Air 2S is definitely better! I think significant! Better dynamic range as well. Dang!
We certainly see that the Air2S image is clearer and more defined. But, it's incredible how good the image from the Mini 3 pro is. A very capable little drone.
Yeah better in wind as well. But flying in tight spaces and being very quiet are reasons I often use the Mini 3 Pro.
Mini 3 Pro camera is great but the drone itself feels cheap and fragile. I sold mine, I’ll take the Air2S all day long!
You said exactly opposite of what I saw on my screen. Is it just me?
For eg. You said in the 10 bit log footage "Mini 3 looks more natural" it clearly does not. The Air 2s clearly looks more natural and less processed. I'm sensing a bit of bias here

You can buy a refurbished AIR 2s, Fly More Combo for $949 shipped, & a refurbished Mini 3 Pro, with RC Controller for $729 shipped. Combined that's a price of $1,680, that's only $380 more, than you would pay for the AIR 2S Fly More Combo. Now that the RC Controller is compatible with the AIR 2S, it's a no brainer to buy both. That's what I did, I bought the refurbished AIR 2s Fly More Combo, & Refurbished Mini 3 Pro with RC Controller. If you bought the non refurbished, AIR 2S Fly More Combo & RC Controller, it would cost the same as both refurbished models, so it's like getting a Mini 3 Pro drone for free.
You didnt talk about one thing that I think is important. The mini 3 looks that has some lens distortion, when the air2s those building lines are really straight and vertical.

Why not use 5.4 on the air 2s? It has it so why not take advantage
The sharpening can be adjusted in the updated DJI fly app.
I gotcha, makes sense to lower the sharpening and add it in post, but even with that seems like it doesn't quite look as good as it could. Also with smaller sensors, like the ones found in consumer drones it is hard to avoid these sharpening issues.
The air 2s has more of 3D pop to its image.
The air 2S is the clear winner if it only comes down to picture and video quality. I don't mind the weight.

Great comparison! One of the first differences I noticed was the Mini 3 Pro is quicker to blow out highlights. I didn’t think about it before my first flight with the Mini 3, but the larger aperture definitely impacts the exposure.
I am a little on the fence with low light. Larger sensor vs larger aperture, and it seems like each might do better than the other, based on some condition. That’s just my impression, I haven’t went out of my way to really look. But my impression is that the Air 2s is better in low light/blue hour and the Mini 3 Pro might be better in actual nighttime conditions. Maybe I’m wrong and it’s just random.
I think the Air 2S is a tad better, but if you're really concerned about low light, get the Mavic 3.
@@brettgaramella I actually have the Mavic 3 and the Autel Lite, both are decent in low light. When I fly sporting events at night, I had been using an A7iIII on the big rig, then the A7SIII after I got that. Excellent low light but a real pain to travel with, and more difficult to to get the shots (unless I have a 2nd person). These smaller drones aren’t there but they are getting close. I think comparison videos like yours are important. Not just for people looking to buy something, but also for companies to see what’s missing and what people like. Great content, Brett

You seem really good with the Mavic Air 2. I have an issue, and Dji people are clueless. In the GoFly app, when I activate the "filmstrip" icon and go to video, I should see FOUR different strips in the menu. I can only see two. The fist two. The last two that allow for adjusting the video (frame rate, 4K, etc) do not show up. What gives? Any suggestions?
The only thing I don't like about the Mini 3 Pro's footage is the oversharpening. I think it's quite noticeable

Still can’t decide which one to buy. Gotta be so much beautiful areas to fly and film there in Austin, hill country. Being a retired cop from Temple Texas and trying to upgrade to a much better drone after trashing the cheaper toy drones. Do you have much experience with EXO Blackhawk? They seem fairly good. Thanks for video and keep them flying.

Dji or autel are your only options and autel isn't priced great or has great customer service
I thought in the final edit (watching from my phone) the mini 3 pro had a little too much of a teal look. I have them both and was about to sell my air 2s but eventually came to the conclusion that they both have their use case.
It's tough to get a really accurate look on your phone because most phones are not calibrated. This is a good calibration device though I use a different software than the one from Calibrite: geni.us/HQBpgdv
I'm having the biggest anxiety attack trying to decide between the two. I love the mini 3's colors and brightness, but not having an SDK is a deal-breaker. Air 2s is good enough, considering.
Mini 3 pro is better. I am a photo editor for a photographer who uses the Air2s. I just bought the Mini 3. It's definitely better. Air2s is only better by just a touch. In low light the Mini 3 destroys the Air2s. We haven't even talked about how noisy the Air2s is.
That's a silly thing to have an anxiety attack over....
Get the mini 3 pro- SDK will come out eventually

Thanks Thomas. I love the way the M2Pro feels when I'm flying it. The issue I had was at about 70-80 flights, the batteries getting issues, especially in hot weather. I also feel like the M2Pro is a little soft on the edges. DJI is phasing out the DJI GO 4 app in favor of the newer DJI Fly app so really depends what you are shooting and your budget. Personally, I don't think you're going to get the value for what the M2Pro is worth if you decide to sell it, so I would just keep it for now. At the moment, I mainly use my Mavic 3 Cine and my Mini 3 Pro for tight spaces. If I were to upgrade the M2Pro, I would get the Mavic 3 - either normal drone or Classic edition.
