Its a shame that it got eventually cancelled but I can see why at the time. Atlantis and the last series where great as well. Now time for a generation of effects, actors, and hopefully stories that are as good or even better. We need someone as charismatic as Jack though and another like Teal'c.

I have been watching David Read from Dial the Gate and he says they are trying to bring back another Stargate series. David Read has been asking the actors/actresses of Stargate that he interviews if they would be willing to return to the new Stargate series and everyone seems to be onboard.

I thought that without O'Neill and Carter, there could be no new Stargate. And while it is somewhat true, Atlantis proved that they can make different kind of Stargates, new episodes, new stories, and lot of interesting concepts, so on so forth like StarTrek did. I wish they would make a good Stargate. I did not like Universe, it had no point.

I have to say SG-U didn't really blow me away. Sure it's a good series, but it bothers me a little that the characters give you the feeling that everything has already been there. Ok, the idea that you throw a multicolored pile on an old ship is very interesting, but I had hoped for more. My personal favorite is Stargate Atlantis.

I didn't care for the Wraith (another parasite race? bleh) but I have just as much nostalgia for Hewlett's McKay as I do for Shanks' Jackson. The whole cast of SG-1/Atlantis was great, to be honest. SG-U wasn't that bad, it had serious potential, but it was definitely in a different class. I think, given a few more seasons, it would have developed that class quite well. We will never know.

You know they will. Make it political. Throw in propaganda, obvious bias agenda. There is no magic in film anymore. They sucked the soul from everything.
French Stewart is also in the credits, therefore this is a new opening for the movie, not any of the TV series. I expect that if one looked more carefully than I did, on a larger screen, you would see the rest of the movie cast that did not appear on TV, as well.

This is just pure beauty! I love it! I got chills to be honest. It brings so many memories on the movies and shows that we have already seen... but at the same time I'm suddenly desperate for new stories within the StarGate universe that have never been told. Anyway, StarGate will always have a special place in my heart, no matter what.
I think the Ancients, Ori, Wraith and Replicators had great story lines, but I would have no problem if Amazon makes a new show solely about the ancient Egyptian mythology of the Go’uld. Ra was wasted as an asset, figure something out to bring him back and still be true to canon. Quantum mirror, solar flare, or basic time travel anything to bring him back and truly cover his origin story.
Baal was one of my favorite characters. He was very suave and charming. I loved the episode when Baal killed all his clones. And the one where he went to Earth.
If they make another Stargate show...please PLEASE for the fans of the show, don't let the writing be influenced by "current event hot topics". Practically every other show out there addresses such things. It's exhausting. People already live those topics. Sci-fi is an escape to another place, can we just have that?

Some new Stargate would be very very welcome. But I said that about Star Trek a few years ago too, and lived to regret it. P.S. the imagery in this opener is very nice! I like this interpretation on the music too.
The reboot? The Picard? All of the above? Can't quite get the bad taste out of your mouth? It's so sad isn't it? These companies can't help but take these intellectual properties and destroy them. And there's so many wonderful ways they can do it, too! Starting with inserting directors or writers who disregard canon to people who are more interested in force-feeding a political ideology irrespective to the content they're writing for. Cronyism has a lot to do with why people without merit get into positions of power and destroy beloved fictional universes. Terrible writing, lazy decision making, pandering and lowest common denominator style simplification, and it's all easily avoidable for the most part.
This is cool, but i wish you hadn't put the guards in at the end, just because, if this was the opening credits of the film, you would have blown one of its reveals (the guards)...
This is beautiful! The problem would be, if the new film or series were to be made like the original movie or SGU, people would say it's too dark, if the movie or series were to be made like the SG1, SG Atlantis etc, well it would be for children... all bright and rainbows and wouldn't deserve this beautiful intro visuals. However, within the mood and style of the original movie, I envision the glory SG could have again. And this intro visual would really work beautifully and well. Anyway, really fantastic work, compliments and applause for the creator(s)
They could honestly make something worthwhile by continuing Stargate Universe. Just for the love of God do something about the stupidity of the characters. It felt like every episode the military and civilians were fighting for no reason.
I really enjoy stargate... and its because its refreshing to watch. Not too serious, but can be at times. i enjoy how they poke fun at other sci fi shows like caling mitchel Kirk whenever he talks to a girl, or how MacGyver wants to call the new spaceship the enterprise lol just love it... even the alternate reality scenes with the farscape actors and the poorly done puppets lol just love it
I love it, however the original was absolutely epic, the music just sticks with you and the magnificent display of ancient Egyptian/Goa’uld was epic. They where still a mystery to us. Keep the original

The problem would be, if the new film or series were to be made like the original movie or SGU, people would say it's too dark, if the movie or series were to be made like the SG1, SG Atlantis etc, well it would be for children... all bright and rainbows and wouldn't deserve this beautiful intro visuals. However, within the mood and style of the original movie, I envision the glory SG could have again. And this intro visual would really work beautifully and well. Anyway, really fantastic work, compliments and applause for the creator(s)
They could honestly make something worthwhile by continuing Stargate Universe.
Just for the love of God do something about the stupidity of the characters. It felt like every episode the military and civilians were fighting for no reason.

I really enjoy stargate... and its because its refreshing to watch. Not too serious, but can be at times. i enjoy how they poke fun at other sci fi shows like caling mitchel Kirk whenever he talks to a girl, or how MacGyver wants to call the new spaceship the enterprise lol just love it... even the alternate reality scenes with the farscape actors and the poorly done puppets lol just love it

I love it, however the original was absolutely epic, the music just sticks with you and the magnificent display of ancient Egyptian/Goa’uld was epic. They where still a mystery to us. Keep the original
