Thank you so much for these incredible open-source projects. Your documentation alone is at the professional level, and the projects themselves are beyond words. The fact that you do all this work, on both the projects and documentation, and give it away for free is something especially grateful that I am truly grateful for. I am in the process of watching all your videos, and when I work up the courage, I will try to make one for myself as a gift to my mother. Thank you again :) this one is especially gorgeous!
Beautiful and I like the information provided, I have one using motor and 3d printed gearbox motorized one. I wanted to build without motor. Thanks to you I understand the workings Appreicated
At 4:04 in the video, you mentioned "This is rear wing assay.". What you meant was the rear wing assy. for assembly. Assay (verb), means to determine the quality content of a metal, or ore! Example (the man who assayed gold was more than a technician)! Outstanding project by the way. Magnificent!!!
Thanks for the great work on designing this! Can you explain the weight optimization, can't find anything on thingiverse (as mentioned in the video). Kind regards.
Hi! In the thingivese link, i uploaded few of photos. and 2 of photos indicate the position of copper rod weights. So, when you make my kinetic sculpture, you can refer to it. Simply, the purpose of weight optimization is increase total weight of front and rear wings. and also optimize center of gravity of two wing to properly operate kinetic sculpture. In my experience, the exact principle can only be understood by making it yourself. :) Thank you your interest on my work. Warm regard :)
Lovely work, Dr. Moon. I have created your Aurora version but am so frustrated. The two pawls do not transfer direction as they should. I.e., the rotating wings do not change from their initial direction of spinning. I understand that the pawls need to interact so as to cause a change in direction but that is not happening. , The pawls do work as planned when I rotate the wings by hand. However, when under speed, the back pawl never releases pressure from the control gear. It does not “hand off” to the front pawl. (I hope this makes sense?) Can you help me please?
Thanks for your interest on my work. :) The situation I can guess from your comments is probably related to weight optimization. The trigger is activated as the pawl of the front and rear wings crosses around 6 o'clock when the weight is optimized using copper weights. Please check the 'reference for installation.zip' file uploaded together on Thingiverse. Thanks :)
¡Hola!...

Can you make a divice with two spring load when one is of loading the the other is loading them it repeats the prosses at the end of one cicyle some kind of mechenal switch changes position
hello good day sir....please can u make a laser cut file out of it....I don't have a 3d printer....a d is it possible to count the rotation with arduino
Hi~ If a part is printed using flexible filament, the part has properties like rubber. The reason why i used flexible filament is to reduce noise which is caused by contact between onewayGear and onewayPawl. As I commented in video, it is not essential to use a flexible filament. thanks :)
Hi I have a request for you. Please help me, thank you I want you to write the material used in the 3D printer in front of each piece. - controlGear (1 ea) - springGuide (1 ea) - mainBlock (1 ea) - frontWing (15 ea) - frontWing_center (1 ea) - frontWing_block (1 ea) - rearWing (15 ea) - rearWing_center (1 ea) - rear_subRing (1 ea) - pawl (2 ea) - oneway_pawl (1 ea) - onewayGear (1 ea) - wallMount (1 ea) - wallMount_back (1 ea) - cover (1 ea) - gap_5 mm (1 ea) - gap_20 mm (1 ea)

If you look closely, it is beautiful.
If you keep looking, your eyesight will deteriorate.

Is it possible to change the size of the branches but keep the middle the same?
В детстве были такие игрушки называется калейдоскоп. Очень напоминает. Завораживает!!! Прикольно!!!!
Is there a place to easily buy all the parts? What size printer does it require?
Hi~
Unfortunately, there is no place to sell it.
At least 250 by 250 mm bed size is necessary.
Thank you for your interest on my work :)

Excellent

What a wonderful work. Is it possible to get dxf or svg files?
Hi. Thanks for your interest on my work:)
Only stl files are available from thingiverse website.
Thanks again~
Thanks for your answers. One more question, could you tell me your 3d printer and how long was the printing time?
Thanks a lot
@@stefans5286 My printer is CREALITY cr10s pro v2.
Printing time is… there are a lot of parts. so, hmm… 1 week is enough?
hi! just to confirm, when i print this, how big is the size ?

Well done! I bought the plans for making the Zinnia from David C. Roy 4 years ago. How much time it keeps running on full wind.
Hi. Its running time is about 1 hour. Thanks:)
It's really amazing, good job, could you make it with simple materials?
Hi!
What simple materials means?
I believe most of the parts are 3d printed. The hardware parts needed are listed in the video description.
The simple materials means no 3d printer, just some wood pieces....in any way thanks for your efforts, you are the best.

What is the weight of each copper rod?
Can weights with other materials be used instead of copper weights?
Hi@
Other materials can be used.
And the weight of each copper rod is 10g.
Thanks!
What is the length of the spring?
The length is 1000 mm

hi dr moon, what is the model of your 3d printer ?
Hi~
my printer is ‘Creality 3D CR-10S Pro V2’
Thanks:)
@@housdrmoon Thanks you
Can you make it more simple with cardboard or plastic more simpler way
As long as it can be manufactured according to the drawing, it does not matter whether it is a 3D printing or a cardboard cutting.
Thanks~
