Listened to #7 six times in a row, like I once did with #5 in the past. Tram, Big T and brother Charlie soon formed *The Three T's,* the tailspin title derives from Tram's skills as engineer and pilot, he was a passionate aviator, later served for the Civil Aeronautics Authority. #4 is a lovely rendition of this perennial.
Muchas gracias amigo! 😊
Remember my grandfather. It is their era. Wonderful music. World was simple then. Thank you.
As a pro. entertainer, I recorded over 9 albums, my radio show had....OVER FIFTEEN MILLION LISTENERS!!!! BUT! I was born just after WW2 ended, I SOOOOO LOVE BIG BAND MUSIC, BUT! I SOOO LOVE THIS MUSIC JUST BEFORE I WAS BORN.....I SOOOOO LOVE IT!
I was born two decades later than you and I too love the music of this era.
What a time for music
Where are the dance bands today
This music will always be the best

It is quite remarkable how many wonderful songs have been given to the world from back in the day. I am sure those responsible for such songs would be overjoyed by the way you have presented their music Pax41.

You are welcome Sarah and thank you for watching the channel.
I just want to thank you for all the wonderful music you have shared with all of us . It means a great deal to me.
+ellenhawk My pleasure Ellen and thanks for watching
+pax41 - I am in total agreement with ellenhawk's comments. I spend several hours each day with YT as the background to my life - and the music I hear is mainly from Bob's addition to the archive. There are many who have made important contributions to his unique resource, but I think no one has contributed more than pax41.
+UkraineBusinessOnline UBO Jim, thanks for the kind words. It's getting harder to do this with the copyright claims both false (mostly) and the few valid. The valid ones are wrong to begin with since all of this should have been in the public domain by now. Congress sold out to Sonny Bono (Disney & others) to keep their copyrights beyond what was deemed a fair time. Even the UK only allows a max of 75 years.
makes me feel good thanx Matt NY
THANK YOU SO MUCH, it's a real treat to listen to, YOU did the hard work, we all know know it,your keeping the great past alive and well !!!
+streetcar54 Thank you and it is getting difficult to continue this due so many copyright claims. Many are not valid and others are, sadly. The copyright law in the US is so wrong, compared to say the UK. We have changed it so many times in the last 100 years. It was 28 years and you could renew another 28 years, giving a total of 56 years. Then it got extended to 95 years, even on material that had passed into the public domain. The UK gave theirs a max of 75 years and it didn't extend to works already in the public domain. This really shows how corrupt our government is, they are bought and sold. One reason I believe in term limitations for these people. Thanks again for watching.
Thanks again.
Rudy may have had a temper, but he also had a great voice...a pleasure to listen to.
I agree, still like his singing.
Thank you for the music.
JUST FOUND LOADS MORE.....WOW!!!!!
You might search the playlist section for musical groupings based on various criteria. It makes it easier to search the archive if you don't know the artist you want.
Great collection,thank you so much.
Welcome Alex and glad you liked it.
Great songs, thanks for posting!
Welcome and thank you for watching the channel!
Amazing music...!!! What an era...!!!
Thanks a bunch for these Treats.
this is amazing
Glad you liked it RC.
Superlative
thanks for these treats again
Welcome Richard
I will be broadcasting 3 Live shows tomorrow. They will be at 10AM, 2PM and 5PM Central time and each will feature a different period of music. Hope you can tune in.
The clarity of the first offering is fantastic for a 1932 recording!
A couple factors enabled me to get this to sound really good. I have a really mint condition copy of the record and it is a Columbia recording. Columbia records that are in good shape can sound really good.
I think you may like the sound on this post of mine too ruclips.net/video/eZLixabxeJM/видео.html
Wonderful, as always! Thank you for brightening our days!
My pleasure Jenny and glad you are enjoying the posts.

30's Kid forever!
Amen to that!
👍👍👍🌹🌹🌹👏👏👏💐💐💐❤❤❤
Thanks again
9:55 I'm obsessed with this clickety woodblock sound; they've always used it to denote skeletons in Silly Symphonies and I just adore it!
If you listen to the music of Ted FioRito you will hear it used frequently during this era. I like it too!
Great stuff thank you so much pax41
My pleasure and thank you for watching my channel.
wow the music is fantastic.....thanks!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching.
Class act!
Thank you very much for this magic music and the detailed description!
Thanks for the fantastic big-band sounds. Musically, I'd say "Zing Went the Strings of My Heart" is years ahead of all of 'em. Judy Garland thought so too, as she chose it (at age 13) for her MGM audition.
Richard Himber always does a great job and this number is proof of it.
Thank you sincerly.
+Raymond Campana You are very welcome
I quite enjoyed hearing that Enoch Light record. Enoch Light's 30s band is seldom remembered.
Fantastic set Bob. Thank you for reposting this set.
This set has been up Craig but I did some updates today that may have caused the video to surface. Glad you enjoyed it, it's one of my favorite posts.
Hi Bob! First a big compliment about your restorations. They are superb. And again, I've never ever heard one of these versions before. You are doing really pioneering work here.
Of course I know 'June in January' and 'Zing', but these are particularly nice.
Wonderful, thank you!!!
Very fine set! Top honors to Whiteman on "Tailspin" -- great playing by Frank Trumbauer, who co-composed the tune with Jimmy Dorsey.
Finally the comments showed up today. I was wondering what was going on with YT. That one is my favorite too.
Wow! Such a wonderful choice of music gems that you have out together! I use an audio equalizer to just lightly add even more enjoyment to these beautiful melodies. Thanks so much!
Glad you like the selections! Thank you for watching the channel and for the compliment. 😀
AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME! Selection Bob!! Nothing But The Best! INDEED! Did anyone notice the slight melodies of "Rain" & "Singing In The Rain" at 23:24 to 23:45, In "Save A Rainy Day For Me"?? This is Why I Love This Music! If You listen closely You will hear little touches of WONDERFUL!!
una joya esta recompilacion gracias por la musica
Hilda, que bueno volver a saber de ti y siempre me alegra escuchar que te gusta la música.
@@pax41 gracias por tu comentario muchos cariños aunque no te escribo seguido , te escucho siempre
13:07 straight-up sounds exactly like the 1950s easy-listening orchestral tunes I can think of. Wow, the kid composers were really inspired by their parents' music, I guess!!!
FANTABBYDOZY!!!!!
Another terrific set of music from "Pax41". Believe me, you're not taken for granted. It takes a lot of time and hard work to put together the music and the great video you show with each song. I often wonder if you have a mammoth collection of sheet music and other related photos from the 1920's and 1930's, etc. to show all the wonderful photos you do that are related to each song you play. Whatever the case, many many thanks for the great job that you do. I just love your taste in music!
Very best regards,
Joe Cro
Thank you Joe, I appreciate the kind words.
As V(
By the way Joe, I do have a large collection of magazines from the teens, 20's and 30's. I really like the old graphics and stories from them.
Hello Pax41 and many thanks for letting me know about your collection of magazines from the "era" we love our music from. I particularly like the radio magazines from that era. I collect, restore and use vintage Amateur Radio gear on the air and love to see the ads for some of the equipment I have.I also like to read some of the stories about new equipment offerings, radio personalities, etc etc.
I also collect old Broadcast sets and love to hear "period" music played through them. It gives the music another dimension.
The best of luck in building your magazine collection. To me, cruising through them looking at the ads and reading various stories beats watching television anytime!
Esplendido anos 30.
Lovin this
fab
Glad you enjoyed it Vanessa and thank you for watching the channel.
que maravilla de musica, inolvidable, a veces pienso como las personas no disfrutan de esta musica, que está en nuestro recuerdo y no olvidaremos nunca
Glad you enjoyed these Hilda and thank you for watching.
7:43 the melody reminds me of Al Bowlly's "Guilty" 1934!
MARVELOUS, as always, so delightful!! FOR MY PL!!
Happy weekend :))
Great selection! It's always a pleasure to reach you and profit from your wonderful taste!!!
Indeed, always great music here, dear Beth :))
All great, but I especially like three, six and eight
Artie Shaw and Elmer Feldkamp in the band around this time
I am truly enjoying your channel. Wonderful quality. I listen to it almost every night before I go to sleep. Greetings from the Netherlands.
So glad you are enjoying my channel and great to have a viewer from the Netherlands. Thank You!
23:42
OH I HEAR THEM SLIPPIN IN "Singin' in the rain" Hahahaaa
Bob,is that "Heaven Help This Heart Of Mine" off a Buff Bluebird?. It was really nice.
Lou, yes I believe it is.
17:34 You can tell this is a late 1930s song because of the way the women are given a lower melody to sing. I believe in a song from 1932, for example, they're have women singing an even higher version of the melody; it may have been too risque to have women use the lower registers of their singing voices.
Hi Bob, I just saw the announcement of the vocalists in the Kahn number, What a horrible pun, brrr.
yep
Peter Hendriksma it made me laugh!
The Whiteman song has a lot in common with Sid Phillips' arrangements for Ambrose in the 2nd half of the 30s. Nice loose rhythm, a really hot band, but not the dreaded riffs of Swing, which made almost every band sound alike.
I love this music and I have ever since I discovered it in the late 1960's via the 78 collections of my mother's stepfather and grandfather. I'm so used to hearing "It's June ini January" sung by Bing
Crosby, and "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart" by Judy Garland, it's fascinating to hear what these very different singers did with those songs. I also loved the Paul Whiteman "Tail Spin" (I once posted on another page that I think Frank Trumbauer is the most underrated jazz musician of all time) and the guitar obbligato behind the Joe Rines & Coletta Ryan "Save a Rainy Day for Me" (anyone out there know who it is?)/
;)
Why such high fidelity? I hear no hiss at all!
Music has crispness of best disc recordings.
These records were in good shape so I am able to get good sound from the transfers.
It mustve been reàlly weird having $, when everyone else was broke.
May i share it?
Please do RC.
Where did u get it?
These are all from my collection and a friends collection of 78's. I do all the restorations to the sound.
The sound is outstanding!
Thanks again.
Delightful
Thanks again
