Welcome Larry, I enjoy many periods of music. My wife and I just got done watching Meet Me In St Louis tonight. I don't think either of us had seen it before and I didn't realize that Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas was from that movie. I have always thought that the early 1900's was also an exciting time to live in the US. Many new inventions coming into use and the US was a manufacturing giant. I also like the homes and clothing from the period as well. Thank you for watching all the videos Larry.
Hearing this nice sounds of gone times, mekes me to think that those past times were, in this sense, way away of those we are actually living and wish to jump back in time and run the risk of getting back to years before being born, assuming these years, after all, were not so bad as we are made to belive!.
Well its a rainy winter sunday afternoon way down here in Wellington NZ and this music is just a perfect way to spend the time. Just loving it as usual.
So odd to hear you mention Winter and here we are getting ready for Summer. I can't stand the really hot weather in Summer but right now it's nice. Stay well John and thank you for watching the channel, much appreciated.
I absolutely love the music of the 1930's and 1940's. Thank you for your efforts to provide these wonderful selections. You have put a smile😁 on my face.

I always loved the 1900s but since producing Stage Door three years ago, I have fallen in love with the music of the 1930s. Anything under 1940 comes up on TCM and I'm there, especially if it was pre-code '30 to '33. Thank you for posting this music!
What a splendid compilation, I love track eight: "When you love" with that fabulous trumpet solo, most probably featuring Bunny Berigan. I do not recall hearing this song and wonder if anyone else has. My records show no other band or soloist ever releasing this number as a record available to the public in either the USA or Great Britain. Any thoughts?
The Ohs and Ahs just keep on coming with this channel of wonderful classic music from the 1930s. Always a great trip into the past with the excellent renditions of Pax41!
I LOVE All Of these! The HIT OF THE WEEK "Lonesome Lover" by Vincent Lopez is MY FAVORITE Version of this Song! The Staccato Playing after Lew`s vocal is AWESOME! BOY They get after it! I Love the Loud Banjo Cling right at 2:01, DRIVES ME HAPPY CRAZY! What wonderful Music!
"Lonesome Lover'! This version cant be beat! It starts out normal right into the vocal, THEN LET`S LOOSE AT 1:45 then The Banjo hits a Small solo chord that Drives Me Wild!! To the End, WITH SOME OF THE MOST AWESOME PLAYING I HAVE EVER HEARD! I Love this Record so much! I Have Two! I am not Musically Knowledgeable, What would this be called when they abruptly Staccato Play the Instruments Where they Drop the notes like this!?? OH ALL OF THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL!
Love these music memories come up. Where have the good years gone? Life is so short that it was still music. Unfortunately, today they take off their clothes on stage to pull people into theirs.
Nice music that makes oneself to fly away this reality that corners our lives into crazy stress and trouble. Possibly, we and personally myself, were not present that times word lived, but music and performance make me feel were not worse than harsh reality we are immersed right now, full of umpersonal technologies that throw people away as . junk

@@jourwalis-8875 ⚜ Dear 8875: Hmm, what exactly, is it about the '40's music that you find a bit tiresome? I'm just curious about the word, "tiresome," and why you used that particular word. With a little elaboration, I might agree to some extent, but let's see. ~James🛡
This is one of my favorites sets in this recent period! Terrific version of "Lonesome Lover" -- I have Isham Jones', which too is superb. The lyrics of the 30's represented the feelings of the great depression era. Hopeful ,optimistic and laced with a little reality
Best lyrics era ever John!

It's a great compilation of 30s stuff here, both lively fox trots, as well as slower, sweeter ones.
Here you have a recording from 1928! Very nice!

I agree it is most likely Berigan on the solo. Asking a friend to see if he knows the answer to your question.
No, I don't believe I've ever heard it on any other recording. You're right Great Berigan solo.

I prefer your 30's & 40's music rather than 20's & 30's (when combined). The 20's music tends to get on my nerves, not unlike our modern 20's era.
