Ac condenser dealing with this right now so going to be swapping that out . Also the buttons for the ac on the Scions wear out so it’ll stay stuck in the hot setting .
A buddy of mine has a scion and his ac blows but not cold we checked the L)owpressure line and it said overarched and mechanic issue it was between yellow and red what else can I check the fans are blowing and the it blows air just no cold help please
I have an 06 scion xb my question is my ac condenser just leaked out all my freon and I have been driving for a few weeks with no a.c. I bought the ac condenser and do you think my ac compressor is no good anymore? My issue was only a leak on my ac condenser but I don't know if me driving with the compressor spinning kills it. Thanks.
did you check the AC amplifier? some of the scion xbs have a clutchless compressor and the AC amplifier goes out constantly.... it's the black box with a metal angle support, single screw holds it in and some control the abs and traction control.... just take the wiring out and jump the closest ventricle pair.... should be blue/black, black/blue, if AC starts cooling it's a bad amplifier....
A hint toward figuring it out is that this is a clutch less compressor. It has a swash plate that goes to flat position so it doesn't pump. Also check your pressures while running with ac on.
Same issue here. Compressor has power going to it and compressor works fine. Freon is full blower motor blows fuses all good (not sure about relay) and compressor won't engage
Having the same issue replaced compressor Motor blower and relay also the temperature control panel also checked my fuses and relays. Im still getting the same problem no ac coming through the vents. Did any one figure out what the problem is?
Your AC's expansion valve may be stuck and need replacing. Cold refrigerant may not be entering your evaporator. There is really no way to test the valve (its between the hose and the evaporator at the firewall)- you just have to replace it and cross your fingers. But you have to evacuate the system of contaminates and refill the system with refrigerant and oil in the exact amounts-too little or too much it will run hot. You need the pressure gauge's and vacuum from AutoZone or Harbor Freight. I rebuilt my XB's AC after it was in a car accident. I replaced the following parts: condensor, compressor, expansion valve, high pressure and low pressure hoses. I couldn't replace the evaporator (the disassembly is a super difficult job on this car- and I'm a professional computer/network tech. Luckily it blows 42 degrees F at the vents and 50F on hot days above 90F.
We have the same problem on our 2006 scion xb it was also in an accident. We replaced everything you mentioned except the expansion valve. We are going to take your advice and try it out.
In my experience the expansion valve rarely if ever goes bad. It's rather the control valve on the variable displacement compressor that stops doing its job and needs a replacement. However, the end result is the same, the evaporator gets starved of refrigerant. In my case the starved evaporator also caused the compressor to become noisier. After fitting the new compressor control valve, it returned quiet.
I don't have this exact problem but when I have my ac on it starts cold in the beginning then it starts losing the cold air. Not completely but it become fair temperature. Freon was added and is full. Compressor is working. I was going to replace the belt. Hopefully that helps. Any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks!

I'd say bad compressor solenoid valve (if the compressor hasn't seized and broke off the shaft). Easy to replace

2005 scion xb mahuel have fron change new pump twice took off dash just like that any ideas
On my xb 2006 is my ac amplifier that is messing up my mechanic wants to charge me 120 to change it
Did that fix your issue ?
now i have the same problem and dont know what to do? help please ?

Where is it located
Any updates
hi did anyone figure out a solution?

still nothing on this problem? just got a used one and can't figure it out

Compressor solenoid?
Having the same type of issue full of freon and blowing all day but not cold air
Did you figure out why?
any body have an idea computer program rest mall cuutel
Was the issue ever fixed for anyone?
Thanks for posting. Did you solve your problem? what was it?
I will attempt to replace my evaporator tomorrow. It helps to get a view under the dash.
This sounds like my problem. The computer gets involved in the cooling proses with some of these newer cars like our 2005 xbs
It could be your ac belt, I just picked one up and mine gives a weak ac but the heat works fine. Id see if that could perhaps solve it
