Literally the entire dlc is reminiscent of Ds3, so many references it’s insane
this!
at step 2 "quest step 1" you can also drop from the dragon communion alter if you follow the wing all the way to the end at the lowest point
then travel down the hill, that leads you right into the finger ruins from behind avoiding majority of enemies and shortening the trip considerably
(to get to the dragon communion you go through dragon pit)
after your done if you go back and climb the dragon's head and go around you reach the hidden grove which if you follow to the end drops down onto a shrine that is a stone throws away from the cerulean coast shrine
the river is a much safer route
This dlc could be a game by itself

For anyone struggling with the mother of fingers fight I used radahns great bow and spammed the ash of war from far away make sure you keep a lot of distance and spam once u get to second phase use a summon maybe mimic so you both can spam that way was pretty easy for me

If you find her twin you can have the two souls of the twins as a summon. It's still not the mimic tho lol 😂

You can only use the eye one time so you tecnically can but you would have to get them both on ng+
@@tex5511 you have to give Jolan the Iris of Grace and get her spirit ashes. After that, you have to find Anna’s puppet and then interact with her and usher her into the the spirit ash. dont need NG+ for that. Now if you want both the sword of night and the ashes then yes NG+

just a heads up, you can get two irises of occultation, one is found by killing an ulcerated tree spirit after draining water in the church district allowing both weapons to be claimed in one run, and in the next area after there's another iris of grace if you really wish to have both summons in one run.
Bruh this is exactly what I was wondering thank you. I used the occultation in the prayer room without realizing I would need it for this I was so pissed lol

Fantastic timing I was unable to access the other quests, but this one was still functional.
No need to travel this far to find iris. You can find iris of grace in the same area with the site of grace where you used gesture for statue of Marika. It is in the room up the stairs from grace. And iris of ocultation drops from one of the tree spirits in church district. The one near big crabs.

For anyone planning to use this: Sword of Night only scales with Dex, even at +10. Yet, the AOW relies on Magic Damage. Typically, pumping stats into Dex would increase your R1, R2 Damage. Meanwhile, you would throw stats into INT, in order to boost the magic Ash of War (this is why people split Dex and Int for Moonveil). BUT . . . since this only scales with Dex, the AOW of Sword of Night is ALWAYS weak no matter what. I think the devs made a mistake and we will probably see a patch that adds INT scaling to it later.
when i see that weapon, i knew it will be suck. i will not do that freaking long questline just to get that cool looking AOW and useless in pve tho

I entered the boss fight for Ymir and jolan and killed jolan after examining the chair then died to Ymir but now he won’t spawn back when I try again anyone know what happened?

@@Menno63785 It doesn't give me an option. You normally need to interact once to spawn the first NPC and then after you kill it the second spawns. We have a problem spawning the second one

Note her Spirit Summon is much better when you combine it with her sister, I can't remember where you find it but when you do they combine and summon as a duo and are pretty good.

Does leveling up arcane increase its passive blood loss? Or is that only for weapons infused with bleed at the swordsmith?
Increasing arcane will help with weapons that scale with it, blood weapons and ashes or wars especially, higher the arcane the better and more effective the blood loss and scaling
@@Camelman000 so if a weapon has the passive trait of bleed but has B scaling in Dex for example but none in Arcane, then arcane will have no effect on the bleed?
@karnage7665 yes, as far as i know, if there's no scaling then it won't be as effective as pooling your runes into dex. however it's still a good choice to do a dex/arc build since arcane is popular among blood affinity weapons

Its important to note theres actually two things you can use the iris for. They can also be used on fire knight queenlign

It wouldn’t let me blow the horn to start the boss so I just killed myself and it spawned me back at the top and the dude is back sitting on the chair again and won’t get up is it glitched

If yall cant beat ymir use the placidussax dragon king sword, its a pretty tough boss and its located on the main game area crumbling farum azula, please watch a tutorial on how to reach the boss since its a secret and very cool boss and his sword will make this fight a cakewalk, for those who have it just use the sword's aow and charge it fully to chase him around the room and he will not be able to cast any spell
If you go to the top of the tower and activate Anna's Puppet, you get her as a part of the summon as well, which makes it much better.

I got the iris of occultation automatically after I did the lever thing for the water in the shadow keep, don’t know if they changed it or if it’s a bug lol but got it

The one thing with taking the summon, instead of the sword, is that you can also get her sister as a summon and then it turns into a duo summon. So that's pretty swag.
For anyone struggling with the jump at 5:56 use Malenia’s boss weapon AoW. You can also use it for the second job too.

I’m stuck on this finger boss on ng+ 4 with level 9 scadur tree with 65 vigor & this shit is Literally breaking my sanity!!!! I’ve got no idea what to do with the beam circle of doom but hopefully dodge through it or just so happen to be in a spot where the beam misses.
Have to be far away if you are a lot of her attacks can’t reach you except that direct beam one

The 2nd ruins was an infuriating experience, although. I learned sticking closer to the far left helped you avoid most of the spam. It also helped if you have access to eternal darkness.

A tip for the mother of fingers, she is EXTREMELY weak to bleed
Pain, I didn't understand tf fextralite was saying in their wiki. They kinda left out a lot of details, I gave up the wrong one and got the summon(I spent so many hours today trying to figure out where to go everywhere and tutorials etc) Learning so many new lessons, as much as I love blind playthroughs I hate more than anything when I miss a cool item :(

after killing the invader in the weird place under the throne, was not able to interact with the bell at the end for some reason, loaded back in the cathedral and now the npc's are back sat on the chair and at the pillar and going through their dialogue and reloading in no longer makes them disappear so unable to go back down beneath the throne, anyone have a solution for this?

15:10 lmao got a bug where I got Iris of Occultation without going to the fort, for Iris of Occultation bug, after you pull the lever in the Shadow Peak go down the lever then instead of heading back to your path go to other direction instead do some little bit of platforming and then you should see another grace and stake of marika, rest in the new grace and then teleport back to the Shadow Peak entrance Grace and then instantly got the Iris of Occultation and got 40k runes.

You can get both of the things you need to either get the sword or summon when you drain the water in the the keep. You have to fight a tree avatar at the bottom and some other enemies. If you sold one of your items to either get the sword or summon you still have a way to get it

so i killed the invader and fingerboss and after returning the npc is gone? i talked to him before not sure what he said anymore any idea where he could be gone?
This katana is amazing hots like a truck but be careful with the ash of war you cant spam it since it has like charge up time so in pvp bait people, and in pve wait for the boss to do its combo and then do it, fully charge is a gamble unless you have crazy high poise, even still.

For anyone scared about the magic Ymir is selling don't worry when you kill him he will drop his bell bearing and you can give it to the twins in the round table and you will then be able to buy the magic there.
You don’t understand how upset I am when that random guy in the storehouse was asking for an eye and I gave him the eye before doing all this and then I wanted to get the sword and I did everything and got to the end just to not have the eye. So now I need to do another play through of the dlc to get the sword

Not at all apperantly there is a tree sentinel at the first site of grace in the castle on part 2 on the floor after you lowered the water tho I instantly got it after teleporting to the site

There is more than one of the iris of occulation, so just look up where it is.
Use wing of astel nebula on mother of fingers - absolutely melted it. Use deaths poker ghost flame on Ymir and he didn’t even get out of his chair.
Im so mad, i didnt know what the iris’ were for and i gave the iris of occultation to the other guy and got messmer’s spear. I would have 100% taken the katana instead, it is so sick
