hey quick question, did you record this from an original hardware and that stuff? I am asking since something I didn't notice is the megabuster blast charge, when it is released the sound is like just normal bullet sound, so I am having a doubt if that (kind of a bug) is caused by some kind of emulation error or it was injected in the original hardware. I have to say that 6 is probably my favorite of the classic NES games simply because I love the jet and power adaptors. They are very innovative and are super fun to use in conjunction with the other weapons.

3's still my favorite. i dont care for 6, as im pretty sure ive taken all the bosses in the wrong order, or else the whole dynamic of weakness to another boss weapon has been done away with. every single one of these things has been beaten with mega buster so far, except the one i beat with rush armor

Agreed, the ideas of expanding on Rush in different ways with the Jet and Power Adapters was a great touch on top of the ways to use weapons to work with the environment, like Flame Blast to melt some ice in Blizzard Man's level, etc.

This is how I love to see Armor implemented in Mega Man/Mega Man X. Don't make them overpowered, but make them simple, fun, and useful.

By that time, most program developers were already familiar with the NES hardware, and they were able to fully utilize the console's capabilities.
I remember when I got this game, christmas of 1997. I had no idea what I was looking at but I just new that on the back cover seeing my first wily base I knew I had to get there somehow which began my long storied history with the blue bomber. Ahh sweet memories

You should listen to the soundtracks of MegaMan 1, 2 and 3. None of the tracks from MegaMan 4 and onward come even close in quality to those of the first three series.

At 51:58, when Mega Man defeats Mr. X, I'm sure for Wily, the one reason he exposed himself is because he wanted this to be _HIS_ victory in the end, plus he had everyone so fooled, it's why Mega Man reacted like he did when he revealed he was Mr. X.
My personal favorite of the series, because I wasn’t able to get an SNES but this game made me feel like developers hadn’t forgotten about me, and it was endlessly fun to play, especially due to the innovative uses of Rush 😊
Megaman 6 Robot Masters weakness explained:
Flame Man with Wind Storm - Strong winds will blow the fire out like blowing a birthday candle.
Blizzard Man with Fire Blast - Fire melts ice, obviously.
Plant Man with Blizzard Attack - Cold temperatures like winter will freeze all the plants and die.
Tomahawk Man with Plant Barrier - Tomahawk Man himself loves waging war with other tribes and flowers symbolizes peace, which he hates. Some species of plants are poisonous, like poison ivy, which can bring sickness to strong people like Tomahawk Man.
Yamato Man with Silver Tomahawk - Axes can snap the spear's handle into two like splitting a tree log in real life. This is also why in the Fire Emblem series, axes have weapon type advantages against axes.
Knight Man with Yamato Spear - The spearheads can pierce through extremely tough armor, including shields. Likewise, The spearheads fly faster since Knight Man is very slow due to his heavy armor.
Centaur Man with Knight Crush - Some weapons, like a a mace are good enough to knock the cavalry rider off the horse by injuring the horse. Since Centaur Man has a part of a humanoid robot with a body of a horse, he can get hurt with a mace by smashing through his lower body even when he uses Centaur Flash.
Wind Man with Centaur Flash - Centaur Flash itself is a flash bang and it can stun Wind Man's turbines on his shoulders.

@@supahcomix tbf 3's immunities make more sense than the weaknesses. I mean, Hard Man would realistically be immune to Needle Man's weapon.

the best soundtrack & background music among other megaman games... really love the feeling in every chapter expecially the final chapter background music...
My biggest gripe with this game is the way Megaman controls. For example; you can't jump anytime you do a slide, you have to wait till the slide is finished, which means no slide jumping. If it wasn't for that, this would definitely be my second favorite 8bit Megaman game, or maybe even number 1.
YES!!! My favorite NES Mega Man game!! But not my favorite Mega Man game overall, that honor belongs to an even tie between *Mega Man 10* and *Mega Man X4!* But 6 is fun. I love the music, settings, Robot Masters, and of course the mysterious *Mr. X!* I wonder who Mr. X could be?!!??? GASP! *Dr. Wily!??* Mind blown!! How could Wily be behind this the whole time!??!!!?! Looks like Wily's evil plan has *faild* yet again!!! XD

Due to the declining support of the NES and the growing presence of the newer and more powerful Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), Capcom decided not to publish Mega Man 6 in North America. The North American version of Mega Man 6 was released by Nintendo of America instead. Capcom republished the game several months later. branding for Capcom. Very few copies of this have surfaced, as Nintendo was the distributor for Mega Man 6 in North America.

The way you suddenly start to ignore E-Tanks is gonna give me a heart attack. It was the most thorough walkthrough of MM6, you were collecting all 1-ups and E-Tanks. Then all of a sudden you quit collecting them for no reason.

@@NintendoComplete which is messed up... why have a provision for extra e-tanks and 1ups (like the tens digit), but you can only really have 0-9 🤦🏻♂️
MM6 is better than the previous sequel. MM5 just felt bland on all fronts, the only new feature was Beat. The music in 5 was also a letdown, except for NapalmMan and ProtoMan's Castle theme.

The graphics for both MegaMan 2 and 6 easily recognized as late PS1 titles. Fantastic!
This was a really fun playthrough to watch! You're a skilled player, but not perfect (I appreciated the spike death towards the end) and this made it more fun to watch, more so than a typical speedrun. Thanks!!!

Mega Man 6 was almost Japan only. Capcom decided not to localize the game to the West, but thankfully Nintendo stepped and brought it to North America. Mega Man 6 was first released in Europe in 2013 via Virtual Console.

And this was the last Megaman game to be made for the NES. But at least the 8-Bit Megaman games ended with a bang with this game.

MM6 is a good game but some parts just make it feel like Capcom phoned this one in, especially with some recycled bosses. I mean Wind Man is just Air Man, Flame Man is just Heat Man, and Plant Man is essentially Wood Man. Plus the storyline is paper thin; who DIDN'T see that Mr. X is just Dr. Wily in a flimsy disguise.
Capcom started recycling bosses beginning with Mega Man 2 because Heat Man is Fire Man from the first Mega Man game.
I hope you don't mean they recycled the boss *fights*
They only recycled boss themes not the fight and megaman 2 to six the bosses were designed in a contest not by capcom

I have to wonder what was going through Wily’s mind when he came up with this. If he was trying to fool people into thinking someone else was manipulating him from the beginning, why did he go with a disguise that looks just like him? For that matter, why did he reveal himself before the final fortress?
I always felt every Mega Man Classic game was good in its own way: 1 was the pause glitch, 2 was the Robot Masters and the music, 3 was the worlds, music, and Proto Man, 4 had the "complete" Mega Man and cool castles, 5 had the bosses, 6 had the enhancements and the fact some non-Japanese fans played a role in the designs (something I wish Deviantart had a contest or something about that), 7 (my favorite) had an excellent soundtrack, 8 had an interesting approach, 9 (my least favorite) had cool Robot Masters (even though it was more difficult than usual), 10 had more characters to play, and 11 had a somewhat interesting gimmick.

lol the good thing amount Mega Man 1 was the "pause glitch" hahaha come on, how about its quick replayability with 6 robot masters and its magnet beam platform gun? At least each game its soundtrack going for it.
It's cool that the robot masters have stats now like height/weight etc.
If this had come out BEFORE Mega Man X, I would have had way more interest. As it was, I almost never touched my NES at this point. I didn't actually even play this until I got the MM collection for the GameCube about 10 years ago or so. It's a damn good game, but it just got made at a bad time.
It did come out before X (in Japan); both games were developed simultaneously. It released after X un U.S because Nintendo picked up the publishing rights after Capcom refused to release it l.

It aged better than at the time and was a good classic swan song.
This game gets quite hard towards the very end.....a LOT harder than the rest of the game
It's fascinating that Capcom didn't want to release this over here at first so Nintendo struck a deal to publish it themselves. That's why the box looks so different.

I still hold this game as one of the weaker entries in the classic Megaman anthology. Maybe I think this because it was at the end of the NES lifecycle, and I was ready to move on. The armor stuff just felt out of place for the classic Blue Bomber but right at home for the X series.
I beat Mega man 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and Bass 5 and 6 are my favorite
I actually think this is an extremely underrated game. Really, it's only the lazy story and silly Robot Masters that let it down.
I love the robot masters in this game, my favourite is Yamato Man.

In one of your old videos, I said that they needed to understand that they needed to play as if the other team is just as hungry as they are (even used the 2011 Mavericks as an example). Once again (and I'm actually starting to feel bad), the blame is going on Dak when the Dak Attack video pointed out that the defense in losses is giving up about 33 points per game. Dak owned up to his play but those 3 drops by CeeDee didn't help either. It's reported that Mike is coming back and it solidify my belief about Jerry:
Jerry ONLY wants to win if he's the REASON that they win (hence why he won't get a coach that the players fear). Mike McCarthy reminds me of the Wade Wilson years where we were good but not great. I find myself being a Dak defending person, but you can't give up 35 to 40 points and expect your qb to carry the load with lackluster qb play (when he said here we go during the game, pay attention to the inflection in his voice. I knew he wasn't feeling it. I'm not saying he choked, but those really 3 drops by CD and Brandon Cooks not fighting for that ball that cause the int ruined his confidence).
At least the game got one of the best stage songs in the series. Flameman's stage.
When it comes to megaman games I probably rank them 3 > 4 > 2 > 7 > 6 > 8 > 5 > 1
Will probably grab legacy collections on steam sale so I get trough playing 9 & 10.

This doesn't ruin the game by any amount but making tomahawk man vulnerable to plant mans power and wind man vulnerable to lightning is an odd design choice.
Regardless, i certainly enjoyed the video. Plus, the music is amazing.

Mega Man 6 is where Mega Man fights “Mr. X” and eight new Robot Masters that companies created and he stole and mind-controlled (Blizzard Man, Wind Man, Flame Man, Plant Man, Tomahawk Man, Yamato Man, Knight Man, and Centaur Man, numbered 41-48 because there are 40 others before them in the first five games). It’s where Mega Man got the Power and Jet Adaptors. I believe after Mega Man defeated all eight of these RMs, he freed them from Wily’s mind-control, and then Doctor Light adopted these new RMs as his new sons. They are doing jobs (I can say the same to the RMs from the first five games). Boy, I want a remake that has the same graphics and bonus stuff as Mega Man 11. And/or, a 3-D action-adventure remake/version that does all this, and the 3-D part would be like Kirby and the Forgotten Land in 2022 rather than Mega Man X7 (that game was weird).🙏 Knight Man is my favorite in MM6.
Interesting that Nintendo themselves prevented MM6 from being Japan only. Wonder why they decided to do it with MM6 though. Its not like Nintendo normally goes around publishing other third party companie's games for them.

I know you can only come up with so many ideas. But man these robots are just knock offs of Mega Man 1-3. Plant Man alone is just Wood Man from part 3. Even has the exact same power. I grew up with the original 3 Mega Man games. To me they were the best ones.

I never really played Mega Man 6 until the VC on Wii U. And really I only planned to get 2 and 3 - my faves as a kid. But my five-year-old son was watching me play Mega Man 2 one day and he asked if there were any more than what I had and could I buy them and play them for him.
Holy cow he really got into it! He learned - just by watching me - what order to go to the robot masters, and what weapons did what damage to them. But I grew to hate Mega Man 4. I thought most of the music was awful, and the remix of the Mega Man 2 ending theme was just insulting and gross. Between 5 and 6 I think I prefer 6 more. The armor upgrade with Rush I thought was innovative, and I liked the extra challenge of finding the alternate paths - not only in the Robot Master stages but in the Wily stages as well.
Of the three latter games, I think I like the music in 5 the best. It's got some really memorable tunes, but really none of them reaches the heights of 2 or 3, imo. I enjoy this game, and would definitely rather play it over 4.

Never played or seen this until now. I came in at Mm2 , these weapons and bosses honestly seems like they were running out of ideas, I never agreed with how many games there was in the series but still a devout fan. The merging with rush to have jetman power is cool though
