@@gemsky273 The size of copper rod for weight is 12 mm in diameter and 10 mm in length. There are no copper tube. Maybe you meant stainless steel tube. I used two SS tube. The size of SS tubes are 8 mm (outer dia), 4.2 mm (inner dia), 145 mm and 50 mm for length. Thanks:)
You can find constant force spring in tape measures. The longer the tape, the longer (sometimes larger) the spring. For extreme models (I haven't experimented on those yet) you can find big ones in vacuum cleaners (used to wind up the power cable). As for taping the holes on 3D prints, I find that an easy alternative is to model the holes slightly smaller on the CAD (2,8mm works well on my printer for M3 screws). CNC kitchen has a great video about the different solutions you can use to fasten 3D printed parts. Thanks a lot for your video, it's both really instructive and mesmerizing :)
This already available in a person home in India (Kerala), I saw the vlog about him, working on kinetic energy etc. Entire home he decorated with different designs
Fantastic project. I made one but, in my case, in the "rear_subRing" piece, I had to position the magnet against the screw but on the other side, closer to the rear_pawl.
This is awesome! I know David Roy, who's original sculptures are in wood, works hard on the sound also. I wonder how the clicking sound from the 3D printed parts could be mitigated or re-worked. Nice job, it looks beautiful.
Whats the Best bearings, I have found some are just not that good even under low winds, and others have better bearings freely on very low winds, it seems a very good bearing is the trickj and and all greatly appreciated and manufacture of them , Tnks
A wonderful project and thank you for sharing the files. Some of the components are quite big... can you tell me the make and model of the 3D printer you used?
Thank you for your interest on my work:) My 3d printer is cr10s pro v2 from creality Co. Up to now and in the future, the size of the parts will be made within a maximum of 280 mm. Thank you^^
This is so awesome! I also made David's "duality" and "solo" but with a slightly different and a weight driven mechanism, though your design looks more efficient. Great job on the video too :)

This is beautiful. Thank you for sharing the DIY information. What is the diameter of this piece? Any advice on scaling it down in size to approximately 12 inches in diameter?
Thank you for watching my video:) This kinetic art is approximately 24 inches in diameter. When downsizing, you need to pay attention to the weight. If the weight is too light due to downsizing, the rotation speed will be too high, and the beauty of the kinetic art may be deteriorated. Therefore, you need to secure a lot of space to attach the weight (copper rods in my case). I wish you a successful making. ps. You can find all my drawing files from the Thingiverse web site. The link is in the description section of this video.

Cool but not entirely safe 🙂 Little hatchets spinning around. Perhaps rounded blades would both look more elegant and be safer?

Cool, I like your concepts rotation. Can I ask , if spring have long length. It can rotate long terms?
Absolutely yes. The running time is propotional to the spring length. So, i always want to find longer spring:). Thanks!

instead of a Force Spring have you thougth to use a dc motor?
That's good idea! If the kinetic sculpture can be rotated irregularly by DC motor, it also good method. :)
