Russia on the other hand had entered Syria to bloster Syria’s government as well as establish warm water ports with the Med and have Airbases close to the Middle East and the Suez. This was an army of occupation and just like many others are now having to leave. The loss of its Syrian ports and airbases will have a much bigger impact of Russias global ambitions than occupying Crimea and parts of Ukraine.

Military units with Arab soldiers are not known for their high quality. They like to parade, but when there is a battle, the soldiers disappear and change from uniform to civilian clothes. Tearing down statues and token actions takes no courage.
