- After a very long flight sim break I decided to purchase the PMDG Boeing 737-600 for Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2020 and I would like to share a tutorial for the bird, that also fully applies to the 737-700 and -800 variants (and the -900 when it releases). I know it's quite fast pace and might be more suited to already experienced simmers, but still I hope it can give you some hints and tips. We're doing a full IFR flight with ATC in Air Italy colors from Rome (LIRF) to Milan (LIMC), covering all phases of flight including a cold'n'dark startup and realistic loading procedures by using the built-in ground services, checking out the simBrief flightplan and WX integration, a proper power-down, unloading the plane and much more. I hope you will enjoy and thanks for watching!
Unfortunately I faced some problems regarding the audio capture during recording. I tried fixing it as good as possible, but you might notice some weird sound behavior here and there. Also sorry for occasional drops in video quality caused by the video render software.

I got departures and startup but don’t understand how to get my dec winds and overall approach because when I try and request… nothing happens
Now that the 737 features the EFB (tablet), try requesting your simBrief flight in the EFB and then the FPL/WIND requests should work.
You are by far the best educational RUclipsr for these full flight type video. Straight to the point and clear!
OMG, thank you so much for this! I've gone round and round on trying to develop a checklist to follow from cold & dark to full shut down after a full flight. This is the video I needed. I understand about 90% of everything but could never figure out how to coordinate the correct flow that fits with the coordination the real life of fueling, passengers, cargo, etc. I thank you very much!
I'm glad it helped you, thanks for watching :)
Hello my friend! Welcome back. Your channel is very underrated. Your knowledge and professionalism is very overlooked. Keep up the good work!
Wonderful! Watched start to finish. Thanks!
It's good to see the new content after the long break. I will watch it later today.
@@r.heinrich3364 Das freut mich, vielen Dank :)
@Simulation Channel Deluxe Glad to know you're alive and well. Nice to see that this channel getting more content :)
Another fantastic tutorial video! Thank you! Now I can feel more confident getting the PMDG 737
The TERR function on the EFIS panel is not a radar, like the weather radar. It is a database of all terrain in the world which is displayed on the ND, determined by where the GPS has you located in the world. It doesn't actively scan anything, it's just a software database.
Yes true, just some weeks ago I learned that. Even after 15 years of flight simming, you always learn something new lol ;) Thanks for the thorough explanation though. Cheers
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe I'm enjoying and learning from your videos, thanks for all the work making them, T
this tutorial is good , very detailing and everything , thank you my friend
Great tutorial. This was my first B 737 "600" flight and thank you.
Wow you are a legend my friend you make it simple and easy to learn the PMDG 737 thank you a lot 🧑✈️
Thanks. Another great tutorial. Excellent as always. A great help to new PMDG 737 pilots.
great bro loved it
I'm still confused what liberties the pilot has vs what he must get from ATC. Also, I thought with flight plans loaded in the sim that the radio changes happen automatically. Too much going on to understand the correct workflow of things and I want to practice flying realistically but there's so much to learn and every demo video is different so I do more video watching than flying.
Yes flight simulation is a complex hobby. When I started, there wasn't even RUclips and I had to learn everything myself over many years. But that's also a good thing, it meant more flying and less watching ;) To start with, I wouldn't care about ATC too much, but learning the aircraft, procedures and flying properly first. Regards
Very well explained, thank you.
how do you not get the take off config warning? i follow all the landing procedures in this video APU on and everything, but i still get a "take off config" warning. this happens as soon as I land.
Im flying the 737-900ER btw.
Thank you, excellent video, enjoying your work very much
Hello again, just been working through the video again, and wondered how you came about with the value to reduce the total fuel, in the Fuel page (LSK1L), at 2mins.31secs. Thanks
It's just that you need a fuel value that is lower than the fuel required for the flight, otherwise it's not possible to start the fueling process via the fuel truck.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe I see, thanks for the Info
It wouldn’t let me do “descend now” after I must have passed Tod, what do I do?
How do you get ATC to call out flight levels like the stock game aircraft? Best I can get is flight following and I have to manually follow my FMC plan.
How did you fly IFR I don’t have that option
Lovely stuff 👍🏻
The FMS stuff at the beginning is so complicated. Isn’t this stuff usually done through an EFB in fs2020?
The PMDG 737 doesn't feature an EFB yet, but it's supposed to release at some point. After getting used to it, I don't find the ground handling via FMC too bad.
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe lol I’m just not used to doing this much with the fmc. Usually just implement the flight plan, do weight and performance stuff and that’s it lol
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe I’d also like to add, I absolutely love your tutorial. It’s so in depth and literally covers everything but it isn’t a long tutorial. Thank you so much for this, you’re a legend.
@@owenklein1917 Thanks a lot, I appreciate it :)
This doesn’t work for me, it never loads the full flight plan and I only end up getting 2 legs. No matter what I do. I’m useing the 737-9
Did you update the navdata for MSFS and the PMDG via Navigraph?
How come I can’t request flight plan pls help.
At what feet you disengage the auto pilot? Thank you
That depends. I like to do it around 1000ft above ground. In bad weather you leave the AP on until you can see the runway lights. Cheers
I cant request ifr clearance from the atc,im using pmdg 737-800😢Can u please help me
You have to file the flight on the world map view for ATC to work.
Impeccable
Can you share the checklist you were using?
Sorry but I didn't use a checklist, it's all in my brain ;)
@@SimulationChannelDeluxe …..lol. Im getting there now myself. Some people use the term “OCD” in general, but I actually am OCD and have to work to keep it in check in other aspects of life. With that being said, I have spent the past couple weeks memorizing the processes of the a320. In fact, just yesterday I have began the process of adding the citation longitude to the list.
@@jay-rus4437 Yeah I'm simming since 2007 and by now I know several planes out of my mind ;)
what ground service is this? is it gsx
It comes with the aircraft. No GSX.
Figured it out
Where’s the reverse thrust located? Didn’t show in video
I have it mapped on my joystick. Can be found in the controls options of MSFS.
How did u get atc to work im haveing some issues
For default ATC to work you have to load your flightplan into the default MSFS flight planner before starting the flight. Then it should be working. Best to use the simBrief Downloader for the fpl export.
Hi thanks for the reply I'm on Xbox I use sim brief but still can't seem to find and ifr clearance
@@IrishCloverGaming Sorry but I don't have any experience with MSFS on Xbox...
Make it look easy as :( why can’t I do it it right
Wait nvm
sprich doch einfach deutsch, kind... klingt ja schlimm....
