Right rear sound is the most important.
Most people are happy with a sound bar and sub. So centre then sub or stereo setup with 12inch drivers and you don't need either.
It as usal depends ..
If you are at the right between the speakers then you got the phantom center and the subwoofer is more important.
So instead of 5.0 you have 4.1😅
And if you have more than one position then try crossing the streams for the main fronts setup trick..
As it is about movie the .1 is more important than the center channel and for dialog you can still tweek for that with the maince.
Anyway I dont really care about HT.😂
And I actually use 4.1 in my system.. So I have experience of that setup.😅
This is the best answer. I’ve been running a 6.2 living room system without a dedicated center for years. 90% of the time, only one person is watching/listening, and the phantom center is more than adequate at the main listening position. Under these conditions, I get much more benefit from the subs than I would with a dedicated center. If multiple people were regularly watching, then I’d probably opt for a dedicated center over the subs.
Depends on what you use for left and right
Subwoofers are more important for home theaters. The best setup for fronts for me is using a phantom center. I've had a few of the typical mtm centers laying horizantally from klipsch, pioneer etc and have always found myself having to adjust center channel levels to hear dialog. Now I have left and right channel cocentric speakers from Elipson, which are known for really good midrange, and dialog sounds much clearer than any setup I've had with a center channel. Plus I don't think there are very many LCR's that can properly do infrasonic bass like good subwoofers can do.
For gaming, the sub is the most important. I don't really watch a whole lot of TV, but gaming? Bring on that sub!
Ninety percent of movies/TV is dialog and 90% of the dialog comes out of the center speaker. The center speaker is the most important speaker in your setup. Get the highest quality center you can afford and build your speakers from the inside out.
Center channel unless you only watch Michael Bay movies. But next I think the left and right mains. You can have no subwoofer and still enjoy just a front three. If you have bug tower mains you can have great bass.
Mains are always first, thats a given unless you have a monster center that can be wired for stereo. Sub is next. Whats a bug tower? Few towers have deep loud bass.
@@patrickmiller4987 I have no idea. Autocorrect is ducking futz.
None are the "most important" , as soon as you prioritise speakers then you are doomed to a Frankenstein speaker systems 😬 funny irony is most will say the centre speaker then proceed to make it the weakest/smallest in the front soundstage 😜😅😔
@@Echo-jg8is No sir. The front stage is absolutely the most important. Take away the front stage and go listen with just surrounds.
@@patrickmiller4987 using your logic, electricity is the most important thing in speakers 🤣
Subwoofer is the most important. You can always compromise with a Phantom Center, but you can't have a Phantom Sub.
You can compromise with a phantom center if your speakers are good enough to output good dialogue intelligently. But if you don't have good speakers that can do that, then center is more important than a sub. What good is a sub with fantastic bass if you cant hear any clear dialogue.
Plus phantom center is mainly for mlp
What if we talk about cheap center channel vs cheap subwoofer
in non english countries, the center is not the most important because we have subtitle
