Model Railroad Adventures With Bill
Добавлен 31 авг 2015
Model railroading is an adventure that we take for many reasons. Maybe it’s the thrill of watching trains run we remember from our youth or recreating scenes we’ve seen that stuck with us. Maybe it’s a longing for yesteryear or listening to the thunder of modern motive power. Regardless of the reason we take on the adventure of creating on own worlds in miniature. I’m no different so enjoy as I take you along for the adventures I have. Welcome to Model Railroad Adventures with Bill.

Moving the HO & N Scale Layouts to their (and mine 😁) New Home - MRAw/Bill EP302
I moved the layout to their new home just recently. Thank goodness I did design and build them all lite weight. That made a huge difference on getting them in and out of the U-Haul truck. Minimal damage from the move just some ballast touch ups and putting details back on and then cleaning the track and getting trains moving again. But… that will wait until I get back from Thailand again. New model railroad adventures await me in Thailand. I’m taking a lot of n scale track with me and kits and engines and cars.
I’ve always said cars don’t need to go into garages and given that why do cloths need to go in a suitcase when all that space can be used for model railroad supplies 😁😁

Oh My. What Did I Buy? - Model Railroad Adventures with Bill EP 276
Does the green of the ground cover completely cover the brown from the spray paint? I'm wondering since I can't find that color green furnace filter color at my local Home Depot
Looks great
Looks like the move went well. We will miss you back in RVA, but glad to see you’ve got a nice new space for modeling. Be well!
Interesting. Thanks. Be careful with flammables and static applicators.
Nice video and great info. I liked your furnace filter video also. All the best from the Jersey Shore. Phil
Very good tips Nice to see the trains going a sensible speed and not raving round
Glad to see things worked out for the better!!! Thanks for sharing.
Great job! How do you attach the cattle to the ground? Thanks, J B
Welcome back to Iowa!
Goooood 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I know I’m a little late to the game here, but this was very helpful. Thanks for the wisdom, Cheers!
For your scenic dividers you might consider styrene sheet, it comes in 4' x 8' sheets. Find a local plastic supplier and see what they have available. - Tony.
the “model railroad gods” were with you on this move😊…nice new space…lots of modeling in your future…
Great to see the item made it safely. I also too moved cross country. My forever home is no in the Portland OR. area. Yes, home to the SP 4449. Oh and yes. My layout moved safely too. Hope to have a home in a month after closing.
👍
Good to have you back Bill. What happened to the O, On30 layout?
In a previous episode, he moved it to a museum.
@ Crap, I must’ve missed an episode. 😢
Glad everything made to the new house. Hope your well .
Can't wait to see your future videos 👍
Looks like a tornado themed layout now. But great work.
I want to know what kind of coffee or Drugs you're on. I took down and put away a few Halloween decorations yesterday and had to take a nap. Where do you get all your energy?
Great to see how well the train layouts traveled. Looking forward to years of videos from ‘Bill in Iowa’. 👍👍. You now have lots of space to work with. Very happy for you Bill.
I just moved last month form Williamsburg va to disputanta va mainly do to taxes and cost of living
Wow thus has given me inspiration to try this the only thing i cant seem to find is the actual furnace type material here in the uk ,i thought of using a scouring material from o e side of a sponge ? 😊what do think of this idea my friend
I have been making the pine trees and now making this type tree also using your method
Very Creative it Looks Good It May Change May Not I Think Still looks Great.
🤠👋🚂🗯
I really like the segregated scenery concept, looking forward to see the progress.
🤠👋🚂🗯👍
Wonderful job gentleman. So pleasant to see a modest layout in a regular room- doors, windows, other photos on the wall, etc. 'Gives others opportunity for methods.
Where is that shop?
Cedar falls Iowa. If in the area definitely stop in and plan on being there a while
Hey Bill just recently made a trip to VTR in Ronoake hoping to see your layout but I will have to make another trip. Talked with director and he said it will be a while yet. So sad I will have to go again Lol!
Great job on the new details. Your barrels look great.
There is so much stuff to see there, it would take a day to go through the store, did you notice any CP steam engines in HO scale?
Hey, Bill. I found your channel by searching for diorama trees. Thanks so much for your content. Very appreciated.
Thanks for the tour Bill, One of these days I will visit the store in person. That layout is great , I can see you building this at the new house
Hi yah Bill I sure miss my adventures with Carol & the whole gang hope to get moving again. Quality time & in the best hobby goal this winter ..
Nice video and showcase of the hobby shop. Have you decided what you will be building in the location?
Check out my first 50 or so videos. 😂Complete from start to finish on a large portable HO scale switching layout
I just came across this video ... Subscribed!!! 👍
Welcome on board !! Lot of videos here. N, HO, O, and On30 along with videos like this one ☝🏼
@@modelrailroadadventureswit6347 SWEEET!!!
@@modelrailroadadventureswit6347 I'm HO .... But trains are trains!!!!
Amazing store. Did you re-home your HO layout? Didn’t see it in last part of video. House in Iowa with basement? Knock yourself out….
Hi Fred. I will do my best to take the HO and N scale layouts with me. I have the space at the Iowa house for them and more. The house has a partially finished basement so I have this feeling there will be one if not two layouts down there at some point 😁
I'D LOVE TO MEET OTHER O-GAUGE PEOPLE IN IOWA!!! Every model railroader I know is into HO, S, or G although I have been to Caboose STOP several times. I just bought a house in Cedar Rapids (with a train room of course), and I'm just getting settled in. I'd love to keep up to date with your progress!!!
Tell you WHS. Go to Caboose Stop hobbies on a Wednesday. Laverne and Mark will most likely be there at the club layout in the basement. Ask whoever is working in the shop and they can direct you to them. When I’m settled in to my new place in Charles City and back in Iowa from overseas every so often I think most Wednesdays I’ll be there. Keep in touch! I’ll be doing another O/On30 layout at some point
@modelrailroadadventureswit6347 Ugh! I work Wednesdays until 530 in Iowa City, and then we have our weekly work session with the Hawkeye Model Railroaders until we are too tired to do any more work. My weekends are Fridays and Saturdays, so those are the only days I might be able to get there.
@@modelrailroadadventureswit6347 I never knew there was a layout in the basement!! I only have seen the one in the window!
The place is amazing and I love creaking floors reminds me of my grandparents house❤
It is a wonderful old store and yeah I agree that creaking floor just adds character 😄
Another great Adventure with Bill. Ever watch the show "Pickers", this store reminds me of some of the places they go, and there's SO MUCH they don't know where to start.
Lynn I have watched that show and you are absolutely right. The great thing here is you can bargain just like on Pickers 😂😂
Wonderful video and thanks for sharing. Dave
Thank you, Bill for sharing. Great little museum that one day I will need to visit. If you ever are in the Chicago area I would highly recommend you visit the Illinois railway museum in Union Illinois. This is a place that you would thoroughly enjoy especially if you visit during one of their special events weekends. Google Illinois Railway museum to look at their website. Again, thank you for all the wonderful videos you supply to the model Railroad community on RUclips.
What a great museum in little Iowa town. The garbage truck collection is special. Thanks for sharing Bill. 👍👍👍
As one of the members who runs the layout and one of the board members you did a fantastic job
It’s also amazing, we get carried away with detail. But man does it make the layout look so much better
It would be OK if he took the white clouds and went to top and over give more character and a few lower clouds that you see on the top of the trees. I’m just saying.
I hope to make it down to Roanoke again one day and will look it up for sure. I would be able to say, I seen this from start to finish online. Safe trip Bill.
