@@BIMMERLEAGUE Thanks again and keep up the amazing content! Just a little fun fact, your muffler delete video was also the main reason why I got my muffler delete 😂
I have a challenger and dealing with CA state ref.. TY for posting this video as it was the closest thing to what I was looking for to help me confirm a solution.
Glad I found this a few weeks ago. I just bought a e90 335i today and no codes no check engine light after driving about 80 miles just the catalyst monitor not ready. It's mhd stage 1 plus I'll be buying a mhd tomorrow local and hopefully get that monitor readiness gone
I can't speak about BMWs specifically, but the issue isn't that you are tuned. The issue is that the tune you are running disabled the rear O2 sensors. Many tuners do this by default so that their customers running catless downpipes, long tube headers, cat deletes, etc. won't throw a check engine light. Personally, I think it's dumb unless you speak to your customer about it first because every state has their own emissions requirements. In any case, if you still have stock converters, you should be able to get your tuner to give you a tuned file with the rear O2 sensors enabled. That way you should be able to get all readiness monitors to set correctly on a tuned map without having to constantly reflash for emissions testing.
I just ran into the same issue today. BMW wanted to charge me $150 to drive the car around until the monitor was ready. LOL Instead, I went to work, took it back after 60 miles or so, but had the same issue. That's when I noticed BM3 has a toggle switch for Catalytics Monitors. Taking it back Monday and hopefully toggling that setting to OEM gets it to pass PA emissions. For some reason BM3 isn't letting me flash back to stock, so I hope this works.
Hope that goes well i dont take mine in till December but I currently have a downpipe with my cel on and im trying to flash it so it doesnt show up for emissions
Hope that goes well i dont take mine in till December but I currently have a downpipe with my cel on and im trying to flash it so it doesnt show up for emissions
@@waddles6020 It did not go well. After the third attempt, they said I'd have to pay again. Going to drive it for a week or so on stock tune, CEL monitor switched to on/OEM via BM3, then take it somewhere else. And I did perform the drive cycle as defined. Actually I did it twice. I have til the end of the month so maybe I'll drive a couple weeks before re-attempting it.
Great to know as common as this was myself wouldve freaked out 😂but that does make sense the part where you'll need to wait a few days for the o2s to kick back back in all makes sense
Hard to flash back when you do FBO mods. Running stage 1 is not agressive at all and it's very easy to just flash back. Stage 2 and 2+ is very different and if add an xHP transmission time it's very very agressive. Good info for those that are using stage 1
@@xOscarIGZx when you leave "full bolt ons" (FBO) for your tune then flash back to stock you might not get what you want out of the car especially if you leave the catless downpipe on. so yes. if you want to take off all your bolt ons flashing back to stock is also ok. but mhd is still in the system. you should completely remove mhd (delete)

Not only did I pass I didn't even have to pay💀. My bmw is due the end of April and it has every mod as well as worn turbos making it smoke. So we'll see if they pass this vehicle too
I had a check engine light on my stage1 and flashed back to stock and my car turned in to a steamy pile of poop. Lurched and was inoperable. I put the stage1 back on and it runs like a champ. I messaged MHD and gave them the DME error and they asked how it was running, "steamy pile of poop' and they just said, flash to stage0...anyone pass smog with a stage0?
I'm currently not sure about something with my GR supra. I have a post June 2020 DME and need to send in my ECU to femto for an unlock with BM3 new customROM. When it comes time for emissions and I install my OEM cat and flash back to stock will it still fail emissions due to the Femto unlock?
That I’m not too sure . I can only state for a fact that they are able to see the MHD tune. I have no clue what they use to scan and the level of details they see
I'm curious... I've flashed back to stock and still getting too many Not Readys. Did you do a Drive Cycle? I've heard that's necessary to force the monitors back on otherwise you have to drive 200 miles
I have a catless downpipe and stage 1 tune I failed because of the catalyst not being ready. Can I get passed this if I just drive my car real slow for a few days and go back?
What if I got catless downpipes? Does that mean I have to flash to stock, and replace the catless downpipe with the stock ones? Or can i keep them as they are?
Hey man! I also live in Colorado. Was your car tuned with a cat less down pipe? I want to buy a bmw but it has a cat less down pipe on it. Will tuning it back to stock pop up a check engine light?
Hey, i just bought a x5 F15. Failed inspection today. So i just realized that it has a catless down pipe. Im assuming it has a tuned but im not sure by who. If i buy a tune from mhd how do they get the stock map? Is the stock within the car? I cant get in contact with the seller. But it failed emission becase of readiness could not get data from catalytic
Yea, my o2 sensor wont complete readiness. Is funny because i have catless DP but there is an aftermarket catalytic converter after the down pipe 🤔 and Stock exhaust. Im assuming i have to put back a catted down pipe to then put back the stock map. If i install the stock map with catless DP then the CEL will come on wont it
Yoo I’m in Thornton as well, I have to do emissions soon. My car is catless downpipe with straight pipe. (MHD Stage 2) So what I need to do is 1. Put on OEM catalytic converter 2. Tune MHD back to Stage 1?
@@sxmmyg Yes, but you'll have to check your emissions readiness monitors with something like OBD Fusion. It may take a few driving cycles for everything to show ready but once it does you're good to go.

Robert lol muffler delete and resonator delete have nothing to do with the engine. Catless downpipe is like a straight ass pipe with no filter. Your engine will release toxic gas and stuff, that why you will gonne fail the emission.
