- We're experiencing true winter at our country home. We've never seen so much snow in the garden before. This is the kind of winter we love. We made sure all our bird feeders are refilled so that we could enjoy the company of our feathered friends. Two weeks later we're back in the city, and while Tommy is working, Peter will take you for a trip to enjoy a sunny winter day.

Thanks for a beautiful winter wonderland. I love you feed the birds.
Thank you. The birds love it too, they come in quite big amounts 😁
Winter wonderland. Beautiful.
Thank you, Graham 😊
We loved your new video! Two handsome men enjoying the beauty of nature brings joy to our lives. Peter, thank you for taking us along on your hike. It's wonderful to see the beauty of your country and we appreciate the history lesson too. We know so little of European history and are always happy to learn more.
Many thanks, guys 😉 Glad you liked being with us in the garden and on the hike as well 😊 It's nice to put a bit of history here and there, so people know more about our country 🙂
So beautiful all of that white land. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Allen, glad you liked it 😊
Excellent video, Peter!!! The garden was lovely, and the visiting dog stole the show. He is so cute, and you were great playing with him. The hike was wonderful, too. I am always amazed at the quality of the footage you shoot when you are alone in the "wilderness" without a camera crew to back you up. Thank you and stay warm!!! ❤❤❤
Thank you very much, we appreciate it. It's amazing what one can film with just a small camera and a tripod. It takes quite some time but at least later it's nice memories 😊
Absolutely LOVE these moments in Nature & miss them so much. Being in a wheelchair. I could Never live in such a Beautiful Mountainous village. Thank You for such a Wonderful Video.. again, the editing was so good !!
Thank you, we appreciate it! We are glad you could at least join in through the video 😊
I always enjoy "inviting" you, Peter and Tommy, into my living room. Thank you for all you do in order to bring us closer to your lives.
Thank you for watching, Roy. Glad you like our videos 😊
i so enjoyed watching you play with the dog! "He doesn't speak English."- Hahaha!!! Such beautiful scenery. Thanks guys!
He likes to play, haha 😁 Thank you 😊
nice winter walk you took us on today.............thanks
Glad you liked it, thanks 😊
Such stunning landscapes! Perfect to photograph and frame for the houses. Thanks for the video ❤❤
Thank you, Greg. We absolutely loved the snow and frost covered trees with the blue sky 😊
Thanks guys. We are experiencing a frigid snowy winter here too. ❤❤
Hopefully you've been enjoying the snowy winter weather too, Andrew 😉😁
You always have such beautiful videos. And I love the history lesson too
Thank you Tom, glad you liked it 😊
Wow, the garden looks magical, great to see a new video as well. Love you guys!
Thank you, Ron. Glad you liked it 😊😉
As usual, delightful: The farm in winter, the little dog who obviously loves you so much, the hiking, etc. Here is wishing both of you health, happiness and all the love your hearts can hold for the new year. Love and respect, always, from Yakima.. :)
Thank you, Will 😊 The dog doesn't love us that much, he just likes to explore and visit neighboring gardens 😁 Greetings to Yakima 😊
Thank you, Peter for the history lesson, the beautiful vistas, you always make me smile as I watch your videos. Too bad Tommy had to work.
Thank you, happy to hear you liked it 😊
Great video. Amazing. It never snows here in our sub-tropical climate of Australia. Its very pretty. Your enthusiasm is infectious.
Thank you 😊 We love snow because it's quite different to the usual weather. Everything looks very different, and when it's sunny the garden sparkles 😊😁
Whoo hoo!!!!!!🎉 another video! Wow, it's simply beautiful!!!! Love the doggy 🐕 that comes to play Wonder why his humans leave him out in the cold and snow😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 Wish you guys could take him home and keep him warm❤
Thank you 😊 It's an outdoor dog and he doesn't seem to mind the cold at all, he's been enjoying the snow 😁 He likes to explore neighboring properties, but his owners take care of him and feed him, he doesn't suffer or anything 😊
That was a lovely gentle video, T&P. Thank you. ❄️❄️❄️
Thank you 😊
Aaah Peter that was amazing your garden was beautiful. but I felt I was on that hike with you . Hi Tommy were you working take care boys keep warm . ❤️❤️😎😎
Hi Anne, thank you. Glad I could take you on my hike while Tommy was working 😁😊
What an awesome vlog! Nice editing job. Starting with the snow at your country home, Peter sledding, playing with the cute dog, feeding the birds, hiking to waiting and boarding the train. Peter, you’re a good storyteller, I enjoyed listening to the history lessons. Even though Tommy had to work, hopefully he had the chance to see your journey. Until next time.
Many thanks! Happy to hear that you liked my rambling and history lessons, and also the trains - I love trains 😁 I showed the video to Tommy right after I had edited it, so he could see my adventure 😊
Thanks for the explanation about the tracking camera, Peter. You anticipated my question. He's alone. How is this happening!!?? 😀
Haha, I knew there would be questions, so I better explained 😁
Yes very much so i enjoyed the video.. Lovely magical snow and a really beautiful countryside walk, i love walking as well and that walked looked amazing.. ❤❤
Yay, we are glad to hear that. Thank you 😊 Walking is great, a healthy movement, and in nature it's always great 😊
Beautiful hike 👍 Thank you!
Thank you Rebecca, happy you liked it 😊
Peter and Tommy thanks for showing us your way enjoy the nature of Tenerife. Houdoe (=dutch for👋) Henk en Henk the Netherlands
Thank you Henk, glad you liked it. Houdoe 😉😁
Beautiful video! There is something so peaceful about snow covered ground and frosted trees! I loved watching the birds at your bird feeders! What kind were they? So pretty! Peter, thank you for taking us along on your hike. Getting out in nature has a way of lifting your spirit (at least for me) and making you feel good and you get the bonus of getting a great workout! Hoping to get out soon. We currently have about 5-7 inches of snow and have had dangerously low temperatures with windchills as low as -35 degrees! More snow is predicted along with blowing snow and bitter windchills so I will only be going out when necessary! Take care! Love and hugs to you and Tommy!
Thank you, Peggy 😊 Winter with snow can be very beautiful and peaceful. The birds are mainly great tits, blue tits and sparrows. The colorful yellowish one with the black head is the great tit 😊 Nice to hear that you also have snow but those temperatures sound very brrrr!! Stay warm 😉

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
looks magnificent, can't wait to see the blooming and flowering of it all (not a fan of winter, as you might guess)
Thank you. We are also looking forward to spring, but luckily there are at least a few beautiful days in winter too 😊❄️
A great video Peter. You are so right, your garden is absolutely beautiful in it's winter dress. I am amazed at all the snow or frost crystals on all the branches. I have never seen that before. We sometimes get a small accumulation of snow on the branches and if it rains then freezes, the branches are encased in crystal clear ice. That is really beautiful when the sun is shining. We actually had the tail end of an arctic blast and some very cold weather hear this week along with a few snow flurries. Temperature was down to 17 degrees F. for a couple of nights and tonight and tomorrow night it will be 26 F. That only happens once in a while and is unusually cold for this part of south Louisiana Am amazed that you can actually use the sled in your backyard and don't have to go looking for a hill. Love to see all the birds at the feeders with all the snow. Also enjoyed you hike. So nice that you are able to do that. Love the dog, he really appears to like the snow. Well, both of you take care and stay warm. Tony
Thank you, Tony! The frost crystals are called soft rime ice or hoar frost in English - there are minor differences in how they develop. You need some moisture in the air and low temperatures for it to appear. It can be really beautiful. We also get freezing rain sometimes, but that is very different and also dangerous for traffic.
So interesting that the arctic air can get so far south in North America. Here there are various mountain ranges in the way, so it's more mellow.
yes here in tennessee we had snow earlier this week too, i was visiting my dad and it was app. 6 in (about 14 cm) but when i drove back home around 60 miles south there was only a trace of snow but my yard did look snowy but it was a layer of ice covering it but it was definitely colder than normal
The cold air can get quite far south in North America because there are no mountains in the way like here in Europe. It's more mellow here when there is artic air coming.
With nurturing all that gardening it seems like having a dog would be a good fit for you guys. Chickens too but then you would have to be there every day. We are short of snow this year in upper central US. Don’t even have that much yet. Should have 16cm at least.
Like you said, we would have to be at the country house almost every day and that is not possible. Also, it would be quite difficult to travel. So, for now no animals... Hopefully you'll get more snow 😉❄️
Sooo glad you are back guys.
And it couldn't be another way with such a spectacle to share with us. Thanks a lot for that.
Is that adorable dog a homeless one? Poor thing. Begging to be petted and perhaps fed.
I know what you are going to answer but you could adopt him.😊
Peter you are always putting my nerves to the test with those heights. 😮 History lesson appreciated.
Beautiful and enjoyable video sweeties. Until next time.
So true lilian, my heart just broke when i saw the doggy in the very cold snow😢😢😢😢.The doggy will be such a lovely addition to tommy and peters household. Just imagine the fun on the hiking trips with the doggy 🐶❤❤❤
@@Tiaandelange-es3ll
Totally agree with you. I felt very sorry for him too. I hope he has an owner. Hugs from Argentina.
Hi Liliana, thank you 😊 Glad you enjoyed the video! I knew you all would like the view down from the lookout tower 😁
Guys, no need to worry about the dog. His owners take care of him, he is not sad or anything. He just likes to explore neighboring properties, so sometimes he comes for a visit. In a while he is gone again. He is not hungry or cold. It's an outdoor dog and enjoys being outside, he seems to like playing in the snow 😊
@@tommyandpeter
Thanks a lot for the update about the dog. Kisses.
Lovely video peter
Thank you, Martine 😊
Hey guys, thanks for sharing and for the time and effort it takes to produce your videos😊 It is much appreciated ❤ I have the same weather as you guys, just not much snow so far, just cold, -21C the other night, but warming in a few days. I loved the sunny trail walk and look-out and of course, Peter’s chocolate bliss “ balls” , I am sure they are delicious😮 I would have to ask Tommy about that😂 …🎉
Thank you, Michael! Tommy confirms that my bliss balls are delicious 😁 Keep warm 😉
Will the starlings attack you when you try to harvest the cherry tree (stealing from their territory)?
That would certainly be interesting, but probably not what would happen 😁 But for now no tests of this, because this year there were no cherries at all - all the blooms were destroyed by late spring frost.
Birds don't need to be fed in winter in Europe actually. They can find food by themselves.
But of course it's nice to see them come and eat seeds from the feeders !
That's probably true everywhere, not just in Europe, otherwise birds would have gone extinct a long time ago :)
But there are always losses, so we try to help them so that more of them survive until spring. Especially when there's a lot of snow because then it's harder for them to find seeds and fruits. Plus, we feel like the environment isn't as diverse as it used to be in the past, a lot of gardens are sterile, so we're trying to balance things out 😊
You guys are true benefactors @@tommyandpeter 😉
Great video! I love seeing the garden in winter and Peter's long hike. What is the details about the automatic tracking camera that Peter is using? It works very well.
Thank you 😊 The camera is DJI Osmo Pocket 3 - there are various options to play with it 😉
Thanks! That gives a great effect and does look like someone is filming you.@@tommyandpeter
Maybe the doggo will help you with the voles problem? :P
Haha, maybe he could but he would certainly destroy some plants in the process too 😁
So nice to spend time with you ❤❤
Glad you liked it, Frank 😉
Well done Peter! a truly surprising video, where nature teaches us about life. A warm greeting also to Tommy from R and D 🐿🐅🐾
Thank you, R and D. Nature is a great teacher 😊
