I watch this guy on autoplay while I'm at work welding. God Bless this man for the time he puts into this video. I'm not even gonna donate my tithing to my church anymore. I'm sending it to this guy.
Hello gents - big time fan of the channel and long time outdoorsman. The whole 'visibility' conversation confuses me when it comes to the outdoors to be honest. I've read and watched numerous articles and videos that say that black is THE most visible color in the outdoors, yet I see large numbers of contributors telling me to fish bright colors - chartreuse, orange, red etc. Can you help clear this up please? You've got great underwater video capability and I'd love to see a 'color shootout' in various types of visibility - clear, stained, muddy etc. Throw a black jig down in each and see what it looks like. Do the same for white, yellow, chartreuse, root beer, green pumpkin etc. and see what happens. THAT would be a super helpful video! Thanks for considering!
The ice is gone! The fishin' is on. Tactical Bassin' is here To get my @## in gear To catch some monster fish Another great Vid to put on my saved list. Thanks guys!
Thanks Tim! Love that you guys have been reviewing and favorably recommending the 13 fishing cranks lately (Scamp, Jabber Jaw, Magic Man in particular). I have some that Im anxious to try this season. They come in great colors, VMC black nickle hooks and appear to have decent build quality for a reasonable price! Cheers.
Man I can’t thank you all enough for all the entertainment and info that I could ever need and you also are helping me for when I get older so I can fish in the bassmaster collage series and move on to the bassmaster elites and hopefully win the bassmaster classic
Thanks for this video. As you know, the Tennessee River gets muddy as spring rolls around. Would it be possible for you to do a video on how you and Matt pack your tackle on each other's boat when fishing together? Do you bring your own tackle, or just share what's in your boat?
You guys are awesome, thank you so much for making these. This is a shot in the dark but, what do you recommend for windy days? I'm in TN (like you) and you know what kind of storms we get. I would like to hear what you say about windy days and days right after a storm as far as bait choice. Thank you so much for taking the time to make these, they're extremely helpful. Be safe out there. Kane Fishing Gear
Tim another awesome video! The amount of information and detail is perfect thanks for putting in the time you guys have shared and always do share an amazing amount of knowledge 👊🏻💪🏻
I got a few firecraw jackhammers mid last year and have been keeping them aside. The time is coming!! Also little jons in the river!!!! Getting excited!
my best days of late winter fishing have came on days where a 50 degree day and rain suddenly thaws all of the lakes and ponds, making the temp raise from freezing to about 40. they lose their mind on jigs and lipless cranks/blade baits up in northern areas. thanks for the refreshers for us still stuck with ice, hopefully those warm rains will come soon.
Thanks Tim. I wasn't aware of the shallow runner 13 Fishing Scamp Squarebill running that shallow. I ordered four or five this morning after watching you. I've always been a fan of the Spro Fat John 50, but it doesn't rattle like you say that Scamp does. I do have the R version of the Little John. Apprecaite what you guys do for us.
Great job as always Tim! That’s a ton of info. Really appreciate you guys and how well you cover the chosen subject. A video idea: Maybe at some point you guys could do a vid on when the creek running into the lake is clearer than the lakes normal low visibility I had this happen to me last year in NorCal and I had no idea how the bass would react to it. Thanks again and keep em coming! 👍🏼👍🏼
Here in Oklahoma, muddy is 1 inch of visibility! Lol! Anything over a couple feet seams pretty clear to me. We do have a handful of lakes with 10 or more feet but they're few and far between. I end up using these muddy water colors quite a bit. Great video!
I often fish Lake Michigan, so I'm on the other end of the muddy/clear spectrum. If I don't see the bottom in 10 feet of water I'm reaching for my muddy water colors.
Have you been able to get your hands on the Nishine Simcoe 75? It’s sold out everywhere immediately and I wanted to know you and Matt’s opinion on it. Thanks for all the videos, really been able to get on more fish since I started watching
Great video! I have a question about the megabass Levante emtf I rember Matt saying he used it for football jigs, would I need to use braid to liter or straight floro? It says that it’s great for treble hook baits but I’m not sure what to use when throwing single hook bottom contacts baits like the jig
No single Colorado blade recommendation for spinnerbaits in muddy water??? 🤔🤔🤔 In addition to the extra thump, the single Colorado blade helps slow a spinnerbait so bass can track it better in muddy water. That single Colorado blade spinnerbait was the Chatterbait BEFORE the Chatterbait.
They don't want to slow the spinnerbait, they have said in other videos that yes a single colorado blade is an option but they usually still use double willow
@@theoriginaltech019 Agreed, I recall those videos. Matt determined the willowleaf blades create a similar sonic profile in the water to actual shad. It just seemed this would be the video they would retouch on the attributes of a single Colorado blade and/or bright colored kicker blades during the "red bait" phase of the prespawn.
@@midwestfischerman oh for sure, I would think it's just cause there is always so much to try to fit in and sometimes it doesn't all make it. As midwest fisherman I feel we may fish a lot slower than them. Lol
So, if the water is normally clear (aka visibility is about 10-12 feet Dale Hollow Lake) and the spring or March rains come in (rains about 2 days prior to a trip and still is raining while fishing. Would you use other baits to make noise versus ghost Shad colors or even a Flatside/Frittside? Would you be finesse fishing or would you power fish during this time? Thanks!!
Have you ever tried a bellows gill as a chatterbait trailer. It's looks kinda like a spunk shad but wider. I'm not sure what kind of action it would have. Keep up the great work
From what I’ve seen on another channel the bellows gill would be a bit to big to be a good trailer. Maybe a Zman big blade could handle it but I suspect you’d have to fish a muskie sized chatterbait to fit that trailer.
I have the Shimano BFS reel and have been waiting on the Zodias rod from Tackle Warehouse since August and they again have moved it out to mid March. I realize it’s not them, it’s availability from Shimano. I have been looking at the Shimano Curado Casting Rod $170 in the 7’2” medium lite, extra fast instead and am wondering if this would be a good rod and action instead?
I was wondering if i could get some help choosing the weight of my line. I watched a couple of your older videos about fishing line and i am going to get braided line and fluoro leader line but i dont know what weight to choose. Im on a budget and only want to buy one of each. Im going to be targeting bass, walleye, muskie, and pike. I use most common types of lures, jigs, spinnerbaits, cranks, jerks, top-water etc. I live in Canada so the bass dont get as big. Most of the water i fish is very clear. I was thinking i should get 40lb braid to be pretty safe without going overboard but maybe i really do need 80lb for bass fishing in thick cover? Then i really have no idea what weight for fluorocarbon leader. i just guessed 20-30lbs. Also i am aware i will need stronger leader line for muskie and pike.
Have they updated the scamp at all? I noticed it has a really soft bill on it. I bought one last year and the bill was completely trashed after one trip. The body of the bait seemed to have good durability but the bill was just too soft I think.
This isn't relevant to the video, but rewatching the guide to rod selection you guys did a while back made me think. How many rods do you guys own, and how do you store them? Do you guys just have a room full of rods? 😂

This is a great video. Lots of people mistake "murky" for "muddy."

Absolutely great video and perfect timing with the rain coming into East Tennessee just in time for the weekend!
Thanks for this video. As you know, the Tennessee River gets muddy as spring rolls around. Would it be possible for you to do a video on how you and Matt pack your tackle on each other's boat when fishing together? Do you bring your own tackle, or just share what's in your boat?
Tennessee river guy here.. it’s like a river of muck after big early spring rains. But, I’ve still found some luck in creeks.

orange is absolutely killer in the spring! My go-to.

Its almost time to do some bass fishing here in ohio!!!! I cant wait

Another good one. Now for a stupid question, do you have a favorite way to judge water clarity when bank fishing?
I love the LVs & TNs but I have been really impressed by that Magic Man.
Thank you Tim and Matt, super helpful if I ever run into muddy water 👊🤙
Videos always informative👊🏻🤜🏻
Cold muddy water is great in the summer, black buzz baits right in the current works amazing!
Solid info as always. Thanks for the vid
Awesome video as always
Great video as usual. It's almost time here in Indiana to get out I can't wait.
Awesome video, I that mist tips can be transferred to ponds but any spring pond tips/baits?

I'll second you on that, regularly fishing Dirtybird.
Favorite jig rod for 1/2 oz pitching/footballs
What are your thoughts on using an oversized crank bait this time of year. Something like the megabass big M 2.0. Great information as always. Thanks
Have you been able to get your hands on the Nishine Simcoe 75? It’s sold out everywhere immediately and I wanted to know you and Matt’s opinion on it. Thanks for all the videos, really been able to get on more fish since I started watching
For me when I need lipless cranks that are light and loud I go to the Cotton Cordell Super Spot, and they are CHEAP!
Spinner bait question. When do you use trailer vs stinger hook

What's your go to swimjig set up (rod/reel) for both the California swim jig and and say the regular dirty jig swimjig.

Time to design your own lipless now
Down here in Louisiana I’m lucky to get 8-6 inches of vis!! 😩

Does Shimano Flashboost baits work well in Muddy water?

I challenge you to visit oak hill park in Danville California and catch a bunch of fish
Does it make a difference if you fish a lake that is about 6in visibility year round. And will these fish ever go deep
Fishing Mohave next month, water viz will prob be 50ft + lol

What about the darkest colors like black, purple, blue? Wouldn’t that work just as well?
First!!!
I live in Mississippi and every lake and pond around me only has an inch to 3 inches of visibility what should I do
This isn't relevant to the video, but rewatching the guide to rod selection you guys did a while back made me think. How many rods do you guys own, and how do you store them? Do you guys just have a room full of rods? 😂
hi
First!
I guess we will call it a tie!😁👍🏻
Muddy and cold water is tough...
I noticed your trailer on your spinnerbait was not upside down I thought you guys always put them upside down
Praise Jesus
Morning. Ready to hit the water? 🎣
Anytime there is high, muddy water u can bet I have a Rat wakebait in my yak!
The random long hair is so distracting 😂
I think that’s fishing line!
Okay nvm part of the shirt lol
