Instead of selling my soul, I had a dream that me and a vertically-challenged demon just talked for awhile about making important life decisions based on rough probability. He said that no outcome is ever 100% guaranteed, but never making important decisions, never taking risks, will always leave you with the regret of not knowing. You’re alive, but you’re not living. Sometimes, as long as the probability of success is relatively high, you still need to take that leap of faith. Paganini actually seems to have been a pretty good guy, and at the very least he was a great father. During his concert tours, he always brought his son Achille with him, and I read when Achille became extremely ill, Niccolo spent weeks at his bedside uninterrupted while he recovered, possibly at the expense of his career (I forget where I found that information though). Also, he was pretty supportive of other composers, like Hector Berlioz and Gioachino Rossini. And if you listen to Paganini's own compositions, a lot of his music is quite sweet and pure in character. Far from demonic, I would say.

Here in Argentina we have a version of the Faust story. It is a comic poem and the basic idea is that a gaucho tells another about when he goes to Buenos Aires and sees the opera Faust by Charles Gounod (based on Goethe's work) in the old Colón theater. The author is Estanislao del Campo, who attended the premiere of the opera and was convinced by the poet Ricardo Gutiérrez to write the poem.
The initial villains of a show called Kamen Rider Build are called Faust, and their founder, Takumi Kutsuragi, is literally nicknamed the devils scientist, due to the lengths he’d go for science, with him stating he would sell his soul to the devil if it meant science could progress
Actually there’s videos (Christian videos) that says all souls belong to God according to a verse in the Bible so maybe selling your soul isn’t nearly the most damning thing you can do 🤔…
The most interesting thing to me has always been the level of esteem that the Father of Lies has for contract law. So that if you can somehow extract yourself from the contract on a technicality we are to believe that there is no additional contest; the contract is immediately broken, the devil just shrugs it off and moves on.
When I was in elementary school I found a book on demons and how to traditionally summon a demon to become a witch, create a contract etc. My initial thought was, this shouldn't be in a school library I would think? But it was a very interesting book.

You’re soul is invaluable, if what we humans feel and think is correct then selling our souls would be akin to eternal slavery or death. If the soul is what’s desired then think about how essential it is.
Modern examples of soul selling allegations would be Lady Gaga , Beyonce , Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. Usually the popular female pop artist of early 2010's. I wonder why the 'Illuminati' phase of pop culture died down. I enjoyed it so much , it was too iconic.
I can't remember the story, but one time at my Christian high school in literature class we read something about a guy making a deal with a demon. I remember the demon was like "hey so I give you want you want, and you go to hell for all eternity. No I'm serious. You go to HELL. It's not gonna be fun. Are you certain you wanna do this?" and the guy is like yeah sure. Years go by, the demon shows up like "hey I did my end you do yours buddy" and overall the story seemed less "don't trust demons" and more "don't make promises you aren't willing to keep". But I mean yeah maybe don't make contracts with devils. Unless it'd be funny.
There is a colorful character in Swedish folk lore called Näcken or The Naked. He lives in a small rivers and is said to look like a naked man playing a violin, flute or sometimes a mouth harp. In most stories he uses his music to lure children into the river to drown them, but in others he tempts musicians by promising to teach them his songs. He will teach you 7 songs, the first 6 supernatural in beauty, but the seventh must never be played. Naturally the seventh is always played and when the musician has begun he cannot stop. Likewise the dancers cannot either, the whole party dancing till their flesh and bones are ground to dust and nothing but skulls bounce around the doomed musician. The only way to save the dancers us to kill the player, he is the source and his soul will forever be held by Näcken.
This video is soooo amazing! For one, as a video purely made for entertainment, it does that task very well and made me watch till the end. On the other hand, if ever one does encounter this situation, this video is actually a great guide for that.
Great video! But one more thing I was hoping you'd mention in your discussion of the origins of this idea: The belief that humanity as a whole was indebted to the devil from when Adam and Eve left paradise on, right up to when Christ offered himself up as a ransom at the cross was a key part of Christian theology from the very beginning. Devin Singh's 'Divine Currency - The Theological Power of Money in the West' does a good job of clarifying how that came about in detail
Don’t let this comedic video fool you, demons are real, and you can’t sell your soul but you can sell yourself so much so that you don’t care to stay on the wrong path. “Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine: the soul who sins shall die.” Ezekiel 18:4
If Doom is anything to go by, then indeed, Hell seems to have some pretty good music. Appreicate the work put into all the art you find for these videos.
The tritone wasn't banned that's a pop culture myth, it's just that it makes for very unstable chords that make composition much harder and people didn't really like it.
In Indonesia, you can make a pact with spiritual entity for wealth or curse on your enemy. Bingo ! I thought I was the only one who think like this. People get scared of ghosts and I'm like ,well that's proof that human being have souls and when we die our souls separate from our bodies. By that logic if humans souls are a real (ghosts) that means God is real also. As they is no practical reason why souls exist except to help "transport" people to heaven or hell when they die. And heaven & hell are places created by God. Thus God exist, not in theory but actual reality. But this is an uncomfortable truth for some people to acknowledge ☹️ P.s I had an experience when I was a child. This experience was with something that was dark and evil. That experience changed the way I see religion. Because if what I experienced as a child really happened then without a shadow of doubt God exist. Because demons if God doesn't exist, the say way hot water can't exist without cold water existing.
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 I think there are 3 "places" that exist where souls go to. Heaven, hell & earth. The souls on earth are the ones we call "ghosts". Those are the souls that refuse to move on from Earth for different reasons. Reasons such as; - they don't believe they are dead - they don't want to leave their loved ones. Hence why family members are the ones who most likely to experience hauntings - they don't want be dead. They know they are dead but they feel that their death was too early. So they spend their time on earth haunting people to mess with them. Because they are upset that they died too soon. These are were all the scary haunting stories we hear about in paranormal reality tv and movies like the Conjuring. Here is the plot twist.... In addition to earth, heaven and hell they are other alternative universes that exist. With other "beings" who are not human. These "beings sometimes visit our earth (e.g UFOs) and some "beings" choose to stay ( e.g bigfoot). And some "beings" were on earth before we were created by God (e.g dinosaurs).

If you like music theory heavy experimental work, maybe you've heard of Jacob Collier. If you haven't then I'm excited for you.

What about Black Metal?
this vid came back to life!
Even if things don’t work out the way you hoped, you at least took control of your own life.
Wholesome demon! I imagine you both sitting on a pier, swinging your legs off the edge of the dock.
I like how he's not short just vertically challenged lol
Fuck, that's a cool dream. Would make for a great writing prompt. And honestly that demon sounds pretty legit.
So soul eater? The little demon from soul eater is what u saw
Vertically-challenged is crazy☠️
Please do not sell your soul. You were born innocent and your task is to win back your heart.
great video, except for the tritone was never banned in church music! it was just hard for choirs to sing and is fairly dissonant. Adam Neely has a great video about this musical myth
came here to leave that comment... now I'm purposeless, so here, have my like and and hopefully be read by Hochelaga lol.
Must start reading comments in chronological order lol
I tried selling my soul to the Devil. He laughed at me and told me I'm a nobody and my Soul is worthless to him. :(
He just did this to me! On here! At least, he SAID he was Lucifer...
.... also, given the context - is your name a cruel irony RN? Sorry, man 😕
Cringe
Cringe
If only that was the case then we wouldnt have to worry
💀
I'm sorry but him calmly saying "paperwork" after an aggressive "servitude to the dark lord" was so out of pocket I spit my drink out😂😂
Paperwork?! C’mon that’s the least of my concerns, I’ve done more paperwork buying a car at a dealership not too long ago (30 pages of signing and initializing) 😂
The story is an allegory for taking shortcuts to getting what you want, i.e. committing crimes instead of work hard etc.
You mean "cons and more cons" 😆
Or pros and pros
Pros and meh
@@Hydrosized nope. Especially at these times where everything is coming to an end and materialism will no longer exist it’s the dumbest thing to do. U can be rich and famous without selling your soul instead just believing and loving Jesus and god.
And I’m not trying to tell u what to do I’m explaining because I used to think like u. But just think, a religion/a demon who says there is no right and wrong and that u can do whatever you want rather it is r4ping, killing or whatever I think I don’t have to tell u how wrong that is. God always said if u believe and trust him you will get everything that you wanted and even more. I don’t have a religion I have god and Jesus. All these religions in my eyes are fake and manipulated.
Yep😂😂

Paganini actually seems to have been a pretty good guy, and at the very least he was a great father. During his concert tours, he always brought his son Achille with him, and I read when Achille became extremely ill, Niccolo spent weeks at his bedside uninterrupted while he recovered, possibly at the expense of his career (I forget where I found that information though). Also, he was pretty supportive of other composers, like Hector Berlioz and Gioachino Rossini. And if you listen to Paganini's own compositions, a lot of his music is quite sweet and pure in character. Far from demonic, I would say.
and yet people still rave on about Byron, as if he was some kind of romantic hero. You know. He sounded naughty, but he was basically an amazing dude? Just misunderstood.
He wasn't. Any of that.
JUSTICE FOR PAGANINI
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 What was Byron's deal? I don't know much about him, although I hear he was a celebrity in the art world in the early 19th century.
virtuosism breeds a lot of jealosy
@@j.2512 I love that in Snooker, nobody ever seems to begrudge Ronnie O'Sullivan his undeniable virtuoso status and they can't help but like him, as well. He was criticised as lot in his younger years, for "disrespecting the game" when he started playing left-handed as well as right handed, but that's 30 years ago, and by now ...I've often thought how strange a place it must feel, to be the absolute best in your field, in the whole world.
@@BazukinBelyugovich Lord Byron was a poet and writer, but he was famous for his scandals and for being overall a bit of a jerk. Like visiting a place and getting offended because he wasn't treated as well as he thought it was due to his status, or not caring for his child who died of sickness.
Oh we have gauchos in Brazil too
I think selling your soul is just a metaphor for ultimate dedication
Love the sense of humor here. Informative and funny. Thanks again Hochelaga!
The initial villains of a show called Kamen Rider Build are called Faust, and their founder, Takumi Kutsuragi, is literally nicknamed the devils scientist, due to the lengths he’d go for science, with him stating he would sell his soul to the devil if it meant science could progress
Never heard of him but I noticed you have my favourite rider as your pfp, nice
be the one!
This video really couldn't have come at a better time. I will be able to negotiate a better contract now. Thank you.
I was thinking of selling my soul, but the contract was too much reading and I zoned out, so I got bored and never did
Thinking Same Let's Meet When We Joined The Organization
hochelaga must've done so for his narration skills. Every video is always lit 🔥
I dont understand why anyone would ever give up their soul for anything.
Suffering forever really isn't worth whatever you're getting for it.
Exactly
Agree
Actually there’s videos (Christian videos) that says all souls belong to God according to a verse in the Bible so maybe selling your soul isn’t nearly the most damning thing you can do 🤔…
Tell Bill Gates that 😆
The warning right at the start was genius, I love the dark irony and humor in it. And the way he says it is perfect haha
The most interesting thing to me has always been the level of esteem that the Father of Lies has for contract law. So that if you can somehow extract yourself from the contract on a technicality we are to believe that there is no additional contest; the contract is immediately broken, the devil just shrugs it off and moves on.
Could you please let some Earthly lawyers know about this? He makes some of them look like what they are...
exactly.
The father of respect 😤👌
That is if you can
Or you can just call Saul
Hochelaga, your podcast, The Interruption, was awesome! Very well done. Keep up the good work
When I was in elementary school I found a book on demons and how to traditionally summon a demon to become a witch, create a contract etc. My initial thought was, this shouldn't be in a school library I would think? But it was a very interesting book.
Do you remember the name of the book?
name of the book?

It seems like a lot of people really want that $$$$$$$$ and fame. Believe me it in the long run you lose!
@@zackjohnson6456 Certainly true after all. The soul isn't just a thing in your pocket its you. Nothing material in any amount can equal that value. It is always a bad deal.
The Interuption is amazing!
Hochelaga is out here teaching us things we should have been taught in school. Like how to file taxes, open up a checking account, or sell your soul to the devil, you know, real-world applications for everyday life.
Thank you, I was planning on signing on to "Definitely not Satan" Records for an album deal, but now I think i'll have my manager take a 2nd look.
Managers are, historically, likely to work for the Devil anyway.
Maybe get a few REALLY trustworthy friends who understand finance and contract law to look over it instead...
Hochelaga: becomes a freemason
Hochelaga few months later: this
This is by far one of my favourite pieces of comedy I’ve seen in a while, amazing work man! 😂😂
Another great video H (informative -funny - creepy ) leaving a comment as requested 😉
You’re soul is invaluable, if what we humans feel and think is correct then selling our souls would be akin to eternal slavery or death. If the soul is what’s desired then think about how essential it is.
I love how much of a mystery comes with "I know which one *I* prefer..." 🤔
Modern examples of soul selling allegations would be Lady Gaga , Beyonce , Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. Usually the popular female pop artist of early 2010's. I wonder why the 'Illuminati' phase of pop culture died down. I enjoyed it so much , it was too iconic.
"A life in servitude to the dark lord" Sounds a lot like marriage
Musicians didn't sigh a pact with Satan, the answer is simple: Haters gonna hate, no matter the time period
Man I just LOVE your videos. I learn so many different things.
I always wondered how your channel got so big so fast! Now I know! 😃
There's at least one Irish folk story dealing with this subject.
Basically, he gets outsmarted and tormented so often HE backs out of the deal LOL
I love your channel immeasurably. Thank you
There is a colorful character in Swedish folk lore called Näcken or The Naked.
So the pied piper as he is known here in America
This video is soooo amazing! For one, as a video purely made for entertainment, it does that task very well and made me watch till the end. On the other hand, if ever one does encounter this situation, this video is actually a great guide for that.
Your videos are the best!! Always excited to see a new one come out
NOOOOOO DON’T PERPETUATE THE MYTH THAT THE TRITONE WAS FORBIDDEN! people just didn’t play it cuz they didn’t think it sounded good
I love your perspective on this
Great video!
Doom is a special thing compared to nothing but screams and silence.
The tritone was never actually banned in church music. They were considered "the devil in music" because they were hard to make sound good.
ty for uploading so much. i love these vids
I claim no negativ energy‼️🙏🏻🕊
Ken Russell's "The Devils" tells the story of Urbain Grandier and the Loudan possessions. Its one of my fave films of all time!
It’s art. It’s amazing.
Love your stuff, always suuuper interesting… keep it up man!
The tritone wasn't banned that's a pop culture myth, it's just that it makes for very unstable chords that make composition much harder and people didn't really like it.
In Indonesia, you can make a pact with spiritual entity for wealth or curse on your enemy. It is usually carried out with the help of shaman (called "dukun") and usually the price is sacrifices (your child or stranger) or certain items. But at the end, the spiritual entity will take your soul as slave.
Thank you for that warning! I was about to sell my soul right before i saw that
The tritone was also heavily made use of in musical notes in the depiction of hell seen in the _The Garden Of Earthly Delights_ painting.
Always the best videos ✨
Yes, "The Devils" by Ken Russell is an absolutely brilliant film. Glad you mentioned Grandier. Oliver Reed was so incredible in it
this man always has the best disclaimers
This is my favourite video of this channel!
One of my favorite music works is The Hell Verse by Shirou Sagisu in the Bleach anime. There are also a lot of references that you might enjoy in the music itself but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if it's used meaningfully, I just like the way it sounds.
Personally I’m like: What’s this? Devil approaching, with proof of an actual afterlife?!! See you in heaven 😂😂
Does the proof of possible eternal torment actually also prove the opposite, though?
Yes. I am NOT fun at parties.
But this is an uncomfortable truth for some people to acknowledge ☹️
P.s I had an experience when I was a child. This experience was with something that was dark and evil. That experience changed the way I see religion. Because if what I experienced as a child really happened then without a shadow of doubt God exist. Because demons if God doesn't exist, the say way hot water can't exist without cold water existing.
@@dontbefatuousjeffrey2494 I think there are 3 "places" that exist where souls go to. Heaven, hell & earth. The souls on earth are the ones we call "ghosts". Those are the souls that refuse to move on from Earth for different reasons. Reasons such as;
- they don't believe they are dead
- they don't want to leave their loved ones. Hence why family members are the ones who most likely to experience hauntings
- they don't want be dead.

Thanks for the tips. Was going to go to Satan's house for a dry cleaner he posted on Craigslist for $15, but I knew that was clearly too good of a deal. Now I know I made the right move and won't be hexed or whatnot. Walmart's probably going to have them on sale soon anyways. :)
I think you should make a video about magical practices in Europe, things like Grimoires or sigils. I want to know if they were a orderly, hard magic system, or a soft and disorganized one.

The tritone myth is just that. A myth. The music from that time, used in churches, is filled with that intervals use
Churches were infiltrated. Of course they have them.
As a german, the paperwork part is the best pro I could imagine.
Cons: Eternal damnation
Pros: Superpowers, flaming skull head, flaming motorcycle, flaming hell chain
Those tri tones gave me shivers.
Unrelated to the video, but I loved The Interruption. It's one of those nostalgic "unsolved mysteries" that I remember people talking about back when I was younger on older youtube. Looking forward to seeing what you do next
The tritone wasn't banned in church music, it's a common misconception
People think they can outsmart the devil, this is a story as old as time.
Bill and Ted did it.
He just outsmarted himself. Only two pure-hearted dummies like they are could do it.
also, they melvined him
The biggest trick the devil played is convincing people that he doesn’t exist
One of my friends has spent the last decade trying to sell his soul in exchange for mastery of The Blues.
No luck finding a demon, but he has gotten pretty good.
lmao
Tell him to do what Robert Johnson actually did: seek out a good bluesman and learn from him.
For real?
Thanks for the video, it's important to make well informed decisions
My first time in here just discovered the channel. Interesting n very so much aligned to it
I imagine the paperwork for breaking a deal with the devil is just a DMV in hell and you have to wait in an ungodly long line just to get told you’re missing forms that don’t exist and you have to go to the back of the line for all eternity😳
