  • While not completely finished on this 8’ section of backdrop I think I’ve got the basics in place. It’s been a fun build and I’ve had fun sharing progress and techniques with everyone. The backdrop will show from time to time and I’ll keep adding to it in the areas left to do 😄. Now I’m thinking of starting on the first section for the HO Layout 😄

I like the tree background you painted. Are you any relation to Bob Ross? :)

That’s really impressive. I’m going to use your idea on building the background. But no way could I do the artistic work. So..I’ll just buy a background and paste it on. Happy New Year! Hope for better 2021.

That turned out perfect Bill. Even on the close-ups in the video, it was hard to tell where the transition was. I picked up some good ideas from your video. Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!

I still cant believe the depth that the background adds. It's amazing. Thank you for the tips. Where did you get your pine trees?

Bill, it looks hidden very well on camera. The addition of the two vehicles right into that background really helps add to the illusion. Excellent execution as usual. Once again that wax paper technique is a fantastic method to be able to work the scene into the layout. All the scenery on this layout looks fantastic. Scenery is one of the real bonuses to N scale.

The engineer on that last train is probably wondering what happened to cabinet mountain. Really incredible work, you are very talented. Please video the practice work on the spare foam when you test for the clouds and if you could, maybe show us how you did the background painting of the trees on a scrap piece as well. We’ll have to get you a Bob Ross wig for the tutorial. Happy new year to you, your family, and all of your subscribers.

The river section really blends in - I could not tell where the layout ended and the backscene started. Really looking good, Bill.
