"It's just what, I do this when I'm sitting in my back yard with my chicken." - eWaste Ben. I love this sentence, and I am quite pleased to have heard it.
I had so much fun watching this bro, thank you for sharing you're awesome life. This is where the saying "Like a kid in a candy store" comes into play 🍬🍭🍬
I wish my city was not stupid and let us put stuff out like yours all that lumber!! I would get all of it! I'm a woodworker and if woodworkers in your city are buying lumber that is just crazy!! I have to jump in dumpsters for my lumber I go to the industrial area for that but I just don't find that much I have to buy most bummer. Love your videos!
Hey Ben, The projector fluid in the lenses is Ethylene glycol. If that doesn't sounds familiar, It should, You have a radiator in your van that uses it. So keep it in a jug and when you need antifreeze just add it to your radiator with a 50/50 mix of water.
I would be taking almost all of that stuff and separate it etc on a rainy day or when you don't feel like going anywhere at all. That's just money that you are leaving for the next person, I am just saying that because that's the reason why we go scrapping is for the money and of course some of us just like everything about it. I don't say that it's definitely not being greedy especially not around there because I have never in my life seen that much scrap just laying around etc, and I see you pass other people scrapping too. I would get hundreds a good day there or at least $500-$600 a week. AWESOME
5:00 she better puts those directly in your van 😁 9:55 lol lurking Ben 😋 PS3 oww, 16:39 i thought your can was self riding to the pile lol Ben in treasureland😎
my best scores and things I have worked and restored on. was a 1.rowe jukebox 2. kids coin operated ride ride 3. snes x 20games, 1 x desktop computer with top of range gear inside.
I picked up a 170$ compressor from the local tip for $5 all it needed was a plug which a dog had chewed off ,I love certain stuff but i dont scrap anything out.
excellent work there! you need a bigger drive! lol maybe a small warehouse unit! lol aww sittin outside with the chicken... thats so cool! 😊 hope you can get the mass of survelance stuff scrapped! maybe you need a volunteer to help with them? just a lend a hand thing, nothin else... kindless of their heart thing. mind you... then you'd miss sitting outside with the chicken on your own!
I was thinking it might be interesting if you could look in to inquiring at the technical trade schools to see about getting an intern or apprentice student to learn the aspects of the e-waste side of the electronics business/industry, adding it to their classes of same with students earning bonus credit and you getting free help, especially when you are backed up, 2 or 3 days a week and a bonus to that may be a paid position as a teacher, not as an employee of the college or tech school but a position under contract. You could even have them go with you on some scrap runs.
@Ewaste Ben why dont u take those Brass chandeliers I saw u skipping about 4 to 5 of those brass chandeliers that’s allots of brass I would take those if was u atleast if u want some good brass
i was thinking about them, not sure now, I just didn't feel like pulling them apart at the time, be different if I didn't have so much stuff here already.
The Nintendo 64 came out 10 years before the PS3. The generation-equivalent to the N64 is the very first PlayStation. You'll get a decent price for that N64 and those games (Super Mario 64 would net you close to 20 bucks by itself) if sold in a bundle, though it would be pretty neat just to keep it for yourself. You got extremely lucky with how clean that system is.
Hi Ben, do scraper in Australia need to be a register business before they can start scraping. I heard that you have to pay tax when you sell your stuff to the recycling.
That Panasonic PT-302 is vintage Video Projection and very collectable, think you better do some heavy research before you scrap that out.... IMHO ... great video awesome finds

That zildjian cymbal that You showed second was also broken. Only the Guy did some kind of repair to it. He sawed a piece out of it to make it sound good a again. So it has almost no resell value. The meinl is also broken at the cup. Were the hole is. The Guy must have played " steel on steel" whith no plastic in between the stand and the cymbal. The fourth looks like one Nice cymbal. And the last looks Nice also but the moste sabians are not that expensive. The zildjian are most of the time the most expensive. I bought here in the Netherlands a copple. And You pay anywere from €140 till €600 For one cymbal. I hope i have informed You a little bit. See you! Jort brunt A fan from the Netherlands
I get through enough stuff through the week to squeeze in a little more on the weekend, this weekend i'm going to scrap tv's on the spot so I won't have as much to bring back, that'll get my pile down
Bom dia meu amigo gosto muito dos seus vídeos um dia quem sabe vou trabalhar nos Estados Unidos com reciclagem pois é o quê eu amo fazer muito obrigado pêlos vídeos abraços amigo.
Funny how much you avoid picking up any trash and willing to make 4 trips back to the van instead of just grabbing the box that might have 1 small handfull of paper or plastic, yet every micowave you pickup you take the glass plate with you. Is it that you have to pay extra for trash removal at your home and maybe recycle the glass plate?
to be honest I don't even take the glass plates out, straight into scrap steel usually, not pay extra but only have limited bin space so I try and keep it down, I get a lot of rubbish from weekday office pickups
That was an awesome day fella...... but, I got you beat, things like this don't ever happen in England, well to me anyway tonight I picked up a BBC micro master computer, complete with cassette and 5 1/4" floppy ..... a shit load of games on tape and floppy, being an 8bit generation kid, I was at a school in 1984 and used the BBC micro B, predecessor to the master was released in 1986 so I never got to use that as I went up to another school. 128k of 1980's history came staring me in the face today and lucky enough, I was first in! Gonna give it a clean and my weekend will be totally consumed with a part of history that I never ever thought I would see again. I'll send you a photo of it Ben if you like, to say i'm over the moon is an understatement, what I mean is, I understand exactly how you feel when you get that special thing. Love your vids mate, can't wait for the next one........ all the best Darren.
acetone either dissolves or weakens plastic you can get it at a hardware store or home depot lowes type store its cheap let the plastic sit 24 hours and you will see lmao
No need for that unless you really needed the copper, plenty easy copper around and we can sell wire as is for same value. Plus what do you do with the left over waste? not environmentally friendly
here in the united states we have a hazardous waste pickup or drop off thats how and also how do you strip the gold and silver off hydroclhoric acid or nitric acid other toxic acids i use vinegar sea salt and peroxyde. thought i would be nice and tell people how to totally strip cicuit boards in one step all thats left is metal and ceramic sorry i'll check myself before i say anything else. Slow money vs. fast money your choice lmao!!!!
You mention quite few times that all of the stuff ends up straight in landfill. This is not the case. The Hard Waste contractors for councils send more than one truck through the area. They generally have a flatbed truck for e waste, and one for mattresses. Two Compactor trucks, one for scrap metal and one for landfill materials. And sometimes one for green waste and one for cardboard (depending on the council contract). The only thing that generally ends up in landfills from hard rubbish these days is plastics, timber and cardboard. The contractor makes money from the metals and e waste that they collect. Just letting you know as you always mention it all goes into landfill but its not the case.
I've watched the truck, the old tv's and stuff go into the compactor and crushed instantly along with furniture and most everything else, they don't pick out e-waste, only scrap steel, it's not viable for them to send multiple trucks, only mattresses and tree prunnings go separate
eWaste Ben yeah mate not sure where and when you saw that happening but they should not have been doing that. I have lost count how many times I have seen an e waste flatbed trucks driving around on hard waste collection morning picking up computers and other e waste. Why do you think councils ask residents to separate general waste, scrap metal and e waste into different piles? I have a photo of one but I can't send it through youtube... I can email it if you like?
yeah some do but not around here, it's just a regular garbage truck, think I got one on video a couple years ago, the whole pile was thrown in, maybe it's just the new style booked pick ups.
eWaste Ben have a look at the Brimbank council hard waste collection page and brochure... it asks for waste to be separated into 3 piles so it can be separated into different trucks easier. Similar or the same information can be found on any Melbourne council hard waste collection page... (www.brimbank.vic.gov.au/rubbish-recycling-and-waste/rubbish-and-green-waste/hard-rubbish-collection)
yes I know what they say council side, but as you can see in the video, piles are never laid out like that, it's all a big mess and brimbank is the truck I was following around, even walked up and watched the crt tv's been crushed with everything else
if that PS3 works you could maybe get 100 out of from ebay (maybe more or maybe less I'm not sure it's just a guess lol), N64 would be the 3rd gen console from Nintendo (Nintendo, Super Nintendo, N64,) and is MUCH older than the PS3 an I really wish I could get lucky an find something like that with games lol
Perth street scrapping is terrible I have been looking for retro consoles to add to my collection and have not found a single one yet especially n64s and gamecubes

OMG ...You have cut of the cords of a brandnew Microwave and a brandnew Vacuumer. oO
You certainly cleaned up there, awesome.
Maaaaaan those are some excellent finds! Jealous!
What a haul, you did great!
I laughed so hard when you asked which console was older the ps3 if from before the 2 thousands and the n64 was from the 90s
I’m just here for the “good day scrappers”
mate you need a tool belt or satchel with your 4 or 5 most used tools to get all those yokes you keep passing lol!
Awesome video love it
I wish my city was not stupid and let us put stuff out like yours all that lumber!! I would get all of it! I'm a woodworker and if woodworkers in your city are buying lumber that is just crazy!! I wish I was good with woodworking, I would fill up with lumber too, the only guys I see picking it up say they just want it for firewood
Teddy bears with their guts ripped out are ❤❤❤ a pound.

Ben 2018
23:49 Don’t scrap the Panasonic projector. Guarantee you could get money for it!
those pcs and the laptop are a nice score and the projector is the best score
Geeez Ben. PAINT IT. 2;29 for a can of spray
the panasonic pt 302 would have cost 10-15 thousand dollars, replacement lamp costs about 350 dollars
my best scores and things I have worked and restored on. was a 1.rowe jukebox 2. kids coin operated ride ride 3. snes x 20games, 1 x desktop computer with top of range gear inside.
I picked up a 170$ compressor from the local tip for $5 all it needed was a plug which a dog had chewed off ,I love certain stuff but i dont scrap anything out.
"Impeccable Timing" Ben.
doesn't happen often, i'm usually the last to a pile
The projector I believe has basically 3 crt tubes in the primary colours but it would be Interesting to see nonetheless
It's totally crasy, Australia is a gold mine for scappers. Awesome !
The scrap u pick up on the weekend can we have a video of u taking it apart plz
Mate that was an epic haul wish we had that volume of junk
22:12 don’t scrap that Panasonic! It’s a collectable.
It's so heavy I don't know what to do with it, no info online about it either
eWaste Ben did you try searching “Panasonic projectors” on eBay. Or search the model number.
Its definitely worth more as the sum of its parts but I really want to seen it torn apart!
Super!!!
You will find 3 small CRTs and 3 yokes in that projector.
Please make a video about that Panasonic projector, it looks awesome!
excellent work there! you need a bigger drive! lol maybe a small warehouse unit! lol
aww sittin outside with the chicken... thats so cool! 😊
hope you can get the mass of survelance stuff scrapped! maybe you need a volunteer to help with them? just a lend a hand thing, nothin else... kindless of their heart thing. mind you... then you'd miss sitting outside with the chicken on your own!
I did have a guy come over once a week to learn how to scrap but it's hard to find someone willing to do it
I was thinking it might be interesting if you could look in to inquiring at the technical trade schools to see about getting an intern or apprentice student to learn the aspects of the e-waste side of the electronics business/industry, adding it to their classes of same with students earning bonus credit and you getting free help, especially when you are backed up, 2 or 3 days a week and a bonus to that may be a paid position as a teacher, not as an employee of the college or tech school but a position under contract. 4:50 hyperventilating with excitement. Your enthusiasm is very contagious :)
I was hyperventilating too...
Another microwave for e-waste Ben . Ha Ha !
What’s a motor worth? Does it have the kinds of metals that recyclers pay extra for?
U made a killing with all those laptops and PCs , cords
The blower is for bouncy houses
how do U get rid of all plastic parts and picture tubes when U scrap items not right at the street where U find them?
Those games are like 50 each right now. The Nintendo. Love love love the book box!!!!!💘💘💘💘💘💘
what to do with a transformer with half aluminum half copper coil, scrap it or sell it as transformer/motor?
I always sell it as a transformer, some just want the copper so they open them but there's probably not much difference in value

RighBread Mario 64 is worth at least $50 for the cartridge only - that’s aus dollar
Hi Ben, do scraper in Australia need to be a register business before they can start scraping. I heard that you have to pay tax when you sell your stuff to the recycling.
no registration to scrap on the streets.
everyone has to pay tax on income
Did you have a semi at 5:39 lol I probably would of
It was a bit like that, it certainly got my adrenalin pumping
Do you get 5 pick ups off the council in Melbourne, or is it just one day?
most areas are once a year, some do it twice a year, others do it every bin day so it's just one or two items scattered around.
What in the microwaves are worth getting? Any better than others?
Mostly we go for copper from the transformers
That Panasonic PT-302 is vintage Video Projection and very collectable, think you better do some heavy research before you scrap that out.... IMHO ... great video awesome finds

this is a crt projector, in australia they sold maybe 100 pieces, that's the mercedes of the projectors back then
yeah cool, maybe I have the only one left? i'll keep it and see what happens, one day I might display it with my vintage stuff, it's certainly interesting, just very heavy.
@eWaste Ben Where Are u From?
Is that your best scrap pile or have you seen better out there?
There's been better, one day I found a line of pc's, nothing else out there, just 8 pc's in a line, all good ones.
Sometimes a pile can be loaded with just good stuff, trick is to find it before anyone else does.
acetone those circuit boards and it will speed up the process the plastic disintegrates but depopulate first..

soak wire in acetone and like magic the plastic is gone saves lots of time and cuts stripping
acetone either dissolves or weakens plastic you can get it at a hardware store or home depot lowes type store its cheap let the plastic sit 24 hours and you will see lmao
No need for that unless you really needed the copper, plenty easy copper around and we can sell wire as is for same value.
