By far my favorite Megaman game and one of my favorite games of all time. I have fond memories of trying to hold down right on the d-pad on controller two with my toe to get the super jump / invincibility cheat to work. My toe would be so sore with an indent in it forever after playing haha. I was the youngest so I didn’t have anyone to convince to hold it down for me and couldn’t put a weight on it because there were parts you couldn’t pass if you were using the super jump ALL the time. Good memories for sure.

Mega Man 3 is where Mega Man fights eight new Robot Masters that Doctor Light and Doctor Wily created when these robots went haywire for some reason (Magnetic Man, Gemini Man, Snake Man, Needle Man, Spark Man, Hard Man, Top Man, and Shadow Man, numbered 17-24 because there are 16 others before them in the first game). It’s where Mega Man has Rush, the sliding function, and met his older brother named Proto Man, who is his prototype and numbered 0. I believe that after MM3’s Robot Masters were created, Wily put mind-control devices on them that caused them to go haywire. As for Shadow Man, it is rumored that he is an alien because of never-seen-before materials that made him up. However, he doesn’t act alien, so here’s my theory: He is probably an experiment made by scientists in Japan with rare metals on Earth (like how Bassnium happened). No one else knew who Shadow Man is. He tried to break a mountain, but he caused an avalanche that knocked him down. Wily found this RM before Wily mind-controlled the eight RMs. After Mega Man defeated all eight of these RMs, he freed them from Wily’s mind-control, and then Doctor Light adopted these new RMs as his new sons. They are doing jobs (I can say the same to the RMs from the first two games). Boy, I want a remake that has the same graphics and bonus stuff as Mega Man 11. And/or, a 3-D action-adventure remake/version that does all this, and the 3-D part would be like Kirby and the Forgotten Land in 2022 rather than Mega Man X7 (that game was weird).🙏 Hard Man is my favorite in MM3.
This was the pinnacle of the classic Mega Man series in my opinion and also my personal favorite. It was perfect. Great soundtrack, challenging difficulty, great bosses, even a few surprises up its sleeve. Not only do you get interrupted with a fight with a mysterious robot that’s similar to you throughout a few of the robot master stages, but also, just when you thought you were finished with all 8 robot masters, you get blindsided and realize you gotta go back and revisit 4 stages and beat all 8 robot masters from the previous game! It was a perfect game, had a great storyline, and an open ended ending that left you wanting more. I can only imagine how much better it would’ve been if the developers were given more time to fully realize their vision with this game. But honestly, I was extremely happy with what we got and I think it’s the best of the series.
