    Hey everyone! I'm happy to announce our newest video in this series, this time looking at how to learn Nikyo in an easy way: bit.ly/1SWa6NA

    Thank you very much for the video! I have been practising Aikido for 5 years and all the while I thought that this is just part and parcel of Tenkan. I now understand the philosophical part of it.

    Some more thuoghts.. The Tai no Henko helps to understand and use the principle of Universe that says there is nothingness, so there is no enemy. There is only consciousness. When we know that we deny feeding the opposing forces but we blend with something that thinks is our enemy but we dissolve it. The main problem in street fight is tension. If someone freezes and becomes stiff then all the advantages are lost and nothing can do. I think in fighting what is important is the ability to act and do it the right way. Whatever helps this wins. Focusing on enemy creates fear and hatred and this leads to stiffness and lack of agility, flexibility is lost. Your teacing is excellent.

    +AikidoSiauliai I just discovered you this week and I have to say thank you for making this video and all your other videos. You have helped me discover the more spiritual and philosophical side of aikido and inspired me to educate myself on the subject. Keep up the good work. I'm a huge fan already of your work already.

      +Trevor Milosch Thanks for sharing! Hearing that the videos influenced someone in a positive way, is one of the biggest rewards I can get from them. I hope you'll enjoy the other coming videos too. I'm going to release a new technical video today, about doing Nikyo in a simple way. Unfortunately it won't involve as much philsoophy/spirituality in this one, but others will.
      Thanks for sharing again

    I love your dedication BUT! ….
    from 1:38 to 1:41 is a disaster!
    Keep your flat feet on the floor to ground your vertical body weight.
    Your front heel comes way up!
    You twirl on you front foot.
    Your back heel comes way up. (check broken).
    Your shoulder comes way up!
    At the end your weight is on your back leg/foot.
    You need to drop your weight onto you front leg “with your armpits closed feeling”
    This drops your vertical weight onto the contact point where you pin Uke.
    When Uke is stable and you are moving Uke will take control every time.
    Question - why do we tenkan? (answer this question)
    When Uke has entered as much as possible and his centre is still not available, still behind your centre, behind Tori’s, we tenkan to bring uke through and to get behind his centre.
    In your case Uke did not move, you did.
    The leverage to make Uke move comes from the back foot moving last and pushing through the foot, you did the opposite. Your weight went onto your front foot and you twirled, or something, with No leverage. Keep your HEEL on the tatami al the time!!
    ruclips.net/video/ta15bv3Vojc/видео.html.
    Your intentions are great you information is not good at all.
    You have the wrong info.
    Leverage is in torifune. In this case tenkan.
    The Boken is the great teacher.

    Tai no Henko is actually extremely effective for avoiding someone who's rushing at you :D

    • @MartialArtsJourney
      @MartialArtsJourney  8 лет назад

      +jcgm90 :D Well, there is no end to creativity. And I also tend to say that you can use the technical principles in endless situations, as long as you catch them in training :)

      +prasad ruparel Thanks. Actually during that shooting day we filmed 5 different videos, three of them being: Tai no Henko, Nikkyo and Koshi Nage, so at least two more of these will come out in the next few weeks!
      Sincerely,

    You should be speaing Japanese. The way you pronounced the technique name is good for someone who spent maybe half a year in Japan leanring Japanese and Aikido but most people probably did not have that luck. I would try to pronounce Japanese slower and your English is according to me normal. I mean I like your English.

    When you turn you need to be hip to hip and in close ready for the next technique not miles away. Please look at Sensei's from all Aikido groups. Hope no offence is taken. If you are going to teach...........................well!

      +AHONDA ANS You mean "Aikido"?

    • @ahondaans1092
      @ahondaans1092 8 лет назад

      Yes, who drew this calligraphy?

    • @MartialArtsJourney
      @MartialArtsJourney  8 лет назад

      +AHONDA ANS Imagine that a very important person to you makes a caligraphy for you for the spirit of it, not because of profesional skills. Would you hide it?

    • @ahondaans1092
      @ahondaans1092 8 лет назад

      Calligraphy is like budo. It shows how you are. When a person knows budo or calligraphy, he sees your level. Please do not mind if you are satisfied with your level

    • @MartialArtsJourney
      @MartialArtsJourney  8 лет назад

      +AHONDA ANS This caligraphy isn't made by me :) It was a gift from a special person. That is why I cherrish it. It is a symbol, not an example
