I was taught this move recently at a Jiu Jitsu seminar. It was hard to resist, I'm impressed.
Probably the clearest video I've seen on this so far!
I have difficult with shiho nage because i'm normally taller than the uke. See you doing this technique help me a lot because i imagined that i'd have to down below the uke's arm. I've never saw a video that demontrate shiho nage with the nage taller than uke. Thanks for this video sensei!
Awesome! I actually really understand what you mean. Being as tall as I am, I realized that Aikido for tall people is actually more difficult than vice versa. But trust me, as you go along there are many tricks you can apply to make it easier. Speaking of this, I think it would be awesome to make a whole video on how to do Aikido for tall people. Thanks for the idea! ;)
But problems are connected with small people as well. I am teaching kids and for example tenchi nage or iriminage are hard techniques for them because they as well as tall people have to work with uke more then people who have same height. Therefore (in my opinion) is really good for everyone to try one technique with different height people even if it is not comfortable (shihonage with really small people) because after that you are learning how to work with uke to understand his movements to reach unity with him and to finalize by redirecting of the uke's attack to harmonic technique.
Very true. I agree that based on the height differences one has to adjust and learn some principles/tricks to do it properly. I also agree that changing partners is most essential to experience and learn in all ways

excellent video sensei, and I agree with others in that I really love the way that you explain the technique always breaking it down into discrete step by step snap shots. I will continue to use your videos to correct my techniques.
Awesome! That's great to hear. Thank you
I hate being uke for this technique. I know you don't follow Aikido anymore but DANG. This is such a difficult technique to take ukemi for.
I love how you broke this down. It's one technique I've been trying to learn
Thanks. I find it's always easier for people to learn a technique when it's explained step by step with reasons behind the movement. I'm glad it helped
Right. Do you think maybe you could do one like that for the ikkyo or tsuki kote gaeshi techniques? You really explain these things well.
softwhere07 I will add your requests to my list of planned videos. Also, I am actually planning to release Tsuki Kotegaeshi quite soon. I will write you here as soon as it's out!
nice!
Hi again softwhere07, I've finally released an Ikkyo video. Sorry for taking so long. I hope you like it! Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/dHo1JX_ar_o/видео.html

Thanks! It's a good request, I will definitely do it. Right now I am actually doing my best to make my program as accessible and effective so it's actually quite exciting. I would be glad to share it. I will let you know when it's out!
PS: I wanted to check if your user name is pronounced Sando with and "O" at the end not "U", as in Japanese? Will be great to know when I will release the video and mention it :)
In my language (Bulgarian) is O, but in english is U, so you decide.
Sandooo :D Well, I was curious to know how you pronounce it? I would go for your language though :)
Sound fine to me :)
Could you please make a video showing the use of shiho nage against two aggressors? Thank you.
Wait, what do you mean?
You mean doing it on someone while someone else is grabbing you, doing it on someone and then on someone else or what?
Dear Sensei , could you please show us the randori techniques. at the point of contact to throw. when the uke reaches nage and nage grabs with both hands and turn and throw. Thank you.
Hi,
I will add your request to the list and let you know when the video is out! Let's stay in touch
Please watch Stanley Pranins video blog for shiho nage !
There is an atemi and a arm lock at the beginning! Your technique is easy to counter!
Seems to me you don´t need (or want) any martial elements in your aikido - ??? very beautyful.....like dancing!
+funnybunnystecher This is an easy introduction to beginners, here it's not taught as a basic technique :)
could you please do irimi techniques?
Will do. It's on the list of to film videos. I will let you know when it's out. Let's stay in touch
