I was 15 when I saw this, me and my sister went to the city centre in Birmingham. Absolutely loved it on first viewing, amazing movie. Still got the cinema stubs from 1994. Miss my sister, she died in 2020 from cancer. When I think of this movie, I remember those memories. Holds a special place in my heart.
Great memories of this music back when I was 14, came out of the cinema mesmerized by the soundtrack, unfortunately when youre 14 you dont have money so for the next weeks saved every single coin to buy this cd which I still have among my collection.
What’s better than finding an ancient portal that would teleport you into an ancient galaxy far from ours, meet aliens that are controlling a whole planet of ancient egypt and making theirselves “gods”, meet ancient civilization and learn their culture? This movie was a masterpiece. All actors did great, David arnold made a great egyptian-themed soundtrack. It’s rare to see such work these days. I mean, before we had the SG series, and it was good, but not as the movie. Imagine if there was an official sequel to the og movie in which the stargate opens again, and the main character comes back? Then for all of the cast to go back in time into the era of dinosaurs or the ice age?
Who in the heck gave this video a thumbs down? How in the hell does someone not like 'Stargate'? It was one of the best blockbuster movies ever...then hollywood became really hollyweird...
Consider this. "STARGATE: Open Sesame" as the first T.V. show and consisting of one, 110 Minute T.V.M., followed by 14, 55 Minute Episodes Per Annum for ten years. Decade II would consist of 4 T.V.M.'s P.A. The other Series would then follow...
Despite the fact the movie is wrongly paced and all over the place, the soundtrack greatly makes up for all of that. It's like Star Trek First Contact. You get swept away. David Arnold knocked this one so far out of the park it is still orbiting the Earth after 30 years.
That's a good take... so many people here praise the movie when in all honesty it was... weird at best. But sure, the soundtrack more than makes up for it.
@@Makrangoncias Thank you. I remember watching this movie when it came out and how the movie's tone suddenly changed half way through and recognizing that the first third of the movie is much stronger than the remaining movie. I really couldn't stand the movie. Recently I have begun to appreciate the details. The effects are actually quite good, not the best, but definitely above average. Some of the characters like Scarra were fun. I just wish someone noticed how terrible the pacing was and how one-dimensional Jack O'Neil was.
I would say: Time for a Remake !!! Kurt Russell as US President who orders a group of elite soldier into a new word after the discovery of a Stargate in Egypt during the 2011 arabic spring. Keanu Reeves as Bad guy Ra ....
I just saw this movie for the first time and loved it and I can't believe I ignored this movie for so long. It's so good

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard this must be.
I nearly cried at the grandeur of the opening theme when I saw this at the theatre.

Special place in my heart for the magic of this film and SG1!
11:11 possibly the greatest movie theme of all time
Thanks for the link. Immediately felt that it's a superb track :)
People describe modern Marvel films as epic. But what I want is to travel to a distant galaxy and battle an Egyptian god.
We need to get off this planet 1st 😅

I liked it
I just it for the first time last night and loved it. In fact, I am willing to try the series now
StarGate has one of the best soundtrack from all movies/series.
Great movie, great soundtrack, good job putting this suite together. thank you for effort and sharing this.
I do hope anyone who liked the film has watched SG-1.
Blew my speakers out of the house.
One of the best soundtrack ever ;-)
The sound of ancient wonder and magic 😊

AMAZING!
Sweeter and sweeter 😘❣️
There's an egyptian music that plays on a scene(it's like a party or something), did anyone knows name of this song? I really would like to know.
Epico

I thought the soundtrack reminded me of Independence Day
top. tem mais suites originais...
The last good film made by Roland Emmerich
The Patriot is pretty good imo.
And the first.
...Independence Day came out exactly two years later.

@@ninaguerra5723 Oh, so you have poor taste. Okay.
i can see how star wars the old republic era kinda copied this theme

nowadays valor get lost, they would include some progresist degeneracy ideas, better to let stargate as a good memory
@@icekurimu1688 Only lgbtqia+ can save humanity from transphobic false god ra !
@@SuzuTeamLiouss I still don't know to this very day if Ra in this movie was a male or a female. So progressive :D
Why in the world would we want a remake? The original is perfectly fine as it is.
Keanu Reeves would be too old by now - he's I think close to 60!!
