Glad the S-Type sold for a decent price and has a new owner to enjoy it, and the black XJ is off to a new life. This XJS is looking like a real gem of a find !
A good update, the xjs is looking good,is it flamenco red,me dad had a 94 xj40 in flamenco, looked great.look forward to more uploads off you this year.happy new year to you by the way.
My XJS equally afflicted. Please let me know where you source your replacement. I have seen you can flip the nylon gear to gain life. I have not ) it is been a few years) able to find one . Bad design to have nylon and metal interface. If I am going to take all that apart again I want it to actually work. Chappy to have sat through the video. It's on my list... Lovely pleasure crafts XJS are.
@@tjmthejagmandownunder I think you lose the bumpers, and you have to grind the lip interior lip down that is on the other side until it is flush. I have had others create 3D prind models, but have not pulled the trigger yet. Flipping it puts meat back on the grooves, if the guides and rails and all are greased up, it should last awhile.
I have similar problems with my windows, neither of them works now after swoping the switches over. But it will have to wait until the spring now before I tackle this particular issue.
G’day Brett. Had to laugh. Exactly the same problem with mine. The nylon gear teeth have stripped. That cover pops off easily to take a look. Just tap the edges back with a screwdriver. Good luck finding another. The 8 tooth motors are hard to find and or expensive. Pelican Parts have them for MBenz. $147 US plus shipping. Hope to catch up soon.
G’day. I have just purchased a 1987 xjs 3.6 coupe just like yours. It’s the first Jag I have owned. Could you recommend somewhere to get parts? Mainly hoses and belts. I also need front carpeting in black. I am in Victoria.
Glad you kept the brown V12. This XJS seems an absolute beaut bargain, apart from these annoying fiddley bits, but they're no real problem for the JMDU, are they? I say that as someone who is hopeless about most practical things, let alone the complexity of Jag mechanics, so feel free to quietly - or even loudly - swear at me. I can't hear you anyway, lol. Love the vid as usual. PS was surprised to see you do the seat clean and leather feed with your bare hands! Well why not if it works just as well?
Don't tell me that new project is a seriously mangled XJ220!! Great to the S Type and 300Sport have new owners! Its always always a risk purchasing used window motors sellers say are good to go. They usually are not!! Classic exercise in false economy. Same thing with ABS Modules! Could be a killer next time

Woo-hoo 100 videos to look forward to! Excellent start to the year TJM!
Happy New Year Brett. What is the leather conditioning product that you rub into your leather seats?

It would be good if you could show how you swap doorcards over and replace the water shields in the door please
Hi Robert
That's the plan but have wait for the new carpet first

The lanolin in the conditioner keeps your hands soft😌
The nice 3.6 litre engine with the 3 speed BW box?EW:what were they thinking?
Hi Sam
All AJ6 engines have a zf 4 speed gearbox. The BW's finished in the xk engine.
Thanks for watching
@@tjmthejagmandownunder So that shifter from the previous model is connected to the four speed? No "J" Gate?
Exactly!

Did you get your music from Estonia as well?
Thats not very funny! You have to use RUclips music anything else is copyright. Its not that bad is it?
At least on older Fords, you can take the window motors apart and repair them.
Tasty xjs
I reckon your music is fine. You probably feel the need to play Mick Jagger ha ha .....
I can but do not get monetised for it!😩
