    My dad is ENTP (I'm INTJ) and you described our usual antics perfectly. He'll just troll people he's known his entire life and they fall for it every time. Then he turns to me and smirks because I'm the only one who has noticed he's just trying to rile them up for entertainment purposes.

    I've seen INTJ's open up to me like they have never done and never do to other types. Sometimes they even seem like extroverts, while to other people they are completely silent. We are really such a good duo and our conversations will never get boring. - ENTP

    I enjoyed the video! My husband is an ENTP and I'm an INTJ and this helped me understand him better, we've been married 20 years and he keeps me interested, it's a good match, but he does annoy me, then he complains all of my being annoyed noises! You are so accurate, he makes sense (usually)to me, but often not to others. He is super smart, but I've found I can win any argument if I really want to as I can get into his weak spots very easily, but for a good marriage, I stopped doing that years ago, I let him think he wins alot because I love him.

      Congrats on finding an ENTP! I swear ENTPs get an adrenaline kick from "winning' a debate against INTJs and you're a good partner to let him win 😅

      I know! Although today, I wasn't as benevolent as usual. I lost it when putting up the Christmas tree, we always get a very tall one 14' and his logistics (once again) for how to best get it tied to the wall, sucked. I was recovering from a migraine and was way behind in work, so I was crabby and had minimal time to spend on securing the tree. Let's just say I could have been a little nicer, but when an INTJ needs to win, aka, get it done, we do. For an INTJ it isn't about winning, it's about being fed when someone is wasting our time and we have very little extra. I think that might be why we can cut to someone's core very quickly and matter of fact, our frustration and response to it isn't based on a desire to win, it's based on a desire to get this sh*t done with so we can move on to something more valuable.

    Hey, ENTP here. I love INTJs. If we're going to go by the stereotypes, INTJs, along with INTPs, tend to be the only types that ENTPs see as their potential intellectual superiors.
    Now, of course, that's a huge generality and will drastically vary. I tend to be a somewhat extreme example of the function axes. I'm not really centered, i tend to be on one pole or the other. So I do see at least *some* truth to this generality.
    Again, I'm fully aware that I'm nowhere near as smart as I think i am. I just have to remind myself of that... often...

    I have a hard time connecting with people. Therefore MBTI works as a roadmap too.

    One of my favorite things about ENTPs is that they allow for the dark humor side of things to be experienced without me feeling like I'm the only jackass in the room for thinking such a joke. Your mileage may vary based on life experience, but I've always been the person who could see a situation that went bad, see how it could have gone infinitely worse, and turned that into a joke because I genuinely found the hyperbole and level of absurdity for how much would have to go wrong for that result to happen to be hilarious, and my ENTP friend (probably one of my closest personal friends at this point in my life) will be right there seeing it as well, but somehow he can get away with saying it, where I know people would think I'm being a jerk.
    I remember when we both used to do phone support calls and I would hear him say some of the most outlandish things to try and help a person understand an issue, and he would just breeze through that conversation like it was nothing while I'm sitting there like, "I could never say that to a customer... I'd be fired the next day if not sooner 😆." And in true INTJ x ENTP fashion, when we've had debates about a subject, I know I can always absolutely tell when I've already proven my point and now he's just fishing to try and make a comeback. Mostly cause he'll take the most incorrect aspect about his argument and try to double/triple/quadruple down in the hopes of just getting me upset. It only worked once, and that was almost 20 years ago when we first met. Funny enough it took 10 for him to admit that even during that time he knew I was right, and realized it pretty quickly (because we were arguing about a video game and we were both SUPER video game nerds with nothing better going on at that time ) and admitted his move at that moment was, "Just double down, and keep doing it until you doubted yourself and folded." But that instance led to what's been an almost 20yr long friendship now.

    • @justcallmejon22
      @justcallmejon22  Год назад +7

      Unstoppable force meeting an immovable object! I've instinctively learned that when the ENTP starts doubling down that I just go with absurdity. If they're going to say stuff they really care about, I'm going to say stuff that doesn't make sense to see how they'll with it. It usually ends with us laughing at the end 😂

    As ENTPs, we need an audience, we see ourselves through the mirror reflected by the reactions. We bow down before the god named Reaction. So it's always fun to be around someone who's a good audience. That's how connection grows

    • @justcallmejon22
      @justcallmejon22  5 месяцев назад +1

      That's so interesting. Is it not enjoyable if there's no reaction? Does that de-incentivizes you not to do something if a person isn't there to react?

    • @darkrebel123
      @darkrebel123 5 месяцев назад

      @@justcallmejon22 Yes for a lot of things, a big part of the incentive is anticipation of a reaction/response. There's a lot of energy in that. A good example for me is that I have a lot of tattoos, and they are all in highly visible areas like my arms, because what's the point in having tattoos that nobody can see? I probably would never have got tattoos if it weren't about cultivating a specific image of how I want to be perceived by others.
      Regarding the question about if it's not enjoyable if there's no reaction? I'd say that a lack of reaction or response response leaves a degree of ambiguity that is very uncomfortable to me. I think it ties into the Fe function being in third place and a bit underdeveloped, so I struggle to understand where I stand with people and how I fit in the absense of feedback. So for me it's not so much about taking enjoyment in reactions per se, more about reactions/responses clearing up ambiguity for a function that I have a lot of uncertainty and insecurity around. I feel safer and more confident when I know explicitly whete I fit in with a person or group of people.
      There def is an element of it that is for enjoyment, but it's a form of play on a surface level, but serves a deeper purpose than just the play.

    i can't say my experiences with ENTP's is great. my ex best friend is an ENTP. I've been struggling to understand/ place if I'm an INTJ or an ENTJ. so not really sure on the compatibility🤔 He's an unhealthy ENTP so he's very aggressive. I have a strong growth-oriented mindset and feel as if we're to different now. characteristics that make me believe he's unhealthy are: constantly ignoring rules, being harsh insensitive and cruel, argues for the sake of arguing, having a superiority complex & whenever he gets any kind of advice/ constructive criticism on his action behavior or words playing victim believing the world is out to get him. you can see why my options of this type may not be favorable. I wish I knew more ENTP's so I'd have the idea of what a healthy one is like. so, I'll take your word for it when say these things about the ENTP personality. i also curious as to when ENTP's think about the INTJ/ENTJ personalities. 🤔

      @@justcallmejon22 that's true, and we gotta love that convenience. then again, I'm trying to go outside more to meet and understand new peeps (hoping i'd come across an ENTP somehow.) also, if the INTJ x ENTP pair works like a charm in almost any type of relationship, then it would be fine to want them as a romantic partner in life? especially if both are matured. personally, I prefer being with someone who understands my wants and viewpoints in life, and I can offer the same thing to someone who thinks of the same. i'd like us to be partners-in-crime, achieving our separate and combined goals, being comfortable with each other's true character, living life the way we want that breaks the tradition, stereotypes, and bs standards society has made about romantic relationships.

    1.21 No, baby! We don't like INTJ beause we want an audience. We want INTJ because they see us better than other people tend to and if they can get past their strange belief that what we are doing is all about our own ego, and realize that we are just what we are and we happen to be very loving and very loyal and love intelligence and honesty, that makes them very good partners. Especially because we can inspire and support each other to get stuff done. Getting stuff done is important. People randomly falling in "love" with us gets in the way of that. If an INTJ loves you, it means something more real. As long as they are not mistyped, anyway.

    Same reason we love ENTJs. We, ENTPs, really really value loyalty. I know that sounds like utter bullshit. We are cynical, we take nothing seriously, rules are guidelines....ect. No, I crave loyalty. I crave a group that always has my back. And being so confrontational makes our pool that much smaller. And with deep apathy, people are the last real frontier. And real talk, ENTJs are SUPER loyal...and INTJs....just gotta scale your castle walls.
    And yes, I have no Fi...just Fe with lots of Ne duct tape. It mimics Fi. But it's not. And I really don't give a fuck. So long as it fools everyone else. Because I barely give a fuck what you think. So there. I present some Fe that looks like Fi if you don't squint.

    I've been trying to figure out which type I am for a while now, always balancing between ENTP and INTJ. At somw point of time I started thinking I am an ENTP but then I've watched a great deal if your videos (they are great btw, big thanks for what youre doing) and the doubts returned. I can say I can relate pretty often but not all the time. But what you said about reasons why ENTP's sad... It's been always PEOPLE to me. I guess I finally have my answer. • @edi9892
    @edi9892 5 месяцев назад

    I guess that I'm not the only one thinking/feeling that way: a part of the rivalry and obsession is based on envy.
    An INTJ can plan the entire week ahead, but his frustration is immense when his boss comes along and gives him a priority task that throws all plans out of the window and requires emergency rescheduling in order to minimize damages... Rolling with the punches is not really our strength and that's something we'd love to have and envy from ENTP and ESTP... Acting like them can be a lot of fun and therapeutic at times, but in the end, it's an act and unlike the real persona it will cause fatigue.
    Of course, in the case of ENTP, there are two other factors: We'd love to have their people skills and as you mentioned, engaging in deep conversations is important to us.
    BTW: I had a colleague at work and I can't really tell if she was an ENTP, but I'm very sure that she was a rare female psychopath. She was fun to hang out with and talk to and I can barely put into words how I felt observing her. It was both amazing and creepy seeing that she displayed a personality that was tailor-made for the person she was interacting with (and seeing her change was very creepy). She was amazing at cold-reading, lying, and manipulating. It was like meeting Michelangelo and being able to watch him work. We did have a it of this ENTP-INTJ dynamic and I half-jokingly admired her psychopathic traits. She obviously knew that I knew and she didn't care... Normal people would be offended, or try to deny it. Perhaps you'd expect her to threaten me. Nothing of that sort. She was confident in the fact that people would believe her lies more than my truths...

"Why won't you ... (sleep with me, marry me, have my baby, etc?)" Because, you've done nothing to distinguish yourself from all the other people that ask the same thing and there is not enough of me to give that much to so many. Context:
      I don't really care whether people like me, I just don't want to be misunderstood every time I talk. I've noticed that people around me tend to quickly judge and jump to conclusions without further thinking or respect. When I try to clarify, they either cut me off or continue with their lives, seemingly with their ears tightly closed.
      I feel like there's a side of me desperate for friends and to develop meaningful connections (since that's my everyday view, but most of them are not meaningful). But, on the other side, something inside me is pulling me away from trying to make friends or genuinely doing so, it wants me to focus on self development and goals. And a loop has started.
      At some point in life, I experienced many Se grips and developed an ESXP personality for survival, despite having social anxiety.
      But when I manage to get out of Se grip again, and resist using the EXSP persona just to fit in and function, I'm able to be in my correct mind and use NiTe at the fullest. I have a 17 year old ENTP son. He was already 9 when I met his mother. Our relationship rocked before the marriage - when I wasn't seen as a parental authority. Now a combination of teenage and ENTP rebellion are directly at odds with ... well the world. There's no discussion on anything. Just nonstop Ne blasting Ti facts about how stupid everything is. He is personification of the stereotypical teen thinking they know everything because they consumed a theory in class, online or from a book. Basically, he hasn't had the life experience to build an adequate database of Si. (We all overcompensate with our savior/hero functions.)
    There's nothing as fun as having my Fi/Se directly attacked because things I experienced in life are WRONG due to his secondhand consumption of some knowledge that was different. It's like having my very existence challenged. Dude, don't attack my lesser functions. They aren't as mature, and they will fight or flight you.

      I experience very similar things with younger INTPs, as well. They think they know everything, yet haven't left their room longer than 10 minutes on a daily basis and thats just so they can quickly grab food before running back onto their computer and browsing wikipedia and chat forums.
      With more life experience, both types quell their ego a bit, once they realize that life is nothing like what they've read online. They need a little "worldview shattering" to really come into their own. I'd say ENTPs are much more passionate and headstrong, though. Which, I actually quite admire and enjoy, since I am very similar. Just less outwardly dramatic (child Fe vs child Fi dynamic).
      My advice? Give it some time and allow your son the space to fall on his face a few times. We all need a little struggle to mature and learn and grow.

    I would much rather be with INTJ than INFJ. Reason being is INFJ is too secretive. And dark. Every time I talk to an INFJ for a while they always end up door slamming me. I hate that. It is super disrespectful. I had an INFJ walk away briskly from a conversation and avoid me from there on. An INTJ would never do that. If there are other ENTPs out there tell me if yall can relate. INTJs are awesome. I love you all

      It sucks to hear about your negative experiences with INFJs but I assure you that it's a personal thing and not an INFJ thing because I know INTJs that will do the same things that you described your INFJs doing. I hope the best and that you find someone out there that you relate to that will allow you to be the true version of yourself ✊

      I would actually advice to never trust an infj. They have got some agenda brewing inside. Something that might not even be obvious to them. Fe puts on appearances and you can’t fool us of the dark depths while using a mutual Fe function. Intj ni connection is trustworthy and loyal while infj is shifty

    2min into the video I can tell I like watching you haha... I'm a 38y old ENTP, but Enneagram 8, so instead of just saying it, I would actually enjoy winning challenges and THEREBY trolling the annoyingly ambitious ENTJ. 😜 You do realize you talk a lot and fast yourself, though, right? The knife analogy OMG 🤣🤣🤣 Agree with the need for validation and with the Fi fallacy (I care a lot about people who I shouldn't care about), but usually I'm the one consolidating the information shared by other intellectual types, asking questions until I feel satisfied and distilling to the essence of "does it make sense what you're throwing at me (Ti) and what else is there tangentially to inquire about (Ne)?" I thought it was a Te - Ti relationship. I'm a little thrown by your observation. Can you tell me what I'm missing?

      If you're anything like my ENTP friends, I'm sure we'd get along easily! I'm not really sure what you're asking but I want to know so that I can answer properly! Please rephrase the question as if I'm a 5 year old 🙂

      @@justcallmejon22 basically, my Ti feeds on Te, Te provides me facts and popular opinions, tells me whose expert information makes sense to review and then Ti grinds it through my internal logical framework and spits out if it makes sense or doesn't. That's a game I love playing Te users. 😉 However, it sort of contradicts your observation. How's that?

    I dont want to be my INTJ partners entertainment. I want to be important enough for a small amout of fe validation of my feelings. When i said "i wish you were here"
    It wasnt to pull him from his hyper focus.
    It just would have been comforting to hear "i know, i havent forgot about ya." Im focused, but i hear ya."
    He can send me a music video about grinding his focus, but cant acknowledge me for 30 seconds. 🤬

      I hear you ENTP, and I've heard it throughout my dating life. Trust me when I say that the INTJ wouldn't be with you if they didn't see you as an equal. I'm not sure if you know this about INTJs but him sending you a music video is his way of expressing emotions and showing that he cares. INTJs feel very abstract, so we'll send a video that can better describe our emotions than we ever can. In regards to your emotional needs, might sound weird to you because you don't have Te but tell your INTJ that you want at least (x) comments/compliments per week and you'll get it. We don't throw out compliments like fortune cookies so you'll know that the INTJs mean every one of them. Good luck ENTP and please take care of my fellow INTJ ✊
