Finally someone doing muscle growth vids that aren’t 10-20min long and are concentrated to small/isolating movements. Keep it up! You’re channel will be a success
Man I tried the leg press part where you rock back on your heels on the way up to activate the outer quad and it makes a HUGE difference. Great tips thanks 👍🏻
Instead of Netflix and chill, I’m Ryan Humiston and growing! Awesome videos. I been training over 20 years and learn something new from almost everyone of your videos. Thankyou
for so long I struggled with understanding the various stands with a lift. I have bad knees w/several surprises on them. I was always told to "strengthen the quad" but never really show how to until this video. thank you. keep the videos coming
55 years old...worked out for years...now people are asking how I’m getting jacked (and my wife!) 20 reps/insolation/partial reps/Ryan/get my protein(even if it’s shakes)/consistency 🙏 so simple...you’re a genius...thank you
I’m a thin guy. Been hitting leg press and been seeing a huge difference. Tear drop has grown quite a bit now. But I did notice I was lacking on my outter. This was a golden find. Great info. Conveyed the info very well. Thanks, man.
This vid has helped my quads especially rehab my left quad from an ACL tear and loss of muscle mass from over 15 years ago. Thank you for putting these videos together 🤙
Big imbalance on my left leg. It’s creating knee problems. Went to a PT clinic last week and was elated to learn that I don’t need any kind of surgery for a torn ligament and that this was my problem. Of course, now that I need to run out the door and do something about it, I turn to your channel. Always direct, clear, and to the point. Along that line, your more recent videos seem to try to add a lot of humor and stuff. That’s fine. Some of it’s pretty funny and if it’s who you are, then that’s what you should be doing, right? But the thing that brought me to your channel and kept me there was the no nonsense tone of it. There’s so much bullshit out there. I’m frankly sick to death of it. Your tone (obviously in addition to the applied knowledge you bring) is something that is undeniably refreshing. Just food for thought. Thanks so much for all the wisdom you’ve imparted. Between you and one other channel (no names, but it exists on pretty much the opposite side of the spectrum as far as video length goes), I’ve been slowly correcting imbalances and avoiding the kind of injuries I used to incur regularly. I can’t even tell you how thankful I am to you (and that other guy) for this.
Nice one Ryan. Awesome. That’s how you do a training video. Short and sweet. Straight to the point. Too many training videos online which are waaay to long and filled with nonsense.
hi ryan, you the best man, just one thing please, I like to see more long examples of how you do the exercises. different angles so we can really notes the details. thanks man great content, really glad I found you
3 videos in a row with all golden content. Keep it up you are amazing and know exactly what you are talking about. You aren't afraid to recommend against conventional wisdom because you know what works and what doesn't by really knowing your body and connecting with it.
That was great! The first time I found an answer that fast on the internet to a fitness question. "How do I hit my outer quads?" Usually I have to sift through tons of useless information first. I should have memorized more in anatomy class.
I did this workout 2 days ago and the lactic acid burn was incredible. I took BCAA'S pre and post and honestly I can't remember the last time my legs were this sore! Thanks Ryan!
A highly competent trainer with a relaxed fluency in the subject that can only come from years of experience and deep knowledge. The continuous tension is essential, for instance in the split squats makes a huge difference.
Thank you I'm I'm 62 years old trying to grow my legs. My lower sweep won't grow 475 on the Hack squat And still not growing ..so I look forward to trying these. Thank you very much!
2019 , Best year videos from this channel - hope someday we go back to this talking-explanatory method again, Thanks anyway for your time and sharing your experience.
Great video on how to better target vastus lateralis with tweaks to exercises. Definitely going to employ this into my own training. Ecspecially when he talked about holding the dumbbells slightly out in front to better target quads when doing split squats, and pushing thighs together and driving through heels to better target outer quads when doing leg press.
Great video Ryan. I have been working on my VMO for patella reasons/surgery reasons over the last 6 months way too much. This really helped explain how to focus just on the outside quad to balance it out.
Ha !....lift your toes off the sled, never seen that before. Right on man, no matter how many years you always learn something....or forgot and got refreshed 👍
Great channel Ryan clear, concise information and content perfect for being in the gym and not having to scroll along to get to the movements and waste important gym time. Look forward to more of this format. Many thanks. Jim Harrison. Cheshire. UK.
Hit legs today and added a few of these, love the new lifts my friend! Those sissy squats are amazing, one of the best feeling leg lifts I've ever tried. Thank you for the amazing content!!
Love the content brotha. I'm a trainer and LMT and love how you don't strictly follow what science says is right. Super easy to follow content. Keep it up!
Bro you are definitely a comedian🤣 I love your advice because it's effective... if you apply it , it actually works. One suggestion use simpler terms when describing the anatomy. Outer Quad Mid Inner etc.. anyways thanks
Mannnnn these methods work I felt the tightening of my outer quads in the first 20 mins of working out when normally doing squats and leg press it takes bout a hour of working out for my legs to start getn tight and fatigued
For the squat and leg press variations should your feet be together too? I can see his knees are together but how about the feet? Or should the feet stay slightly apart?
Thank you thank you thank youuuu. I knew something was wrong with my workout. 😍 New subscriber. Happy that I found your channel. Short video, useful advise. 💪 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! This is the most informative video I have found this issue. Part of my problem is my heels rolling in and the habit of doing wide stance squats to achieve depth.
I had a go at just these few exercises which I don't usually do. I'm more pre exhaust with leg extensions then some big heavy squats and finish with leg press. But these few exercises made me feel sick and I was done after 4 sets of each. Thank you for the tips👍🏻 keep up the brilliant work.
Appreciate the tips. Been scratching my head lately on why my left outer quad is bigger than my right while my rights medius is larger. I knew I was doing something subconscious but couldn't figure it out
Pre-2020 videos have him like that first date- all sweet, kind, opening doors for you and stuff. End of 2020 vids are three years into the marriage, lol- still opening doors for us but now he slaps our ass as we walk by and makes us like it. Also, have you noted how much more defined his lats and traps are?
I love the info, thank you brother! Just make sure to level out your sound lol. When you're talking, the volume is low, then super loud when the music kicks in.
interesting, but i have observed extending the knee without taking it to the full range of motion to also develop vastus medialis, while focusing only on lateralis can lead to patellofemoral syndrome. you can incorporate a leg extension isolating the last 10-15 degrees of extension in the split so an imbalance doesnt occur
Awesome movements to finally isolate this group. Only downside is my twig and berries are getting absolutely obliterated with the two knee touching movements😂
Anyone else visiting this in 2024 and realizing how much this guy’s confidence and video quality has soared over the years?
Dat sauce.
Juicing sure has made his muscles bigger an his face older..

Have to agree some people really go into the science which is nice but sometimes I just need a quick video

Tremendous content sir. The nuance is valuable and you present it in an easily digestible format.
Thank you! I appreciate that. It’s a work in progress.
@@RyanHumiston this is amazing, I am a runner and wanted to put some more meat on my legs, and it was all going to my Glutes. This worked so well

Finally got my quad sweep! Woo!
Great video for those like me who had total knee replacement surgery. Excellent explanation on how to isolate the outer quad muscle.

Keeping the legs/feet in is invaluable advice! I really appreciate your videos!
I have been doing these for awhile now and my quads have made growth . Thank you ryan !!!
Great vid. For those who haven't done his full gym program, you are missing out.
I thought this was at 1.25 speed atleast, then checked - nope. I love this straight to the point videos, great explanation :D
It’s amazing the transformation you made after beginning TRT.
