YOU MADE MY DAY 👍
Always glad to make your day! BTW, I looked for a number of those female bands you suggested and didn't have a whole lot of luck. I think that is due to many of them being from the 1940s and my collection is limited in that era to a select group I like.
Anything goes and these selections are among the best of the time - great to enjoy good music again.............
All your posts are so good, but this is fabulous! Terrific selection - and truly 'Happy' music!
Super excellent with very good interesting photos
Super duper glad you liked it!
Thanks for these lovely Treats.
Frank Luther does such a great job. He was a prolific singer of the era. Thank you.
Bonsoir, this was brilliant music and singing so joyful. I don't comment often, but I add a thumb up everytime I listen, which has been about every day for over two months, I am not a specilaist but I know wgat I like and this is it. Merci Bob from France.
Thanks for listening Chinablue C and great having viewers from France. Stay safe and well!
A knock-out set, with a number of unheard versions. "Montana Call," "Get Happy," "Swingin' in a Hammock" and "Afraid to Dream" are extremely nifty. The young Artie Shaw is immediately recognizable on the RWK "It Don't Mean a Thing". Love those '30's!
Thank u pac 41u are great!
Thanks for the smooth and snappy tunes! "they're the bee's knees".
Fantastic sounds album good!
heyaaah, Bob 🙋
YOU *ALWAYS* MAKE MY DAY 💕
YOU'RE THE CREAM IN MY COFFEE
#2 "Montana Call"
reminds me a little bit of
the "Song of India" 😉
Montana Call by Olsen is such a great song. Isn't this coffee much better than the other kool-aid being offered today. 🙃🙂 Thank you for watching and great comments.
I think this is my favorite of your vids. They just are so nice and upbeat. I particularly love Montana Call and I always love Rudy Vallee. He always had great selections and arrangements - I know why he was so popular.
Montana Call is a great tune and this Olsen version is the best. I had lot more Rudy and I need to post some of them. I am currently working on a hit series by year based on the information from a book I have. Rudy is sure to show up in many of those posts.
Great showcase of American dance bands. Every one a winner!
The Olsen piece is my favorite. Always a pleasure to have your comments on here Peter.
pax41 Very difficult to choose one that stands out. The Lombardo was the most unexpected as I'm more accustomed to Guy's sweet music, and "Baby" was hot and punchy.
Panachord Lombardo could play hot when they wanted to. I have heard several recordings where they do.
The best I love músic .!!!
Thanks again.
super duper selections. made the day a lot brighter. thanks again for all the great music.
I LOVE TO COME HERE TO ESCAPE FROM THIS MODERN WORLD WERE IN RIGHT NOW. WITH ALL THE KILLING AND HATE GOING ON OUT THERE. THIS WAS SO MUCH A GREATER TIME AND I JUST WISH UPON A WISH I COULD GO BACK TO THESE GREAT TIMES AND TRULY ENJOY THEM.
Dan, I agree and I use this music to try and escape back to this era. I wish things were a bit more like this period but with modern day medicine available.
I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you for putting all of these up.
Really choice selection of these 30s favourites - greatly enjoyed on this beautiful early autumn day.
Glad you liked it down under, much more to come.
I play these all the time! PS - So nice to hear Rudy Vallee! And I love the voice of Joan Brooks.
I will be posting more Rudy soon and there are some good Rudy posts on the KPAX41 1930s & 1940s music channel. That is a spin off of this channel.
Thank you!
Glad you liked it Lucy and thank you for watching.
how did out music get lost .... love the way we were then.....
My brother was given a Slingerland Maybelle , a short scale 4 string ( tenor) banjo. He gave it to me to explore since he knows I Like this 20's- 30's music so much. Banjo is essential with this music. As a guitar player for 36 years now I should be able to get it pretty quick. Obviously more strumming than finger picking, but lots of chord changes. Love it! Any input would be appreciated. I already found Eddie Davis's RUclips channel yesterday. Wow, what a player of that era he is:)
As always, thanks Bob for your awesome uploads and hope you are enjoying a new crop of clients wanting to look trim as the sun comes back for Spring and Summer.
Thank you for the well wishes. Great to hear from you as always too.
Katie Cavera and John Reynolds of Reynolds Brothers have some of tenor and lots of plectrum banjo videos up.
See also Blazin' Banjos vids from festivals.
Makes my heart jump to hear Roger Wolfe Kahn's rendition of "It Don't Mean a Thing" - great memories of two long lost friends who also loved this stuff!
Got any more RWK - "Cooking Breakfast for the One I Love" or "A Shine on Your Shoes" ?? Thanks.
I have several tunes posted on my channel by him.. If you use the search bar on my channel you can pull them up. I just posted one last week by him. I have a whole bunch more by him not posted.
Okay thanks
O'Boy just wonderful
Glad you liked it John!
Super set that represents some of the best from a time when "Swingin' in a Hammock" was considered great fun. All good, Bob - keep 'em coming.
I put up a 3 selection post by the Anglo Persians for the playlist section.
I also tweaked the sound more on these.
super maravilloso, gracias por esta musica que trae tantos lindos recuerdos
Me too....Great music!!!!
Yes Lombardo's "Baby" is from 1928, but if you run it thru Audacity and lower the speed by one third without changing pitch, it sound just like Guy did in the 30s.
Cut 7 is "Sweet Heartache," from the picture "Hit Parade." I'll include a scan of that cover as well, Bob.
I knew that but must have missed adding it when I put this post up.
The Lombardo selection was provided to me by another collector friend. I didn't do the transfer, just some restoration work to it. Are you saying you think he has it playing at the wrong speed? Wouldn't lowering the speed autmatically change the pitch?
It sounds dead-on to me. Just a reflection on fashions in tempo.
Guy Lombardo!
Love it!
William Guerriero On my favorite group of songs.
Your channel is my go to! 💕
Thank you for watching, much appreciated.
como siempre...lo mejor
Hey, Bob! These are SUPER FANTASTIC! I Love Your selections for Your videos! You had one from the 1930s with Dick Robertson vocal, I cant remember the Orchestra, But I believe the title was "Get Rhythm" In it he says something about swing to that "Rock And Roll" Or "Give Me that Rock And Roll" I Have scrolled Your video`s and can`t find it! There was a Couple of My videos Deleted! I am hoping that they were not Yours!! Stupid Copyright issues! I`m thinking about Uploading all of them on a Flash Drive and issueing them again and again if they delete them and taking responsibility for it! What ever they do they just do!! I believe anything over 75 Years old should be PUBLIC DOMANE! And not Warner or sony`s!!!
Maybe it was Bob Haring or the Colonial Club?
It may have been! I`ll keep looking, But only one problem, I CAN`T STOP PLAYING All of the videos as I am looking!

Swinging in a hammock
Underneath the trees
Just you and I together
Swaying in the breeze
And we'll be listening to a bluebird
Singing up above
He says he will be the lookout
While we're making love
Pax41: Is any of your music like we are listening to now on CDs? Thanks. Alan
I have made custom cd's for people in the past. They could pick out 20 songs and it was $20.00 plus the shipping and handling would add another $5.00.
The gal who sings "Afraid to Dream" does 100% than B.G.'s version with a very weak vocal by Betty Van.
I agree 100%! Joan Brooks does a great job!
Rudy Vallee
sounds like a Brrritish Dance Band
Rudy is one of my favorite American bands of the era. Remember a number of British band leaders came from the US, such as Carroll Gibbons, Roy Fox and Ray Starita to name a few.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
