I spent my 39th birthday on Antarctica. We always assumed we'd go back. So far it has been 19 years and it is looking less and less likely. If you have any interest at all in going to Antarctica but keep putting it off because "you'll do it one day" don't wait. Do it as soon as you can come up with the moolah. You never know if you'll ever get the opportunity again. "I need to get to Cartagena" 😂
I almost balked at the opportunity to go to Antarctica because of the price. Now, I don’t think about how much I paid back in 2016, and am filled with incredible memories I would not trade for the world.

Just subscribed to your channel, love the way you break down the costs of your travel and give the break down of extra accommodations out side of the tours. Since i just started looking at your videos I wondered if there was a way to see a break down of year by year, similar to the way you have set out for 2023. To get travel ideas . thx
This video made me so happy. I've been watching your travel films for I don't know how many years but you have definitely been my number one inspiration to go out and see the world. It's really wholesome to see how far you have progressed from filming and editing your journey purely for the love to turning it into your profession and leading several tours this year with people you have probably likewise inspired. My travels have been set back time and time again but I will be going (hopefully) this November and may even be in Colombia at the same time as you which really makes me appreciate how far both you and I have come. Keep up the great content and enjoy your travels.
Sounds like a fantastic itinerary. I’ve done Antarctica (profile pic), the W-trek in Torres Del Paine (hope you get to Fitzroy as well), and Colombia. Some of my best travel memories.

£12,000 should qualify you for a companion ticket with BA if you use the Amex BA credit card to buy it through If you both did it, then you could both fly there and back for the cost of 1 way ticket each... Like for like too, so if you go 1st class, then you pay for 1 seat in 1st but get 2 :)

Hi Karl, if i understand it right you have to book your own flights then the holiday starts? As an amateur is that easy to do and what about transfer from/to airport? Seriously considering Borneo :)
Go for it Stu!!! Go to a travel agent if you don't feel confident about booking flights online. Once you get there it's not as hard as you might think. You will find it quite easy, especially Malaysia, they are really chilled.
The sunset tour in Cartagena is lame, you need to go out to the Rosario Islands. Very affordable and aqua marine blue waters. Let me know if you need a connection. My friends business has 6 speed boats at your disposal
