Im still mad Capcom didnt make MM9, 10 and hell even 11 with this artstyle, IMO MM8 artstyle was perfect for the classic series
Hell no should have been 7s art style and minimizing mega man’s sprite and than it would have been perfect!

Capcom went the LAZY route and used "nostalgia" as an excuse. And the masses bought into it.

@@wheatleythebrick2276 It looks for back in 1980s and early 90s. But I prefer 9 & 10 to have visual and audio more befitting of the console generation from when they were released. Pandering to "nostalgia" can only go so far because we see that it's pure LAZINESS.

I remember how difficult this game was as a kid. Some sections I still struggled with. This game brings so many memories. It was such an eye candy, sound effects were incredible. Truly a game ahead of its time. Thank you for sharing this 😊

The japanese voice acting is also much better than that weak american localization. This is the ideal way to play this game.

Rockman 8 Japanese Voice with English Subtitle
This is my best Mega man game followed by 11 in the series....I play this game at least once a year since it always gives me the pep I need if i feel burnt out from work and adulting.
I grew up with Megaman and love the series up to MM7 and I remember being so disappointed when I got it for my 9th birthday. The graphics, sound, and gameplay just weren’t up to snuff. Even the story was weird. To this day its my least favorite MM game. The cutscenes were cool though

You really didn't knew Homing Sniper is Astro Man's weakness? If you use it in the battle, Astro Man has literally no chance, to move, nor evade, nor attack!
He should be know but decided to not stunlock the boss for challenging part (he also don't have the weakness weapon yet). This is also not speedrun video, which he doesn't use exploits to make battles/stage faster by intentionally taking damage or death...

Is this a remastered of some sort? I don't recall those mini-bosses having lifebars shown and the japanese dub are english subbed now? Either way, it's a nice remastering! Great run as well.
Despite the mediocre critical reviews upon release, you can still tell that a lot of love she's effort was put in to create the 8th iteration, with drastic visual and audio improvements compared to its predecessor. Capcom didn't trying to use "nostalgia" as an excuse for being lazy.

How exactly did you get the Japanese voices with the English text? Is this the Legacy Collection version, or some sort of ROM/ISO hack?
EDIT: I'm guessing "ROM/ISO hack", because the minibosses (especially the one from Tengu Man's stage) not only have Life Gauges they're normally not supposed to have, but the icon used is the same as for minibosses in Mega Man X4.

#1 THE CUTSCENES were TERRIBLE.
They should have gotten voice actors from the Mega Man show - or even done it in just pure Japanese.
#2 Mega Man 8 was marginally more memorable than Mega Man 7, but out of the 10 games of the Legacy collection, 1, 2, 9 and 10 were the absolute best.
I personally felt the music in Mega Man 7 and 8 were nowhere near as good as classic Mega Man games, especially 1 - 4.
But when it comes to gameplay, I really think 7 and 8 were much too easy.
Man there's just something about the music in this game.

The BGM on this gem is top notch! Kinda sad that lot of Japanese openings and endings are changed when it was localized.
Always enjoyed the Brand new Way end credits theme song. That also includes the Electrical Communication song too even though it’s Japanese. Have you ever played the 8 bit version of MM8? You should try to do that in the mere future.

Also of note, this is the PS1 version as one of the bolts in Sword Man's stage is in Search Man's stage in the Saturn version.

I believe he is using save states to make the run easier, i highly doubt he is doing this in a normal run specially since he is playing on emulator xD

It's the PS1 version with Lua scripts to display the bars, the bolt counter was added later and the cinematics were scaled witha progam called gigapixel

I remember renting this when I was younger when I first got my PS, it got me into the Mega Man series. The soundtrack is so damn good, that's what kept me playing.
I did not expect to see rock man 8 again, but I hope to see more of a rock man 2 without damage but thanks for the video
The Saturn version has two extra bolts.
Generally I don't watch play throughs of games but there is something oddly soothing about watching a FLAWLESS play through of Mega Man. Add to that that Mega Man 8 is pretty entertaining with the anime cut scenes and really great music. It's easily my favorite of the entire franchise.

I've only seen it referenced once before, and only for the Sega Saturn version, but apparently you can fight Woodman from mm2 in this game in Searchman's stage. But I've never seen it in any other iterations...
