Americans are always very positive which can also be their downfall in many ways, as I’ve seen many a devastated American child when it comes to being disappointed. Whereas, Brits prepare themselves for disappointment so that when the inevitable happens they can say, “I knew it!” and move on quickly. Although, moving on quickly from football sometimes takes a little longer as many tears can be shed over an England loss 😭😜

Loved this video and I watched it to the end. Shelby is clearly a real Premier League fan, and gets the spirit of following a team - repeated successes are boring and don't form character or prove devotion. At one company where I worked years ago, we hosted some visitors from China, and over lunch my manager (Leicester fan) made conversation by asking which team they supported. "Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal" was the first response of one visitor. Not...quite...heartfelt devotion to a team. Congratulations on pronouncing 'Leicester' correctly (it was indeed astonishing that they won the EPL - and Emma Raducanu is indeed great too). "Bournemouth has an amazing beach" - high praise indeed from a Floridian! You should ask their Tourism Board to sponsor you! Next sport quiz video - cricket, please. Lots of funny jargon in that sport.
The Apple TV series Ted Lasso filmed its stadium scenes at Selhurst Park. The club's nickname became "The Eagles", inspired by Portuguese club Benfica, and the badge adopted an eagle holding a ball. Due to their location in the capital, Crystal Palace are involved in a number of local derbies, mostly across South London. They enjoy rivalries with both Millwall and former tenants Charlton Athletic. The club have a long-standing and fierce rivalry with Brighton & Hove Albion which developed after Palace's relegation to the Third Division in 1974, reaching its height when the two teams were drawn together in the first round of the 1976-77 FA Cup. The tie went to two replays, but the second replay ended in controversy after referee Ron Challis ordered a successful Brighton penalty to be retaken because of Palace player encroachment. The retake was saved, Palace won the tie 1-0 and a fierce rivalry was born.
Great video, seems like you had a great time filming. I’m a big football fan and follow my home team Hull City, even though I now live in Plymouth.😮. Keep up with the laughs.😂
Thanks for your sympathy for my team Fulham. When asked what football team you support and I reply Fulham most people say 'Oh I'm sorry for your pain'. We have over the years had many US players including Clint Dempsey and Brain McBride and they remain favourites with the fans. But as football fans we tend to think we will lose every game. But then if we win one game we think we will win the league and then when we lose we tend to want to sack the manager and the players. As for the quiz. The fact you eventually found out what the answers were was impressive enough. I still look on my phone as some evil magic out to trick me.
Man City won the Carabao Cup in 2021 - they beat Spurs in the final. Wolves are in the Premier League. Bournemouth are not currently in the EPL. The answers to this question are all impossible as in each combination one or more of the teams given are no longer in the EPL.

Immediate thumbs up for Shelby's t-shirt, so refreshing to see an American not blindly supporting one of the big 6 and having her own reasons for supporting who she does. I have to support Palace as they're my local club, its great seeing someone who began watching them to take the piss out of their colleague and got caught up by accident ... and I was at that game against Liverpool - it got very noisy in those last 10 minutes (and it was already loud for the previous 80).
I grew up (in Liverpool) with a family full of Liverpool fans. As a young girl I didn’t care too much about football but would always say they were the team I supported. I’ve been with my partner 8 years now. He’s an Everton fan, his whole family is and now our kids are. Over the years watching Everton I’ve came to support them massively! Now somebody in America would think I’m mad, as Liverpool are the title winners. But I quite like supporting the underdogs. I’m still happy for Liverpool when they do well, but really I watch in the hopes Everton will one day do well too.

Well ladies, Wolverhampton Wanderers are famously known as Wolves. It's my home town & yes it's a bit rough around the edges so I don't blame you for not wanting to return there 🤣 Meanwhile Liverpool are my team & they won the league with a record 7 games remaining.
I thought that before covid Liverpool's form was fantastic, but for the few games after Covid they're form really dipped and they won with three to go. This is from a fellow Reds fan. As a matter of interest do you think that if Covid had come in three days earlier and we'd played Athletico Madrid after the Covid break we would have gone onto win the champions league (bearing in mind Allison didn't play in the return leg because of injury).

You both did a good job there ladies. I have fallen for those online quizzes myself. Thought I had done a good job but finding out that I didn’t score as many points as I thought
The club's highest ever league finish so far is third place in the old Football League First Division, which is now called the Premier League, achieved in the 1990-91 season. Palace hold the record for the most points for a relegated Premier League club with 49 (although that was in a 42-game season in 1992-93).[113] They are also the only club ever to be relegated from the Premier League even though they finished fourth from bottom, as it had been decided that at the end of the 1994-95 season, the bottom four clubs would be relegated in order to accommodate the league being reduced from 22 to 20 clubs for the 1995-96 season; Palace's points total that season of 45 is also the second-highest points total in Premier League history for a relegated club.[113] Palace hold the record for the most Play-off final wins (4) resulting in promotion to the top flight. Each of these play-off final wins occurred at a different location: Selhurst Park in 1989 (the first leg of the two-legged final was played at Ewood Park in Blackburn), old Wembley Stadium in 1997, Millennium Stadium in Cardiff in 2004, and new Wembley in 2013.
Steve Bruce Ex Man U Captain was appointed manager for the 2001-02 season.[33] A good start to the season gave Palace hope for a promotion challenge, but Bruce attempted to walk out on the club after just four months at the helm to take charge of Birmingham City.[34][35] After a short spell on 'gardening leave',[36] Bruce was eventually allowed to join Birmingham,[37] succeeded by Trevor Francis, the 1st £1Million player, who had ironically been his predecessor at the Midlands club.[38]
Kaylin your correct about not going to Wolverhampton lol! You girls have summed up USA and UK entirely as people. The USA are the glass is half full kind of people the UK is the glass is half empty kind of people we are expecting the bad first if it doesn't happen then we are pleasantly surprised! Which is better than expecting the good and being disappointed! But one question I do have is that the USA has the NFL World Cup and the Baseball World Cup but no other nation plays those sports so how exactly are these Cups called World Cups? For your friend and any other Americans watching Norwich has a silent W so it's pronounced Norrrich
I Was at Selhurst Park when they beat Man U 5 nil, but we did beat you in two Cup Finals since. Supported United since 1967. George Best was a brilliant player/playboy known as the fifth Beatle during his time as an Icon. Ronaldo and Cantona are quite good also. B4 Rooney, the England and Man U top scorer was Sir Bobby Charlton.
Made me lol when Shelby said thx to Brighton as a palace fan that's a no no !!!!.... even though the seaside part is nice ...the team is not ...eagles over seagulls !! Check out the history!!....me & you both Shelby PALACE TILL I DIE !!!
Have you ever considered running a pub quiz night ???? I predict a riot. The Texan done well, that was a difficult quiz. Bournemouth is an ok beach, but where are all the pebbles all they have is some fine grit like stuff!
Just noticed that Shelby has some dirt on her shirt...in the shape of an eagle. To get that stain out, I recommend gently scrubbing with some washing-up liquid, then throwing that shirt into a fire and replacing it with a Brighton shirt.
To be fair, we did think it was 'coming home' until, during the final, it didn't. :) Then we all drank what was left of our pints, went home and had our teas :) Until next time.. Of course if we'd won, you wouldn't be hearing the end of it for 30 years. Also the comment about Wolverhampton, harsh but true :)
In Germany the "Relegation" is only the fight about who can stay in the league (at the bottom) and who will get deported to the lesser league. Sometimes there might be extra games for relegation decision between the worst 2 clubs or the game that will make the decision because of resulting league points is called relegation. The result will be called "Abstieg" (Downgrade).
Got to admit that I prefer rugby to football. But my favourite football team is in league 1, Plymouth Argyle. I grew up in Devon, I lived nearer Exeter than Plymouth, but I liked the not so common colours of their strip (green, black and white). Though where I live now there's a championship team, Bournemouth and a Premier league team Southampton. I live in the middle of these two place.
Just a tip if you go to Brighton again I would not recommend your friend wearing a Crystal Palace shirt. Lookup the rivalry between the two teams. I would like to think that no one would say anything if you did, but I definitely would not wear a Brighton shirt in Croydon.
I used to be a Leicester fan, many years ago, but gave up because they always failed. Stopped watching football. How times have changed. Have been to Wolverhampton and Birmingham they were closed.
I absolutely agree that all the seasons seem to run into each other. I reckon that was a very good effort. However supporting Palace is just wrong. My children were born in Mayday hospital really close to Selhurst Park and they support Everton - like their Dad!! However I love the reason for Shelby supporting them. She almost could be English. I am an ex-pat in New Zealand and have enjoyed your videos which I didn't expect to. I think the ten years in the UK is showing, however you do come across as very London.
That was hilarious! Really though, that was pretty impressive. I have been to see Palace a few times and the fans are among the loudest in the league, although not as loud as my team, Leeds United.
Carabao/League Cup is the 3rd ranked tournament in England. May be getting scrapped soon. FA Cup 2nd tournament. Premier League top of the tree 38 game slog.
I've been a season ticket holder at Man City for nearly 30 years traveling home and away, been to tonnes of of football grounds,. I've seen nothing but misery for the best part of those years, although the last 10 years or so have been quite the opposite.

Shelby doesn’t follow football, the clue is on her T-Shirt🤣🤣🤣. However, I do like her optimism 🤣🤣
A Palace fan hooray.
I see your friend is a glazer fan as I am a great team.
Made me lol when Shelby said thx to Brighton as a palace fan that's a no no !!!!.... even though the seaside part is nice ...the team is not ...eagles over seagulls !! Check out the history!!....me & you both Shelby PALACE TILL I DIE !!!
Well done for putting yourself out there. It was well funny 😄
I thought I must be going mad during this video but (1) it was fun and (2) Shelby really does know a lot about the EPL.
Palace fan… wow… didn’t know they existed outside of Croydon!!
Have you ever considered running a pub quiz night ???? I predict a riot.
The Texan done well, that was a difficult quiz.
Bournemouth is an ok beach, but where are all the pebbles all they have is some fine grit like stuff!
Kaiser Chiefs 2004?
@@cogidubnus1953 What I'll do is let you are think you are right, then confirm the answer at the end 555
Just noticed that Shelby has some dirt on her shirt...in the shape of an eagle. To get that stain out, I recommend gently scrubbing with some washing-up liquid, then throwing that shirt into a fire and replacing it with a Brighton shirt.
Leicester City actually won THE SEASON AFTER they were promoted: i.e. they became champions in their SECOND season in thr EPL.
Wolverhampton.... 😆 🤣
To be fair, we did think it was 'coming home' until, during the final, it didn't. :)
Then we all drank what was left of our pints, went home and had our teas :)
Until next time..
Your pal (sorry I forget her name) couldn’t have made it any more obvious who she supports, he T-shirt says it all
this is my favourite so far
Try watching the film Fever Pitch (stars Colin Firth) it will confirm so much of what you're saying. Oh and it's a decent film.
Manchester City won the carabao Cup in 2021, and have won it every year for the last four years.
I am Scottish. So I prefer the Scottish football leagues.
I support Aberdeen, Inverness CT, and Ross County.
I am not 40 , I am not balding and I am not out of shape ( Got straight teeth as well) neither are my mates😁😁
Palace and Wycombe wanderers, both teams I like, wow
Just a small point girls. When you mention Tottenham Hotspur(my team) you could call them 'Spurs'. What you should call the Arsenal is unprintable.
Lol So supporting Everton is right ?????.......when you obviously live by palace ground ...now that's just wrong ...palace til I die !!¡!
Loved this ,thanks. 🙂👏
Well done ladies
Well done Shelby, Exeter uk.
Cheeky mare lol. Love and peace from Wolverhampton England
another great video................well done
i'm a big fan of football and i didn't realise you got a few wrong lol
Your friend must like Ted Lasso, they play a Palace's ground.
That was hilarious! Really though, that was pretty impressive. I have been to see Palace a few times and the fans are among the loudest in the league, although not as loud as my team, Leeds United.
Question 1. Which team is nicknamed "The Hammers"?
Question 2. What year did Conventry City win the FA Cup?
Newcastle United have been in the Premier League since the 2017/18 season.
Eagles fan, top class. I was born around the corner from tha stadium
A true fan, through the thick and thin!
Amazing what you can buy nowadays, eh?
@@imperialdebauchery5988 the bitterness of the likes of you makes it more enjoyable too!
@@GirlGoneLondonofficial We certainly have been through the crap. Not now.
Have either of you seen Ted Lasso, and what do you think…?
Bournemouth not in the Premiership now.. are they ?
Shelby is awesome. I am a male Brit, and I could not answer many of the questions.
Shelby is awesome, I agree!
