I am going to do a post with that theme Bonnie B! Hope you are well 🙂 and can stand all the crazy stuff going on now. I try to not be political but the current climate reminds me of what Germany experienced in the 1930's. I am sure you know that isn't a good thing.
@@pax41 dear Bob! PLEASE REMEMBER: the german music of the 30ies was the REAL mirror of our german souls 💗 and EVERY GOVERNMENT HAS BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS‼️
Thank you for posting, Pax41. This is music that I could enjoy dancing to and that I really like. It makes you want to get dressed up in something long and slinky with a flowing, fluid skirt cut on the bias like those beautiful gowns of the '30's. Oh heck, let's bring back dressing up, and live music, and restaurants and cabarets with these live bands, chorus dancers and taxi dancers for the singles, and love of and spare time for dancing, etc. Am I asking for too much? I don't think so because people might be happier with the changes.
Heavenly -- to borrow from the last song; incidentally, terrific version of that one. Also marvelous are "You Brought a New Kind of Love to Me," "This Is Romance," "Give Me Liberty," "What a Difference" and "The Breeze."
Cut 4: It's worth noting that Kenny Sargent played the bari sax lead as well as singing with Casa Loma. He sings here in a much higher register than he typically did.
Randomly clicked on this suggested video among other videos from different people. Thanks for sharing this, as soon as the music starts, i was drawn into it. They are very nice.
You can't go wrong by starting out with Arden and Ohman recordings in my opinion. These two guys and their orchestra are one of my all time early 30's orchestras. Their orchestra may well be the closest example to what a Broadway orchestra of this era would have sounded like. Have a wonderful week Gary! 🙂
I never realized how prolific Frank Luther was. He directed The Fantasticks, among other things. He was quite versatile and accomplished. He had a great voice and I'm glad that he had a long and successful musical career.
It always surprises me when I hear a song that I knew from a 1950s version. And thwn I think: oh, that was not an old song, it was an older song. One from the 30s. Some have been recycled so many times!
Pax41 is such a wonderful channel. I discovered it this year, and often dip-in. This selection is a particularly splendid one; gently uplifting. It surely is possible to be nostalgic about the music of one's grandparents' era. Aural honey. That's all, nothing more too add!
Lovely songs! I have a stack of the True Confessions, and a few others, left in my grandmother's attic from years ago. In the 1930's, a young girl had rented the place. It was anything but comfortable! The ads are a blast! Thank you for sharing this great collection, Pax!
Glad you enjoyed it Sailorette1 and those all magazine and ads are indeed a blast. I have been using them in my more recent posts as visual content. Thank you for watching the channel.

I've been in the paramount theater before it was torn down and to hear that organ line would just blow your mind and fill that huge theater with such amazing sound. I actually cried when they tore it down and don't even ask me what happened to me when they tore down the roxy, what an amazing building. I don't believe it would oven torn down today. It was a crime

Hermosísima música
Whenever i'm in a terrible mood or feeling really down, I put this music on.Oh my god. That lifts me rate off like a magic wand
Fantastic piano sound from 1930 on Track 1!
Just love 20s and 30s music. You can hear the words and the orchestra doesn't drown them out. Love it all.
John, glad you enjoyed the music and thank you for watching the channel.
"What free love did to me"!
LOVE IT! Definely going to my playlist.
What a grand time I'm having lstening to these great selections!
The vocals of Frank Luther are the pearls in the musical crown of this compilation!
Another dose of this wonderful musical medicine; a cure-all for whatever ails a person.
I like this post too Larry. I played it this morning too.
Great to hear worthwhile muic from so long ago that I thought was completely forgotten!

You ignor theatre organ yet the 4/20 WurliTzer in the CBS studios in the New York Paramount building was broadcast daily all through the 1930's. Why?
There are plenty of theatre organ pieces posted on the channel Johnny.
