      It’s still pretty hard to look past the 600; that thing is just amazing value and great fun to fly, but I think the 900 might take the number 2 spot for me. I actually thought the 900 was going to look too long / ungainly haha, but it really looks like a mini 767 to me (for some reason ha). I really rather like it overall. Once in the cockpit, you really could be in any of them though - only the Boeing boys are going to get excited by a slightly modified air conditioning system etc haha XD

      Are there technical differences in the simulation between the - 600 and the other variants?
      Is the simulated depth all the same?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Boradumir,
      So far as the level of simulation depth goes, there is absolutely no difference between each member of the PMDG 737 family (of course, there will be some systems and flight modelling differences, based on the specifics of each real-world airframe). The pricing difference is pretty much solely based on the perceived popularity of each airframe; some models do come with more variants but again, this is largely based on the real-world utility of each type (not all types had a BBJ variant, for example).
      I hope that helps to clarify things? All the best : )

      Haha, good question Scars!
      It’s still hard to look past the 600, firstly for its pricing, but also for its stubby little aesthetic haha and its capabilities. If I was going on looks, I’d go 700 / 600 / 900 / 800 I think, going on interest factor I think I’d go 600 / 900 / 800 / 700. I know the majority of people prefer the 800, but it’s so common as to be a little less interesting to me. If I could choose just one, I do think I’d go with the 600 (unless one is into recreating real-world flights, in which case the 800 is the obvious choice).
      Anyway, that was a lot more rambling than I was expecting haha. Cheers for the kind words, I shall do my best! : )

    Great video with a really nice plane.
    Quick Question: Is there any way to see your graphic settings in sim and maybe in the Nvidia Panel? Im running on pretty much the same setup with a 2080 Super and the 5800X3D (same MB and RAM) and i get a really choppy performance compared to you. Guessing you are running on 1080p, right?
    Best regards.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +2

      Thanks very much Jansen, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
      My settings are broadly as follows:
      - “High End” preset
      - Pre-Cache = Ultra
      - Terrain and Object visibility sliders set at 125% (sorry, I forget the actual names of them)
      - Motion Blur = Off
      - Glass Cockpit Refresh = Medium
      - AI Live Traffic = Off
      - VSync = On / 60fps
      That gives a nice balance between graphics and performance. I only run at 1080p though as you correctly guessed, hence the decent fps. The things I’ve turned off / down are known to be famerate hogs.
      Nothing flashy really. I do spend quite a bit of time tweaking lighting and weather in many of my videos though (both can make a huge difference in the sim).
      As far as Nvidia goes, nothing special there really either. Everything is default except; "Power Management = Prefer Maximum Performance).
      I hope that helps a little. Cheers and all the best! : )

    Born & raised in Seattle, I live in the Renton Highlands. All narrow-body Boeings since 1954, would leave Renton for flight tests conducted in Eastern Washington, near Moses Lake. Upon completion of that phase, the aircraft would return to Boeing Field, in Tukwila, just over the hill (Skyway and Beacon Hill). Final preparations are made on the apron along East Marginal Way, where the Delivery Center is located.
    Aircraft are not delivered out of Renton.

      I may make such a video at some point but for what it’s worth, my settings are broadly as follows:
      - “High End” preset
      - Pre-Cache = Ultra
      - Terrain and Object visibility sliders set at 125% (sorry, I forget the actual names of them)
      - Motion Blur = Off

    I have to say that I’m disappointed with PMDG regarding their pricing structure. The 73-700 and 800 had a somewhat acceptable price, however, if you’ve purchased either the 700 or the 800, or wanted to add the 800 after purchasing the 700, you’ll pay full price, no discount, no exception! Now if you want to add the 900, yes you’ll pay full price. Whilst it can be argued that these have different flight models, the graphics are very similar. Plus, there hasn’t been the software time spent because they already have the majority of what’s needed from the other derivatives. So, if you are mad enough to have purchased the 600, 700, 800, and now the 900, you would have paid over £200 not good.

    • @TheWikiGuy
      @TheWikiGuy Год назад +2

      I think its shrewd, selling the 700 at full price knowing it would be popular as the first pmdg airliner in the sim, the 600 much reduced being the least popular but allowing for a gateway appeal to new buyers. The 800 always be expensive as the most popular model - easiest sell, and the 900 to mop up those (like myself) who didn't wanna pay the 800's price for another 737 - but wanted a bigger one after getting the 7/6. I don't feel any of the prices are unfair individually, but yeah it would have been nice for them to discount owners of other models, maybe 10% off for each extra plane.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +1

      Hi cptK737,
      Your point certainly has some validity to it and there have been a lot of mixed views on the PMDG pricing structure. PMDG have obviously done what makes sense for them from a business point of view and who can blame them for that I suppose. In isolation, each aircraft offers pretty good value for money (especially the 600 and the 900) and of course one is not obliged to buy the whole fleet; but if purchasing the entire family, the costs add up without a doubt. It is worth mentioning, the in-sim Marketplace doesn’t allow for any sort of discount when having purchased a previous product and so this is why (in part at least) PMDG have opted to go for a different pricing model on this occasion. What we have is probably not a perfect solution, but I also feel that PMDG have been reasonably “fair”, offering up a 737 variant that pretty much meets everyone’s budget (the 600).
      That’s my two pennies worth at any rate haha. Cheers and all the best : )

      Hi David,
      I was very much on the fence, as to whether or not to pick up the 900 myself (before PMDG were kind enough to get in touch). I wondered whether the 900 might be too long / a little ungainly and I thought it was a pretty uncommon airframe (seems there’s quite a few more of them than I first realised). I actually ended up really liking the 900 and in isolation, $50 is a fair price (especially with the ER option also). After the 600 (which is a bargain), I think the 900 might actually be the next member of the fleet that I enjoy the most. Certainly worthy of consideration at any rate : )

FS Realistic does offer up a somewhat similar functionality (ruclips.net/video/6k7ZA-AGA7M/видео.html), though it could certainly still use some improvement. So much attention has been paid to the graphic quality. Why are the wipers at 15:45 completely useless?
    In the truck simulators ETS2 and ATS you can clearly see that the rain is wiped away by the windshield wipers.

    Only when the plane gains momentum does the water disappear.

      In fairness, wiper animations are not natively supported in the sim, but that’s no longer really an excuse, since a number of other devs have found workarounds. As you allude to, wiper animations are hardly anything new (and have been done much more convincingly in significantly older titles) - hopefully Asobo will address the issue at some point and it would be nice if PMDG could offer up their own solution in the meantime.

      Hello Aetis,
      Personally, I use the TrackClip Pro. TrackIR requires some sort of head clip regardless, but you can either use the HatTrack clip, or the TrackClip Pro. The HatTrack clip is cheaper and requires no additional wiring / USB ports however, the TrackClip Pro allows for slightly more range / accuracy and is easier to clip to a headset (it is quite fragile though).

      Hello again Aetis,
      No, the monitor-mounted part, is the TrackIR unit itself and that is required regardless. The TrackClip Pro / HatTrack clip, is the source that TrackIR is looking at to gauge your head movement (TrackIR is somewhat older technology now and uses IR tracking, as opposed to actually monitoring the users head).
      I hope that makes sense? Cheers!

      Hi Suwi,
      I can’t specifically answer re the Xbox (not owning one myself) but:
      It’s still hard to look past the 600, primarily because of its pricing (it’s significantly cheaper than the rest of PMDG’s 737 family). I think, going on interest factor, I’d go 600 / 900 / 800 / 700. I know the majority of people prefer the 800 and that is your best bet if you want to recreate real-world operations.

      Hi Mikey,
      Well in fairness, I don’t actually know whether United would realistically fly a new airframe direct to Denver, but it seems quite plausible, given that it’s one of the carrier’s bigger hubs. Renton is the home of 737 production, so chances are an airline is going to pick up the airframe from there and take it to one of their hubs. I’m sure Flight Radar et al would show any real-world delivery flights taking place.

    Why is the 900 cheaper than the 800 and the 700?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      Hi WC,
      There’s no quantifiable reason really. PMDG have basically priced each aircraft based on their perception of its desirability. The 600 is the cheapest of the bunch, as it’s unlikely many people would have been interested in purchasing it otherwise (and it also therefore offers a superb “gateway” to PMDG products) and the 900 is somewhat cheaper for the same reason. Otherwise though, the products are all identical in terms of function / quality etc.

      Hi 737 Pilot,
      All of PMDG’s 737’s are the same in terms of functionality; I think PMDG has priced each aircraft based on desirability (with most customers wanting the 800). Not an ideal pricing model for some and it does mean that purchasing the entire family is quite expensive but, on the flip side, the 600 and to some degree the 900, are superb value.

    The PMDG 737s certainly look fantastic and the systems work well. That's about the extent of my compliments. It's not PMDGs fault that they don't feature a replay mode, they are not a MFS aircraft. But they need to get one! Replaying your landings is one of the best features of the Zibo 737 for XP12.
    Then, again not the fault of PMDG, we have the awful MFS flight model that PMDG has to sit atop. How would I describe it? Totally clunky. Badly so. At first, with about 15000 hours in the 737 models, I considered it unflyable with the auto pilot off. Very jerky, primitive control response. With practice I have become able to get it in the air and back on the ground, but the handling is far from smooth or dynamic. With the fine example of XP12 and Zibo, it's just hard to understand why MFS can't do better than this. I will keep flying it, hoping for improvements. But at the moment, apart from the beautiful MFS graphics and the nice look and systems from PMDG, this one is a distant second to Zibo, and has little of the flying characteristics of a real Boeing.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      Hello again Paul,
      I haven’t actually had the chance to try the Zibo in X-Plane 12, but certainly X-Plane 11 (which I have a lot more time in) surpasses MSFS when it comes to flight modelling (with most aircraft types anyway). The first time I jumped back into X-Plane, after a long stint with MSFS, I disconnected the Zibo’s autopilot and had a “whoa, this is drastically better” moment. As you say though, no fault of PMDG’s and personally I find it hard to go back to X-Plane graphics etc to be honest. The other day, I heard someone hypothesising about a mod to overlay X-Plane’s flight modelling into MSFS; probably a pipe dream, but wouldn’t that be great!
      One “strength” of MSFS, is that the team are still constantly updating and tweaking, including elements of the sim’s flight model / SDK. The flight modelling has improved significantly since release (believe it or not haha), so hopefully one day the sim will get to a point you’re more satisfied with.
      Thanks again for your feedback! All the best : )
