mounted in what looks like a straight up position? Is there a problem with having them pulled back so you can relax against the back rest? I use to own a Dyna Wide Glide with factory ape hangers, forward controls, and King and Queen seat. I considered that the most comfortable bike I’ve owned. I just bought a 2017 CVO Limited, and the riding position with the Factory 10” bars is uncomfortable. I can’t even get support from the back rest because I’m hunched over. I’m thinking 12” or possibly 14”. I just want to be able to do long pain free rides again like I could easily do on my Dyna.
Im about to buy a harley street glide with 14 inch handle bars and im somewhat on a new rider lol should i be nervous? I rode a lot for a short period of time but that was years ago 😅
12 & 14 inch its good actuality...👍
Time 1:29 What size apes are those on that bike? I would like to order a set of those for my 2011 Harley Davidson xl 1200 x 48
I’m 5”6 on a 22 road king special. I got no clue if I should go 12 or 14 I don’t want to get this wrong any info would Be appreciate. Thanks
Looking for 14 inch bars for a 2009 FLSTN with a bat wing.
I’ve got 13” lucky 13’s on my street bob with stock seat and they are shoulder level and I’m 5’8. But I’m planning on getting a two up saddle men or the sundowner from Harley. So I’ll probably have to go with 18’s on the bar. Because I’ll be sitting higher and closer to the bar.
I just bought a 2024 softail standard very similar to the street bob… I plan on buying a saddlemen seat .. just want to ask , should I just go with 16” apes? Or should I go with 14” apes? … I’m 5’10 and do mostly 200 miles on weekend and some commute to work, gym etc …..
Starter bike was a Honda shadow 1100 with like 12 inch ape hangers
Would 16 work on road king classic ? I'm 5'11"" tall
12s will be just perfect on my 2020 Street Glide Special
Just curious, how tall are you?
@@mikeessary4925 6 0" / 183cm
I'm 5' 10" tall. What do you recommend for riding a 2016 1200cc Sportster and a 2014 Fat Bob
May as well go for the full outstretched flying squirrel bars and highway pegs package.
I'm working on it as we speak. I'm 5'6" with 17 inch ape hangers on my 2010 Road King classic. I'm about to get the highway pegs installed soon
I'm thinking about something like these for my bike. My concern is that instead of resting my hands on the grips lightly to control the bike, I'll wind up gripping the bars to hold my arms up and that will affect the inputs. Is that a legit concern or am I over-thinking it?
For a 5’8/5’7 guy what would you recommend like 14 16 right??
