I can't believe how civilized Sabu is.... he was an animal in ECW... and I say this in an awesome way.
He looks like one of my late Uncles who drove motorcycles...SABU WAS LEGIT.
He's not always so civilized.
He threw a lawn chair at me when I was 11
I met sabu a few times . dude was nice af. Shook my hand we chopped it up and smoked a joint. Small house in WI.
Smoked a joint with him after a show he worked for us lol
Good good dude
$250,000 in 1995 was ALOT of money. Vince wanted Sabu BAD... I cannot believe he declined that for ECW...
I admire his loyalty, sad that Heyman apparently screwed him over
Even if Saba was asked to dress as Doink the clown he should have taken the job.
Id have to hear Vince McMahon say he offered him that kind of money to believe it.
He’s an idiot. That’s indeed a lot of money and for what? You got to take care of you ultimately. F the fans.

How did you do that?
@@poorchristopher15 Pretend like you're telling time, but without writing am or pm; but simply 12:14... ... ... PM, lol...I was bored and lazy (not wanting to watch the entire video every time to revisit what each superstar had to say), but also interested in what different wrestlers had to share...
@@outcast668 heroes, capes..... you know, you know the thing.
.. George South
Always love hearing jessie Ventura tell stories.
It's his voice.
He's a true legend
I can't hear him without hearing Anthony Cumia's "I was a Navy SEAL and a governor"
After seeing this, I respect Sabu even more. What an attitude.
He actually said in another interview he regrets it paul Heyman told them they would make millions and merchandise when ecw blew up big never happened always take guarantee in life
soren-- you isn't in, self-- en= plural-- Satanist. And you is, in Sweten!
@Metropcs Metropcs he didnt feel he would be happy with less freedom. He came in later though which opened peoples eyes who didnt know much about ECW.
Considering how insane Sheik was he probably would've beat the shit out of him. Sheik was one of those old school guys you didn't cross.
@Metropcs Metropcs I know that, that's why I said he would beat Sabu's ass instead of outright killing him.
What Raven said was an absolute mic drop. He was spot on.
Except it was number 1 ninja. I watched it as a kid, Warrior diapered that number 1
Let me tell you something about Vince...
When Vince came to Melbourne , Australia in 2002 to promote the Global Warning Tour, he did a quick press conference. About 20 of us mega fans waited outside the building for a chance to meet and greet Vince. When he walked out, he could have simply entered his limo. But no...
Vince shook everyone's hand and took photos. He was in NO HURRY to leave.
As I shook his hand, said: "thanks for entertaining us for so long". Vince said: "and thank you sir for your ongoing support".
Vince is a true gentleman! 100% respect !!!!
All you did was shake his hand for like 5 seconds. Big deal.
I quit RUclips exactly
These billionaire guys like Vince will make an effort to dish out token gestures like this because they understand how easily impressed most people are and they just want a bit of recognition.
Ooohhh he shook and knows my name. So what? Big deal.
When it comes to shit that counts i.e contract time, he’ll fuck you over and make you squirm. He’s an ego maniac and probably a psychopath.
@@robertstraw9881 What else are you expecting him to do? Make you breakfast? Get out of here.
Disregard the negative Nancies, that was a nice anecdote. Thanks for sharing.
"Why did you stay with ECW?"
SABU: "BLOW"
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@Metropcs Metropcs Eh since he said he regrets not going i agree but if he stood by it you could not claim stupidity.
Adam Smith that was quite the dumb comment. Just because you feel bad about something dumb you’ve done in your past doesn’t automatically change it to no longer being dumb. If you regret your comment it doesn’t change how idiotic it was.
What a terrible career move for Sabu lol.
He liked weed not blow
Jess Ventura is so awesome. Honestly I haven't seen much of him wrestling but I remember my dad liked him. Don't care how he is as a wrestler, but as a man he's of the highest integrity and honor
I burned one with Sabu at a independent show.. very nice, down to earth guy!

Imagine Sabu as The Sultan.. feuding with Taker and Mankind. That would have been interesting.
Sabu could have worked for four years and then left
That could have been good
@@kaytrout3836 Out of all the dumb gimmicks The Sultan would have actually fit Sabu well, with the mask and not talking, bringing his hardcore style. It would have worked.
no go
Dominic Omegon I thought the same when I heard it. With his hardcore style he would have gotten a couple years out of it, maybe a ic run
I can listen to Jesse Ventura talk all day.

It must feel good to know when you have Ace In your sleeve against Vince McMahon knowing that you control which way it's going to go!
Vince is infamous for always having Ace up his sleeve and controlling the narrative and where he wants it to go!
Respect to Jesse Ventura
Ask bret
How sabu explain how vince warned him about ECW`S future means how damn good vince was back in the day.
LOPS666Orange if a company only lasts 4 years then yes at any point it “could be gone tomorrow” stop trying to find things to argue about you aren’t right
@The618Crew right
How many lines did you do before this interview?
Buff - "All of it"
Ask Sean Oliver, he could tell ya about little old Marcus!
Jesses a legend. Wrestler, movie star, governor...what a man. 2 of Arnie’s best films, Running Man, Predator ✌🏾
And a Mongol Motorcycle Club member
Arnold was in nothing but hits in those days but I disagree that those two are his best. I think total recall and Terminator 2 are his best. But yeah that's not putting down those two films as they were great, as were commando, Conan the barbarian, true lies, the original Terminator etc etc. He's had such a career in movies and I don't think anybody will ever have a streak like that again. By the late 90s though it got....bad.
And the best commentator
sleazyfellow Let's not forget one of my personal favorites: Last action hero
And a Navy Seal.
Jesse, so smart, so real.
24:17 Bart should have went the first time to wwf. They had a storyline for Bart and a goooood one
Buff thinks it’s still 1997. He’s been deluded about his actual contributions to wrestling for over 2 decades. Was a midcarder that had 3 good years, but will tell you he was as big as Hogan if you let him.
Agree. For us who actually witnessed him and saw his fights, we know he was no bigger than the likes of Disco Inferno. Heck, even Disco Inferno had more nostalgic value. That dance and stupid, smug look is notorious.
It is 1997 bro.
To me it'll always be 1996!!!
@@thegamersguild9953 The face that you mention Disco Inferno let me know you are a hardcore 90's WWF/WCW fan.
Marcus Bagwell
had no idea that The Goon was Wild Bill Irwin. Used to love watching him wrestle in WCCW
It almost was Jericho...whoa..
The true genius is Jesse Ventura. He understood the concept of how unions, pensions, benefits, royalties, and how it will be to their advantage once their careers slowly decreased. The rest were just looking at the glory and making 6 figures. But when it ends, then what do you have? Hardly anything unless your were able to save your money.
Jesse is right - they need to unionize like the NFLPA, MLBPA, etc.
mae2759 PA ?! Lol
@@misterunperfect4438 "Player's Association". It's their union in all the major sports leagues.
@Randall Glatt At the very least they should be classified as employees so they don't have to pay double taxes like independent contractors do and can also get 401k etc.
This would end up being detrimental in all likelihood. Wwe and AEW could roll with it but all the other smaller companies and independents would tank because wrestlers would have to be in those unions and the small entities can’t afford that. And would guarantee basically two options to work period. Nice in theory but unrealistic.
@@Matt-cr4vvbut there’s small indie movies that are non unionized still around today
Jessie actually played Vince and I’m surprised Vince can sleep at night knowing someone got the better of him
He's talking about Vince Sr. unless he says Junior.
Cody Dymco ohhhh
That just says Vince is intelligent enough to know dont’t poke the bear except when it’s pretend!
Vince made all that money back, Vince is fine.
So whenever Jessie gets interviewed, do the hosts always provide him a rocking chair?
It's a self-comfort reaction. Something in his story is either embellished, fabricated, or left out. His embracing himself and constant rocking help ease the internal discomfort of lying.
no he has always had a tick ever since his younger days
@@grayken9512 bruh I read your comment in Jesse's voice lmao
You notice how he’s always in some type of legal battle with someone
Lol, he rocks when he’s relaxed and talking about happy things, you’ll notice he stops as soon as the conversation turns serious. Most people are opposite, moving more when they are serious. Jesse has been through SEAL training
That picture of Young Rikishi is haunting me
That's was when he had that godawful "Sultan" gimmick
I love wrestling. Means so much to me ever since a kid.
Same I was watching it before I even knew it. It's in my blood I'm even from Cameron,NC i have personally spent time with the hardy's and ricky morton.
Jesse Ventura is a smart man this is why he became governor of minisota animal eating pizza whilst doing a payed interview love it miss this dude already rip to the fallen legends of wrestling 💯♥️
We don't hire talent. We create talent. Great line.
Why didn’t Vince set up deals like 90% of your salary based on your merchandising, cause that’s the fans money not Vince’s money, then 10% of ticket sales.
Great line for a company that cares more about money than wrestling or the employees, or even the fans.
Starting to really show these days.
At this rate, Vonce will still be alive to watch his empire crumble.
It's never been a creative ideal, it's been a talent relations and negotiations ideal. They get to hold it over your head and short change you, and when you try to stand up for yourself, they come back with "you were nothing before we made you"
That's why wrestlers like Jon Moxley, CM Punk, Taz, and even Corey, etc. could walk away and shoot on WWE, because they already had a name, and couldnt be made to feel like they owed something to WWE.
Because they want to own the rights
@John Doe they created stone cold, the Rock, the undertaker, hulk Hogan, razor Ramon, Shawn Micheals dude are u drunk
@John Doe every wrestler you named got big because of the WWE . nobody knew who they were before the WWE lol. So I'm guessing Kane got big in WCW 2 or the undertaker or stone cold Steve Austin lol. Stone cold looked like a gay porn Star in WCW tell WWE fixed up and gave him a gimmick
Animal is a saint for dealing with Hawk for all those yrs. Hawk seems like he could be a miserable prick on a consistent basis
i honestly wish the Jesse Ventura unionization worked
Ahhh the great unionization of Minotanka. The unionization of Bajasota.
Buff Bagwells mom called Buffs work to call in sick for him so he was able to do this!!!
I feel like Buddy Landel did not get Shane Helms' reference, lmao!!!!
Sabu didn't sell out. He stayed with ECW
Even he admits he should have.

He always rocks back n forth. Kind of a tick he has. But I love to hear his stories, the dude is an absolute legend. In ring was too short. He should of been Hogans nemesis. He was for a spell, a very good one too!

Bro Raven actually went to school to be lawyer and passed the bar bt gave it up for wrestling now that’s classic
@@GhillieSuitGang I had to look this up because if true it would make him about one of the dumbest people alive, but it's not true. He wanted to be a lawyer but only got as far as getting a crimnal justice degree, which can be a first step but it is not at all the same as a law degree and he never passed or even took the bar because he never went to law school.

I can’t imagine Sabu being anybody but Sabu lol I don’t think he knows how popular he was compared too the Saultan
Agree, but that doesn't mean he's financially set. He said that he regrets staying with Heyman, and giving up the 250k a year, because Paul ended up screwing him over. He has to keep working, when he could've been retired if he went with Vince.
Unfortunately, he was loyal to the wrong person.

"We don't hire talent we create talent" that's what's wrong with wwe
Yeah the most recent victim of that is Shinsuke, such good gimmick and talent just botched to hell
It's a lie tho because they've failed to create stars and have a long history of stealing talent from other promotions.
@@KingKaper he needs to not sign a new contract no matter how much it pays and go back to New Japan!

Fluffy Blayz lotta moves he’s made in his life have been that way
He could fire him. Not like there was any competition yet. Jesse comes off as a snob here who thinks he got something he didn't.
@@AnthonyClauser you have a point and i do see that. But if I was given the description of vince back then. Taking all the territory and whatnot, then pulling a move like that on him knowing he cant do anything about it, sure he could fire him, but he had movies planned, i think even i would be a bit snobby there, because then I would be one of the few that can say "I made Vince listen to ME, and not him"
@@fluffyblayz9938 I mean, as Jesse said, Vince is all business. He didn't have an ace up his sleeve - not from Vince's perspective anyways. What he had was a backup plan if Vince told him to hit the road. Like I said, it's not like Vince had to worry about him running off to WCW.
I also question how much NBC cared he wasn't around. I mean I wouldn't go so far as to say he is lying, but I don't take it at face value either.
And... If Vince has half a second from firing him (which I believe under the circumstances), why would he be so concerned with re-signing him? Again, it's possible, he fired and pretty quickly rehired Shawn, but it again doesn't pass the smell test.
But this is wrestling. Interviews almost always include lies. It's the nature of the business.
@@AnthonyClauser I believe his story about the NBC show. If I remember correctly it was either superstars or main event anyways Jesse was basically the face of that show along with Bobby Heenan so losing Jesse would be like the show Empire losing Terrence Howard their main star, ratings for the show could potentially drop because his appearance was integral to the shows success. So with Jesse being basically the star of the show NBC bought the rights to air on their Network he just co starred in a big blockbuster alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and slated to star in another movie with Arnie later that year I'm sure Vince felt pressured to appease the network for fear that they'd pull out of their TV deal so he HAD to work a deal out with Jesse
