Excellent work! I have been struggling with mine and thinking about doing it for the past 7 years!! Even got the 16mm threaded rod and nuts for the job. Still, taking that big spring out doesn't look easy at all. What is the white grease your are outting on the bolts for the pan? Lithium or something else?
Oh and it's a shame you didn't fabricate a distance piece for the two opposing bearings on the stub axle.. the original design is weak and makes no sense.
I truly thank you for your having taken the time to show this assembly. It is certain to come into play for me as I am restoring a 89 XJS. It runs now, but I enjoy improving efficiencies. What I think I should to is remove the assembly from my parts car and rebuilt it for my driver...
🤩 Wow 😳 the camera work is fantastic. It was a pleasure to see you using genuine Jaguar parts and your attention to detail on this build was impeccable. I am just waiting on a few more parts before I start my front & rear rebuild. Great Job 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you very much for this excellent video! I think you pointed me to an error in the suspention of my XJ6 (1981) that i just bought recently. It has suspention that pulls the car to one side. After seeing this video i think the 2 legs of the upper control wishbone on my car are possibly switched around...! It has to be the case because all the bushings are brand new and the brakes are good. Again, thank you sir.👍
Thank you - just finished rebuilding my 1993 4.0 manual XJS Front Subframe & watched your video several times before starting which was great preparation. I have also finished rebuilding the rear subframe & both now ready to go back in . Great work thanks again
Great work. I was going to take my IFS into the shop to be put together. But I found and followed your video, and now it is finished. Now I am waiting on your IRS rebuild ... Thank you very much.
Awesome work! I'm about done with mine finally. I've been watching this video and checking my work in my head. The spring removal is actually the easy part I thought. Putting back is going to be the hard part. Really well done on making this video. Thanks!
It is a grease like product . From Permatex Copper Anti-Seize it protects metal parts from seizing , galling and rust. Very good product. I myself always use it on any jobs like yours. In the future just 200ft torque to get shock out not the hot wrench to cut it out . Well worth it .
Nicely produced very helpful video, thanks. However - please check all your Nyloc nuts as I see a number which do not have enough bolt threads showing - good practice is 2 threads min.
Can anyone tell me what the white lube is eg at 19:12 to 19:18? And what it's for? Thanks. And it's a really helpful video, great for checking everything as you go along.
grate work mate..i have a problem with my front upper control arms and can you help me to find the correct orientation..as you mentioned in the video my arms are not the same and they all sitting same height.. keep us the good work..thanks again
Mate do you know how to pack Bearings wiping grease on the outside is Not good enough you need to pack them and you should have put anti seize under the bearing on the spindle . sorry if I sound negative
When i disassembled axle, they were not there. So i ordered 4 units, but i did not install them (once i check camber angle, i will install them if necessary)
@@PedrosGarage The next big step , i will make Rear Axle Assembly. The rear axle was removed from car and new parts arrived. But now i don't have time to continue. I hope for this summer i will make it.

Очень хорошо все объясняете! Что за белая смазка Вами используется?
You need longer bolts on the top ball joint. Need to have at least 3 threads showing.

Excellent tutorial. Thancks!!!!
Buenas,es el mismo proceso con el Daimler 4.0,1989, por favor decime o mándame el procedimiento, gracias
Muy buen video, felicidades
Can you list all the parts used during the rebuild? Excellent video!!!

6:50 camber shims are missing?

Eurolat any update?

Eurolat nice! But I meant how was the camber without the shims. I took mine off.
@@PedrosGarage I have not done the wheel alignment angles yet.

Yes you have to support it using the hooks on the top of the engine and an engine support bar
