Nice of you to reference “Living with a Classic”. I enjoy both of your channels and I don’t own a Jag. My dad has a nice late XJS V12 convertible so I’m interested and now that my TR6 doesn’t really need anything you guys are scratching my itch! Looking forward to seeing more…!
Hi was very happy to find your video's I recently got Jaguar xjs a 1983 very much in love with this car it will need lots work but really don't care sure it be every penny cut and bruise . Thanks for the help .
I'm very happy to see that you're putting out videos on the XJS again. Many thanks for that! I inherited an XJS from my father that has been waiting for restoration in a garage in the middle of the desert in North Africa for over 35 years. Everyone has advised me to abandon the project so far, but fortunately I never did. I will soon bring this car back to Europe to get it back on the road and your videos will help me a lot. Thanks for pointing me to the channel: Living with a classic, I didn't know it yet. Very useful! Keep up the amazing work!
When you go to Living with a Classic next time, let him know in a comment I referenced him in my video. Good luck with your project. It will be a great education and confidence builder. What year is the XJS
Useful. I'm just putting my 96 xj12 subframe back, all new poly bushings from powerflexusa, lemforder balljoints etc. My recommendation to anyone reading this is to -photograph everything close up before taking apart so you have a record of washers, shims etc. There is a shim plate on the subframe v joints that seems to be added for camber depending on lhd or rhd. Easy to miss these things, also the upper A arm shims which tend to fall out when you loosen the horizontal bolt. Count them and where they are.
I started reassembling my subframe before this video came out and missed some great ideas in this video. Love the rods to help with installing the spring. I had a heck of a time lining up the bolt holes once I got everything compressed. I did not however install the steering rack before the springs! Am waiting on a new lower control arm rod before final assembly and reinstall. Not in a rush as I am looking at the subframe out and thinking, why not just drop the engine and swap out the auto with the Getrag 265 sitting next to the car? Might be easier than pulling up and out since it is a tranny swap. I will have to wait for the spacer plate and a few other things I am ordering from UK to complete the swap. Are you doing a rear IRS rebuild at some point? That seems like it is going to be a bit more complicated. I picked up a new set of solid, I think brass replacement bushings for the IFS dirt cheap to replace the needle bearings. I also am going to need to swap my gears from 2.88 to 3.54. Love the videos, keep em coming. Thanks.
I have no clue. I've been told that a couple of times and I'll probably get around to figuring that out sometime this season when I get a chance between projects. It may have something to do with my iphone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have begun a series on the IRS unit hub carriers. I'll start with them and work my way in.
Hello, love your channel. Voice is kinda mono often !
olla: love your channel. Your voice is kinda mono often
Hi. Why almost all you're videos are in mono sound and most of them in right channel only?
I have no clue. I've been told that a couple of times and I'll probably get around to figuring that out sometime this season when I get a chance between projects. It may have something to do with my iphone. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
If you are racing why are you using rubber bushings?
It's for a street car.
