I think a BF3/BF4 setting would be outdated. Given that warfare has changed in the past 4 years with the Armenian-Azerbaijan War and the War in Ukraine, I think the next Battlefield will need to incorporate quad-copters dropping grenades, RC cars packed with C4, a mix of Rural and Urban settings, with trenches, sewers, culverts, basically multiple paths for infantry to seek for cover and flanks to combat the combined arms of Heavy and Light Armour, Heli's, Jets, and Drones. And they need to bring back the movement/physics, and cover construction/sandbags/base building mechanics of BFV. You do that with the gun customization of BF4, the balanced mix of Urban and Rural maps like BF3 had, with a blend of BF4 and BFV's destruction (BFV's destruction was the most detailed RE splintering walls), the squad call ins and the character customization of BFV, and the PLUS system from 2042, with BF1's scale and immersion... man... Battlefield would be back on top, like it was when BF1 came out.

I think BFV nailed the actual feel the most of any of the games, planes were VERY responsive and intuitive, but it was missing key mechanics like ideal turn speed which made dog fights just infinite loops, and ofc they had stupid attrition. 2042 is the worst by far, I been flying since BF3, and I fly planes irl also, and I can't hit shit with 2042 planes, the yaw acceleration is unbearable, not to mention totally unrealistic. Planes, especially fighters, are extremely sensitive to your inputs, idk why they would make that shit so sluggish, its not realistic or fun to fly like that. Imo they need BFV jet handling but BF3/4 mechanics, and BFV plane variety. And more of a focus on fire-and-forget weapons than lock-ons. Takes more skill and is a lot more fun.

In a short comment: I would like Battlefield to actually feature genuine weaponry that Military actually uses.
    - Be Modern and utilizes actual weapons and real life availability to Soldiers.
    - Have capabilities of Physics that border-line real life. (Including vests and tactical advantages.)
    - Complex customization. It's nice to actually feel part or create yourself into the game rather have pre-designed individuals. (Cosmetics could improve that longevity for live service.)
    - Physics that actually take Skill for flying, But enough to add-Skill it makes the experienced pilots have better utilization and its that chosen role.
    - Vehicles that actually impact or situations that can turn the tide of battle by strategy and communication.
Like Most Modern FPS games, They take away from some of the realism and make it "Super soldier like." and that's very unappealing as nobody in the world is able to pick up specialty weapons and turn the tide of battle. Super soldiers don't exist. "Sorry Captain America, You're not going to be in the next video game." :/
Squad & War Thunder should be taken as an inspiration of what they could do, Without actually taking too much from the similarity... More Modern.

For music, i dont think the new battlefield game should have a BF4 esk sountrack. It sounds scratchy and non-sensical.
Orchestral music from BF5 and BF1's end of round properly incapsulated the futility of war. It conveyed an existential fear, or otherwise a bitter-sweet push for victory. It was a fitting sound for the end of times, because for many people fighting in war, that's exactly what it is.
There's nothing really moving or contextually appropriate for BF4/3/2042's scratchy "shorting out soundboard" type of music when it comes to battlefield. It only ushers in the end of the round, but fails to make sense and put into perspective the end of a climactic battle.
I can't even remember the ost for BF4/3/2042, because they all sound the same at the end, and the only one that even comes to mind accurately is Bf4's end theme, which as previously stated, isnt very moving.
TLDR; Bf4 music is for robots. Orchestral bf1/5 music is much for human.

    • @dragonbornexpress5650

I loved the orchestral stuff in Battlefield 1, but it's always nice to experiment with different genres. (Especially if it's going back to modern times where all kinds of people have all kinds of different tastes in music.) Orchestra, 80's synthwave, big band jazz, rock, etc. Older COD games actually understood this pretty well to a degree, particularly games like World at War or Black Ops 1 and 2. (Which, in my eyes, means older COD games should be the model for music in Battlefield.)

Note about the additional vehicles being made available after capturing specific flags... BF3/4 had it on Caspian Border I believe... But it worked well in BF1 in my opinion, because Behemoths would arrive to help the losing team push back. I think BF1 was one of the most balanced Battlefield entries next to BF3 and BF:BC2. Also BFV had squad call ins that would help significantly when used to either flank, clear out a building or area, or push back when you're getting overwhelmed by the other team. Sadly not enough people would use it.

Dice has burned this bridge too many times over promising the moon and then being completely unfinished. This is coming from a BF fan since 1942. Take BF2, 3 and 4 and make it modern shooter. But dice will try to over innovate, focus on specialist 2.0 or some other crap. My advice, dont' pre order the game at all.

  • @Real_MisterSir
    @Real_MisterSir Месяц назад +2

I think an issue with these surveys, is what the premise of the question is.
Like, if you ask someone "would you want an incredible battle royale/extraction style hyperrealistic yet approachable mode in the next Battlefield game?" -I recon many would say yes, that sounds sick if its done well.
However, if you ask someone "do you think we at Dice can confidently deliver that experience without fumbling?" then the overwhelming answer would be HELL NO.
And that's the problem, it's not so much whether or not people always want or dont want things, it's also just as much about whether players have confidence in the developers actually pulling it off in a good way, rather than fumble and turn the game into a joke as a result. That's often why people tend to lean more towards conservative visions for games, because conservative ideas lean on what they know works, what they believe can be pulled off again -just a bit better. It's a safer bet -especially when the game studio has proven that they are incapable of doing something unorthodox for the franchise in a successful manner.
The only thing I'd actively say no to in a survey like this, would be a question of "do you want us to pursue what is trendy in the fps gaming scene" vs "do you want us to pursue what we believe genuinely would be appreciated by our core playerbase".
This is the only question I would want to answer with confidence.

For example, I love the idea behind the "PLUS" system in BF2042, but I hate the execution of it. The instant swap just makes it entirely arcade and reminds me of COD run and gunning. There should be more tactical awareness to it, it should take some time to change out the mods, there should be animations for swapping certain things like barrel extensions and scopes etc. Make it so you have to find a good cover, spend maybe a solid 10 seconds for a big swap, and then you're primed and ready to engage with a new loadout on your weapon.
Anything that gives players options, but also forces them to think about when and where to make use of those options, is good for the game. Making things instant effect, removes a massive part of the "think before you act" aspect, which is inherently unhealthy for a strategic+tactical open scale shooter like Battlefield.

What players think they want and what the franchise needs are very different things - especially when you consider the history of the Battlefield franchise where it went from an IP that was very different from CoD, to a game series that intentionally removed a lot of what made it special in order to cater to the Call of Duty fan base.
In many ways Battlefield 3 was the beginning of the end as with this game EA ordered DICE to "take down Call od Duty" - for which you have to become Call of Duty in many ways.
As EA and DICE continue to aim for the big payday, they will not design the next game to have a rewarding and addictive gameplay loop (like they used to prior to Battlefield 3) they will continue to appeal to the Call of Duty fanbase and provide the same blant, repetitive experience.

This are some things just to give you an idea), but I really don't want to see Isaac Clarke wondering around the map with a rocket launcher or a character dressed as a football player with a sniper rifle

-Chaotic, war-like atmosphere with impressive sound design (as in BF1)

I find this survey relatively interesting and hope that DICE not only sees the survey but also takes it to heart. There are certain points in it that have gone wrong in Battlefield in recent years. I don't always agree with the majority, but that's ok and should concern the majority. But it's important to find a good consensus and that's where DICE failed in Bf2042 and to some extent in BfV too. Even in Bf1 there are some points that a large part of the community doesn't like.
The most important thing for DICE should be: No weird experiments and they shouldn't change certain core features. I'm looking at server browser, class system etc.

Bad Company 2 was the best Battlefield ever made. They way the maps were made for Rush game mode, the buildings around the m-comms fall to the ground one by one, advancing through the battlefield after destroying the stations. Conquest never really suited Battlefield, its a rather whimsical and weird game-mode, where as Rush keeps the intensity up throughout the game and invites players to work together instead of running around from flag to flag. Thats my opinion. I think its sad that Rush gamemode was left in the dirt...

    The post-launch argument is simple:
Live-service is the best option. It doesn't split the community and everyone can be excited for what's to come.
People are so hung up on shitting on the live-service execution of BF5 and BF2042 that it makes them hate live service in general.
If a live-service season had as much content as a BF3 DLC, then why the hell would you want to have to pay for the new content?
The absolute best model for post-launch support is having 3-4 maps per season, 1 new vehicles at least(with a variant for each faction), 4-5 new weapons and the occasional gadgets sprinkled in. Everything would be obtainable for free and would also be obtainable after the season's end.
There would be a battlepass for $10-15 bucks that would focus mostly on cosmetics and an item shop for people to buy whatever other new cosmetic they want.
Playerbase stays united, people that want to spend more money on cosmetics get to do so and everyone wins.
In the end, if a game is good enough and it has a good amount of content with each update, players are more willing to spend on cosmetics. Fortnite has proven this so many times and it's probably the most succesful live-service game out there.
On a last note, having to pay $10-15 on a DLC for content you might not necessarily enjoy fully, is not the best way to go(plus again it's splitting the playerbase).
Like, imagine going to a restaurant and ordering a dish but you hate all the side stuff that comes with it. You wanna have that burger but the sweet potatoes and salad that come on the side, you don't really want but have to pay for anyway.

The game that everybody wants it's basically battlefield. 4, if you would just take battlefield 4 and copy and paste everything that game is with newer graphics 60 Hz, custom servers and a 120 fps, you would have a perfect game. Battlefield is not supposed to be an arcade. Easy shooter, it's a competitive squad based game. With a heavy emphasis on teamwork, if you're a medic you revive people and throughout health, if your support, you throw down ammo if you're an engineer, you heal tanks and vehicles and blow up tanks and other vehicles, if you're a sniper, you're all recon that is what battlefield is and that's what this game needs to be, or this franchise is over. It needs to be a medium movement speed. No slide hopping, no slide canceling, just bare bones. Movement with the heavy infancy on teamwork and gunplay suppression needs to be a part of this game that was a staple of battlefield. It adds a level to gunfights, making you choose how to engage and when to engage and who to engage first, it adds more immersion.
No hero shooter c***, no RKD type gameplay. You shouldn't be able to pick up the controller. Your first game ever playing it and drop 50 kills. It takes time and effort to learn the maps. Learn your role. Learn the guns you like to use and become effective with them. That is battlefield

The video game industry keeps making things more expensive. But if the product they make is good they can price it lower, by default more people will feel inclined to buy, and they can get lots of money they way.
But I feel like they know the actual quality is bad and just price things higher so they can make more money by willing fewer units

When it comes to releases, the first "extra" release should be within 3 monthes. After that 6 monthes (with good content). For this to work, most of these extras for the 2-3 first years should basicly allready exist when the game launches. So the content comming in the 3 year gets to cook for almost 2 years while the 4 and 5 year extras gets a longer creation time and testing. So that it acually changes the content and game up a bit after 4 years. (Maps; I would like newer version of older maps. Like Karkand but with areas and parts that you will instantly recognize but other parts rebuilt. Then of course new maps. The destruction should be around BF3 level, that is enough and some parts levelution style. What kind of maps; Infantry / Infantry + Vehicals / Vehicals + infantry. I allso think there should be DLCs with more styled maps for Air / ground combat for those who like that. Battlefield can and should be a sum of all that was. Focused on what the community wants.) As long as we get a Battlerecorder, thats the only tool I really want. I loved to make videos from that.
